Once, mankind lived in a world of gods and monsters. Vengeful, voracious, and larger than life; mortals lived in both awe and terror of them. The Olympians, as they came to be called, treated the world as their playground, and the Greeks couldn’t get enough. Tales of their grand affairs, vicious conflicts, and the feats of their children were sung all across the peninsula, and that belief and adulation fueled their power even more.

The power of belief so often is overlooked, and as the world began changing, the Olympians paid it no mind—until it was too late. As fewer and fewer mortals continued to worship the old gods, people found new religions to follow and stories to tell, the might of the once supreme Olympian gods began to wane. By the dawn of Christianity, they were undeniably diminished, and in a last ditch effort to preserve their godhood, the Greek gods combined their powers to create their own pocket dimension, taking with them both the faithful, and their creatures of legend. They called it Olympus.

For centuries, the Olympians licked their wounds, gaining strength and consolidating power from their followers in Olympia. But quarters are tight in such a small and isolated reality. As competition for the precious power that came with their followers heightened, constant war became the reality of this world. With the Renaissance however, and the resurgence in popularity of the Greek mythos, the Olympians once again ventured forth to walk the Earth. The world was certainly different from the one they had left so long ago, but some things never change. Their godly appetites certainly hadn’t.

In a matter of years, earth was once again littered with demigods, and it was then that the Olympians made a course altering discovery. The success, influence, and renown of their progeny gave them power; just as surely as throngs of followers in Olympia could. That realization was a game changer, at least for the more ambitious of the gods, and with it came the founding of, what is known today as, the Legacy Academy for Higher Learning, and the annual Agon...

This year, like countless years before it the students of the Academy prepare for their chance at the Agon. But, what they don't know is under the surface, just beneath their noses one of their own plans for more. Demigods will become divided amongst themselves and forced to choose a side, fight for Olympus or fight for themselves. With the Agon as the staging ground, a war amongst the demigods will determine the future for all of Olympus.

Before the Founding of Legacy Academy, and the Agon in Olympia, it was commonplace for the warring gods to kill each other’s children, or even set the demigods against each other. Children were murdered in an endless cycle that even the most hardened of the gods grew wary of. With the Academy, came a pact amongst the gods; the killing would stop, and the greatest of the gods’ favor would only be granted to the worthy in a test that became known as the Agon.

Demigods of all parentage are allowed to compete in teams against harrowing challenges that change every year. Only the winning team receive gifts from the gods, but exceptional standouts have the opportunity to display their worth as well. The Agon is watched by all the students of the academy, but also the powerful and influential demigods of the wider world. It is a proving ground of sorts to create one’s own power base, but also to potentially catch the eye of an older, more powerful demigod. No Agon, however, should every be entered lightly, as the danger is real, and death, while not exceptionally common, has been known to occur during the course on the events. Regardless of the number of members allowed on a team, each member falls into one of the following categories:

xxx
xxx
xxx

B R A I N

Members of this category tend to be key strategists or leads for a team. Their strengths play into the knowledge they bring to the table and their abilities to out think any kind of puzzles or challenges they come up against. The Agon is meant to be a test on many levels. Some years that has not been through physical means, but a battle of the mind. An Agon team without a Brain lacks focus and strategy.

B R A W N

These are typically the tank or combative role. They do a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to fighting, and a group's' offensive strategy tends to be built around them. If there is not at least two on a given team, an offensive strategy would be fruitless. There has never been a team to win the Agon with less than two brawn teammates. A lot of the team dynamic revolves around them from supports to plan of attack.

S U P P O R T

A more complicated category, these team members have talents that lend themselves to acting as compliments to the group's more offensive members. Support members often times enter specifically with a brawn member because of their complementing abilities. They have skills and abilities that can aid, enhance or defend the brawn characters. These characters can compliment the brawn making up for what they lack or strengthen what they excel in.

S P E C I A L

This is the broadest category, but covers members of the team with specialized abilities that may or may not give a team the winning edge. They tend to have unique abilities lending themselves for a specific purpose. That is not to say the team members in this role are incapable of combat, but their primary usefulness lies in their more unique talent rather than brute strength, intellect or support.

Firstly, many thanks to the wonderful Mjolnir for taking the design lead, and creating this beautiful intro page, and the OOC coding that will be added. It is vastly superior to anything visually I could have put together, so all credit for the coding goes to them. :)

1.) No godmodding. This is a cooperative RP, so any action in the story between characters needs to be hashed out and agreed to between all writers involved before the fact. Drama is fun in the story, but infinitely less so between writers, so let’s all try not to step on each others’ toes. :)

2.) Character Reservations are currently closed.

3.) Players are welcome to multiple reservations, but keep lets try to keep the gender ratio as even as we can. I also reserve the right to reject any character on the basis of literacy, completeness, or lack of use/understanding of the source material in the OOC pages. I spent a hell of a lot of time on the background for all of this, and it will not be ignored. Adding more details to your character’s personal story with their godly parent is fine, but keep their story in-character for that god's profile please.

4.) This is a mature RP. Violence is involved, and a certain level of crude language is to be expected as a possibility. Romance is also allowed and encouraged for plot purposes, but following the site guidelines. If things get too hot and heavy, fade to black. You can always take it to PM if you guys want to explore the whole scene.

5.) Real life gets us all, I’m guilty of that as well, but if you have to disappear for a while, you need to let us know. You can even assign someone to move your character(s) along in the plot passively until you can return.

Lee Shepard // Child of Poseidon// Mentor // Location: Legacy Academy
Image

The annual pre-Agon bash was Legacy Academy’s worst kept secret. Considering most of the staff were alumni, that wasn’t exactly surprising. Generally, there was a long standing tradition that for this one night, the teachers would turn a blind eye, the consensus being if the students were old enough to risk death in the field for gods and glory, they’d earned the right to some Grey Goose. For the students’ sakes that was fortunate, as some idiot this year had decided on a rave theme, and that light show was fucking hard to miss.

“Whatever happened to being subtle…” Lee grumbled, feeling thoroughly old as he stared across the lake to the student side of campus. Fifteen years wasn’t a comparatively long period of time in the grand scheme of things, especially to the company he’d been keeping lately, but in this moment it felt like a yawning chasm that had somehow begun to define his life. Fifteen years ago, it had been him acting like a dumbass at that party, naïve, reckless, actually eager for the day to come. He’d walked into that slaughter with a grin on his face, so sure he was about to get his petty wish to humiliate his father. How much that wish had cost him…Lee took another swig from his half empty bottle of bourbon, hoping he could wash down the unpleasant memories threatening to surface.

“Ouch, what’s your liver done to you lately?” The voice brushed past him like a soft summer wind, spreading warmth across Lee’s skin that has nothing to do with the bourbon. He shivered, not interested in the peace being offered. Lee didn’t deserve it tonight, and being comforted by a god somehow felt like a betrayal of those he’d lost. The fact they were...whatever it was they were doing here...it didn’t change that. So Lee said nothing. Stoney silence had a wonderful habit of making people leave.

Side stepping the hint, Apollo saddled up to him instead, gently reaching for the bourbon. “Alright…but maybe we should at least pace ourselves a little.” The tone wasn’t judgmental, but Lee snapped at him anyway.

“I don’t have a drinking problem Andy.” Lee jabbed at the god’s current moniker, cradling the bottle protectively to his side. If Apollo was offended by it, he hid his displeasure well, instead raising a brow as his summer green eyes swept across the pile of discarded bottles Lee may have pre-gamed with.

“Some of those are June’s.” It sounded defensive even to Lee’s ears, but he wasn’t going to apologize for it. Not tonight. Apollo agreed with a wane smile, sliding his hand down to Lee’s in a loose grip that the son of Poseidon was both grateful for, and immediately disgusted with himself for wanting. Even if it wasn’t tonight, demigods knew better than anyone how relationships between gods and mortals ended. Why Lee continued to court disaster with…it was beyond his logic. But he couldn’t bring himself to pull away from it either; betrayal or not.

Intimate moments are delicate things, hard to maintain and easily broken with the wrong kind of pressure. That was doubly true when one of the participants in question was emotionally handicapped. Not that Apollo minded or anything; that was just part of Lee’s charm, but it was difficult sometimes when it always felt like he was pulling away.

“Do you think they’re ready?” It was a question asked out of love, not lack of confidence, but even Lee could pick up the note of anxiety that lay within. The god of light, and music, and bedroom eyes was also a father, and a pretty damn good one as far as the gods went. Lee had lost friends, peers, and students to the Agon, but Apollo had lost children. Perhaps Lee wasn’t the only one in need of comfort tonight. His grip on the god’s hand tightened just a fraction, his thumb tracing circles along his skin as Lee watched Apollo flash a smile at someone from across the field.

“No one’s ever ready.” Lee admitted with another drag from the bottle. “But they’re strong, and they picked their friends wisely.” Sometimes that’s all anyone could rely on. Apollo had two daughters in the fray this year, and Lee knew both of them well. Lux was far more combatively competent than her sister, but Maya was no one to underestimate either. It also helped that they’d both been smart enough to align themselves onto some of the stronger looking teams this year. Lee couldn’t make promises they’d survive this, but he felt the odds were in their favor.

“Why do you go along with it?” Lee asked impulsively. It was something he’d never understood about the god who seemed content to masquerade as a human and steered clear of the politics in Olympia. Why support the Agon, the source of so much heartache for both of them, if he didn’t involve himself in the power plays that was its primary function.

“What’s the alternative, open war?” Apollo ran a hand through golden locks, the exhaustion of his tone suggesting he’d agonized over the issue quite a bit. “I’ve seen what that looks like, the death that sows. At least now they have a choice…some semblance of a childhood.” He seemed less convinced by the last part, but Lee didn’t comment, instead passing him the bourbon. It took a lot more than a bottle of Kentucky’s finest to get a god tipsy, but Lee figured he’d appreciate the gesture.

Their fingers lingered together on the bottle, and Apollo looked up as if to say something, or maybe do something else… Lee’s eyes lingered on full lips, plump and glossy in the moonlight, their faces inching slowly forward. Why was a sun god allowed to look so fucking good in this lighting?

“WOOOOOOOO! LIZARDS RULE!”

You’d think these idiots never had tequila before. Abby thought tersely, as a junior covered in neon glow paint streaked across the field with nothing but a baseball cap shielding his delicate bits, and a sparkler waving frantically in hand. The scene up field wasn’t much tamer, as throngs of students covered in neon bounced and bobbed (in what Abby could only assume was an attempt at dancing) under pulsing strobe lights and black lit canvas. The makeshift dance floor and accompanying bars were covered in more of that glow paint, which was only made more surreal by the fireworks shooting off in the distance. Someone must have recruited the Hephaestus or Hecate kids for the pyrotechnics, because the colors stayed in the sky far longer than natural with pictures of everything from the classical to obscene dancing around in the sparks.

The spring air was warmer than usual tonight, which was fortunate for the student body since most of their outfits were on the bare side of skimpy. Enough to make Abby feel overdressed in her Aerosmith tee and cut-offs anyway, but she hunched into her jean jacket regardless. Party pooper? Maybe, but she definitely wasn’t drunk enough to be cooped up in this crowd. Big day coming up or not, that was a problem in Abby’s power to solve. Glancing around at the open bars, it looked like the neon theme had extended to the drinks, with brightly colored liquids and jello shots littering every flat surface. Whether it was simply clever lighting, or less perceivable sources giving the drinks that unearthly glow, Abby was more interested in the less assuming bottle of Jack. Unfortunately, it was sitting on the middle bar right by the dance floor…and Wesley Tate. Just because they were teammates didn’t mean she liked him, much less the gaggle of minions and leeches currently surrounding their self-proclaimed team leader. Abby would be stuck listening to his crap enough starting tomorrow…not to mention Sebastian, (Who came with his own special set of annoyances.) so she decided to take her chances at another bar.

Lux and Khayla (The two people here she might actually have enjoyed drinking with.) were nowhere in sight, but she spotted Maya Torres not surprisingly at the one tiki themed bar set up. It was both glaringly out of place with its fake palm trees and plastic birds, and somehow fit right in with the accompanying LED string lights and shimmering iridescent bubbles. Abby had a hunch the tiki bar had been Maya’s doing, if her hula skirt and light up coconut bra was anything to go by. Maya was alright, though not necessarily Abby’s first choice in drinking companion. Still, the lure of rum might have been enough to draw her that way if Abby hadn’t heard Lottie by the neighboring bar.

“Umm t-that’s ok, I don’t mind! I’m actually kind of chilly.” The shy demigod’s voice practically squeaked as she wrapped the ugliest neon green sweater Abby had ever seen more tightly around herself. Lottie was with a couple other sophomore girls in similarly warm clothing. “Lucas, we’re fine..really! We just wanted to dance…”

“Ah come ooooon! Ya don’t wanna overheat do ya? You’ll feel looooads betta wi tha clunky jumpa off; dress fer the occasion loves!” Abby couldn’t tell if the overly friendly redhead and his leering sidekicks were sophomores as well, but they definitely weren’t Lottie’s friends.

“Hey ginger, take a hike. They’re not interested.” Abby muscled her way over to the bar, casually placing herself between them as she reached toward the bottle of Hennessy on the counter. It wasn’t Jack Daniels, but it would do in a pinch.

“Oi! Tough girl! Tha’s me stash yer pilfering there! Ye gotta be showin a bit more skin ‘n tha ta be gettin anythin fer free!” Lucas had the audacity to laugh as he moved to intercept, but it wasn’t until he grabbed hold of her jacket collar as if to yank it down off her shoulder, that Abby snapped.

One second the ass was upright by the bar, and a flash of red later he was a good twenty feet away, flat on his back while cradling his broken bleeding nose. Abby was looming over him when sense returned, one foot resting on his crotch, which his howling suggested had already taken some abuse. ”Touch me, or any other girl here again without permission, and next time I’ll kick them off.” She ground her heel in again for good measure before glancing toward the miraculously intact bottle of whisky still in hand. “This is mine now.”

The crowd that had gathered to watch her pummel Lucky Charms parted like the red sea as she walked back toward Lottie, who looked like she was warring between relief and mortification.
“Oh um t-thanks Abby, but you didn’t have to do that. Lucas is mostly harmless y’know...” She glanced nervously around Abby’s shoulder at Lucas’s still prone figure. “Will he be alright?”

“I changed my mind, I’m taking one ball as insurance!” Abby hollered back toward the crowd. Lucas was up and darting away in a flash, confirming his status as a son of Hermes. “Looks fine to me.”

Jesse Bower // Child of Hermes // Mentor // Location: Legacy Academy
Image

The fireworks were in full swing by the time Jesse got back to campus, creeping stealthily through the main building like a thief in the night. Given her earlier activities that evening, it wasn’t a wholly inaccurate description. She’s been gone in Olympia for a number of days, not exactly what she would have preferred to do with a team to prep the week before the Agon, but if Val was right, this would help keep her kids safer than any last minute pep talk. Val’s classroom wasn’t hard to find. This time of night the school building was practically deserted, and the soft glow from the older woman’s desk lamp shown like a beacon as Jesse made her way quietly inside.

“You’re late. We expected you back at least a day ago.” Val didn’t even look up from her desk as she continued scribbling some kind of correspondence. She was old school like that, and hey, to each their own. Legacy Academy had never really pushed modern technology much outside the science department, but for a woman who valued efficiency as much as Val, you’d think email would be her thing. Still rude though, all things considered.

“Oh no, don’t worry about me. I made it out safe and sound after tracking down that milkrun of a grocery list you laid on me.” Jesse retorted dryly, shouldering off her pack. She’d been in too much of a hurry to change out of the silky getup she’d fled her last stop in, and as Valerie’s gaze finally left the desk, her eyes racked up Jesse’s frame with a lingering stare before settling with a pointedly raised brow.

“Get up to a bit of fun down there while you were at it? You know how the brass frowns on fraternizing with the locals. Tell me you at least used protection.” Valerie intoned in a manner Jesse was familiar enough with to know she was being teased, but rolled her eyes anyway. The silky lilac getup she’d filched was classically grecian, with a sleeveless cut and plunging bodice that denoted it’s wearer as working a very specific occupation. So y’know, assumptions could be made, but Val knew what her skill set was and why she’d been down there, so hardy har har.

“Well the evening did end with a little impromptu bondage, but all things considered, I think a fun time was had by all.” Jesse quipped back with a little smile as she thought back on dark eyes and a sinfully talented pair of lips that had seemed perpetually curved up with humor. Well...maybe not at the end there with the handcuffs, but remembering the look on his face once he realized what was happening had Jesse’s grin widening anyway. There were probably stealthier ways Jesse could have gotten into the mercenary’s room and found her prize, but it wouldn’t have been nearly as fun. Gorgon scales were pretty hard to come by, and cost a small fortune to get your hands on because of it. They’d been lucky Jesse was able to track down someone bringing them to auction at all. She pulled out a soft leather pouch, and set it on the desk before pulling out some of the more easily acquired supplies on her co-worker’s list.

Val snorted at Jesse’s satisfied look, and began cataloging her haul. “Well, let’s just hope you didn’t piss off anyone too important.” Jesse shrugged at the warning, not feeling overly concerned. There were a lot of mercenaries in Olympia, spread out among all the different kingdoms, they didn’t all play ball together as a collective unit. She’d probably pissed off one guy with a sword, and besides, It wasn’t like she was ever going to see him again anyway. Which felt kind of like a shame, a less rational part of her who’d enjoyed that heist a little too much sighed. It was also probably for the best though. Even if that bridge weren’t thoroughly burned, the no hanky panky rule was there for a reason, even if it did feel a bit hypocritical coming from the big man upstairs. People in Olympia weren’t really supposed to know that they were here, and pillow talk has never been very conducive for secret keeping. Jesse also dipped her toes into their world enough to know it wasn’t a good idea to be much more than a passing face in the crowd to anyone down there. Just because there was a stranglehold on lines of communication between worlds didn’t mean people were stupid.

“So how long does it take to brew this greyscale cure? Will it be ready by tomorrow for the kids?” Jesse asked, changing to subject to the business at hand. When Val had told her the challenge this year involved monster hunting, including gorgons, it hadn’t really taken much prodding to convince her they needed to make a safety net. Those were some pretty high danger targets, and while manticore venom and other monster related poisons had some common treatments in the academy infirmary, Greyscale was a much more dangerous affliction. When the gods are known to use something to punish crimes, they don’t make the cure for it easily available, so this little trip had been strictly off book.

“We’re a little behind the eight ball here, but hopefully yes. Now I’ve got work to do.” Val replied with a wave of her hand, signaling a clear dismissal. It was a typical Val move, and Jesse was used to it enough from her friend, but she still huffed a little at the shrug off.

“You did good work out there Jess, I wouldn’t have trusted this to just anyone. You should get some rest though...we’ve got a big day tomorrow.” Dark eyes softened a bit as they glanced up at the younger woman. There was something there in her eyes that bothered Jesse, almost like an apology. It was supremely out of character, and made her a little uncomfortable. But then...given what day it was, maybe Val was just feeling introspective. All the staff who’d survived the Labyrinth got a little off this time of year. Trauma could be like that, and they all handled it differently. Knowing Lee, he was probably halfway through a liquor store by now, and June had been in a baking frenzy before Jesse had left, so there was probably a veritable muffin army lurking about. So after a long, lingering look, Jesse decided to bite her tongue and turned away. Val was pretty private about her grief, and she could respect that. “Night then. You get some rest too okay.” Jesse called back softly in parting as she headed back toward her apartment.

Daughter of Artemis // Brawn // Attire // Location: Legacy Academy // #49AD8F

The fading in and out of the music overhead would have been enough to drive anyone to madness if it weren't for the copious amounts of alcohol, glow-paint, and over all atmosphere and vibe of the party as Riley sat by herself at the bar. Normally, she wouldn't have been in a situation like this, she wasn't exactly one for parties, especially ones like this. The overabundance of hormones and teenagers would be enough for anyone to call it quits, which Riley was slowly beginning to have her second thoughts as to why she was even here to begin with. She wasn't a party-goer, nevermind one of this caliber, but when she knew her friends had wanted her to be here in the first place, it was a bit too much for her to say no. Besides, she could handle being out for a little while longer, being around others wasn't entirely draining after all. But sitting here, waiting for any of her friends to show up was beginning to wear her down.

With a soft sight, Riley propped her head atop her left hand as she sat there patiently waiting for someone to show up and drag her away to something fun. Anything at this point. The daughter of Artemis was taken aback when she heard one of the students yell as he streaked across the field. Rolling her eyes as she shook her head, she really shouldn't have been here. But she had to hold out for her friends, if they were actually coming, which she was beginning to have second thoughts, maybe they set her up? Maybe it was a prank, or maybe she was even overthinking everything. With the premise of the Agon just around the corner, Riley was beginning to question if she really made the right decision. She wasn't a fighter, at least not a proper one, and out of all the demigods going into this, she was by far one of the least likely ones to come out of this alive, or even in one piece.

Riley was out of her element in every way imaginable and the reality of the situation began to slowly creep into her thoughts. Even if she did somehow manage to get out of the Agon alive, nevermind win, would it really be worth it in the end? Not like she really had much going for her anyway, her relationship with her mother was already falling apart back on Earth, her relationship with Artemis was rocky to say the least, and her future wasn't exactly a shining beacon of hope. Riley sighed as she picked up the glass in front of her, and downed the liquid in one fell swoop before the bartender filled it up once again. Maybe she could try finding one of her friends out in the crowd and try to enjoy herself for the last few hours before everything would change with the Agon. That's the least she could hope for at this point. Getting up out of her seat, Riley began to make her way through the large crowds of people in search of at least one recognizable face to help distract her until she managed to find one of her friends.

Son of Poseidon // Special // Attire // Location: Legacy Academy // #006994

The music blared from all around as the party sprung to life as students preparing for the Agon celebrated one of their last few nights being a normal teenager. If any of them could ever consider themselves that in retrospect. Tommy found himself running across the field with one of his classmates as he streaked across the field in front of him. Tommy knew that if his friend was lucky, maybe he'd just get a warning, or if he was stupid and messed it up, he'd get at least detention at some point if he was caught by a teacher. Tommy slowed his pace down behind his friend as he needed to catch his breath, his eyes scanning the layout before him. Tommy caught himself staring across the way as an all too familiar face was clearly having an altercation with another student he recognized. Lucas, one of the children of Hermes that even Tommy wasn't exactly a fan of. He contemplated if he should go over and interject, but as the scene unfolded before his eyes, he knew the answer. Not like he would have been much of a help anyway. With the mix of him being on the smaller end, as well as knowing Abby Jarvis was all too capable of taking care of herself, he knew it would be best if he kept his distance and space away from the daughter of Ares. Abby having been only one of the few students to genuinely scare him. If he was ever so bold to even tell her that.

Tommy felt himself being forcibly pushed to the side by a much larger figure, which brought him back to his senses. "Oh shit, sorry my ba. I-" he started, but was stopped as another familiar face locked eyes with his. The older student simply looked down at Tommy with eyes that glinted in the light. "Watch where you're going, punk." the older male snapped back, his accent coming in full force. Tommy felt himself shrink the moment the son of Zues opened his mouth, causing him to take a few steps backward. Almost tripping over his own feet, "My bad, Logan. I'll be sure to watch where I'm going next time. Entirely my fault." Tommy quickly fumbled over his words, watching as the blonde-haired giant slowly turned and walked away in the opposite direction. Thomas could have sworn his life flashed before his eyes every time he had any sort of interaction with Logan. Sure, they were on the same team and had to work together soon enough in the Agon, but that was one of the downsides of it all.

Tommy was by no means a part of their group in terms of popularity, nor did he feel entirely confident being a part of their team, as he tended to always feel like a burden or trouble to the rest. But Tarra always reassured that Tommy was fine and that Logan could always just go and fuck himself if he really had an issue with Tommy being in their group. The only one that never made him feel like an outsider, was Erin. Who he was very greatful for. Out of those three, she was the least mean or rude to him, and was rather kind as far as he was concerned. If anything, he looked up to the daughter of Dionysus, and saw her like an older sister in a few ways. He admired her control over her powers, and the fact she wasn't entirely terrible company to have for the most part, he couldn't complain. Maybe he wasn't in the entirely worst team he could have been assigned to, only one way to find out was just around the corner. But he didn't have time to ponder on the Agon, he was here for a good time, and that's what he intended on doing as he made his way across the dancefloor and over to the bar to get a drink, and hopefully find someone to talk to.

Child of Hades // Special // Attire // Location: Legacy Academy // #575772

The party had only been going on for an hour or so, and everything was already in a drunken haze for Theodore as he was in the middle of a large group of students, shotgunning a large can of four loco. Crushing the can flat as Theodore finished off the rest of the alcohol as his friends shouted in a drunken victory, patting him on the back and cheering him on for more. "I will, I will. Just uh, gimme a minute" Theodore chuckled as he cleaned himself off from the excess alcohol, which wasn't much at least. The beat and blare of the music overhead was slowly starting to get to him as he felt the world beneath his feet slide a bit as he tried to stay upright. "I'll be back in a few. I have something I need to do." the demigod chuckled as he walked away from his friends, briefly looking up at the stage where the dj station was. Flashing a small smile to Erin as she gave him a wide grin and wave of her hand, clearly enjoying herself as always. One of the few people that knew how to party, and pick some good songs for a party no doubt, would of course be a child of Dionysus, if not Apollo. Theodore turned back to the direction he was headed and stopped as he noticed a small altercation going on between Tommy and one of his teammates.

Theodore could feel a bit of annoyance and anger begin to brew as he watched the altercation go down before his very eyes. Thankfully, it was over before anything happened, but seeing one of his close friends being treated like shit by someone who always overstepped his boundaries didn't sit right with him. They'd probably talk to Logan about it later, and help set him straight. They had the annual Agon coming up, and Logan didn't need to fuck up anything else for his team than he already had done. The week prior Logan had caused a small scuffle with a few other students, and as a repercussion, his whole team had been threatened with being kicked out of the selection of teens being entered into the Agon. Which, Logan clearly didn't seem to care too much about. Why would he anyway? Logan was the type to do whatever he wanted, and get away with it, which wasn't surprising to anyone.

Sighing to himself as he saw Tommy walk away shortly after Logan stomped off, Theo continued his short walk to the opposite end of the bar, grabbing a few more drinks as he did so before turning around as he felt someone touch his back. "Hey, do you mind? I-Oh hey Tarra." he said with a small smile as the girl greeted Theo with a smile. "Hey, Theo. Have you seen Logan anywhere? I need to talk to him for a minute." the daughter of Hera shouted over the music. Theo shook his head as he didn't know where he went, "All I know is that he went off in that direction after starting some shit with Tommy. The usual, ya know?" he said with a coy smile, before taking a sip of his drink. "Figures. Thanks, Theo. I'll be sure to talk to him about that. Thanks." Tarra said with a smile, before quickly swiping Theodore's drink from his hands and dipping into the crowd. Leaving Theodore by himself, and without a drink. "Son of a bitch..." Theodore muttered under his breath as he watched her walk away with his drink, shaking his head as he turned back to the bar to order another one.

Daughter of Dionysus // Support // Attire // Location: Legacy Academy // #8c066d

The party had sprung to life and crowds easily formed on the dancefloor as students gorged themselves on alcohol and other substances, as Erin stood on the stage and overlooked the event. She hadn't been in charge of looking after a party in a long time, and being back in her normal place after so long felt like home to her. If she could spend the rest of her life amongst the chaos of a good party, she'd kiss Legacy goodbye in a heartbeat, but she knew things like that were impractical and wouldn't last long. Even her love for events like this, and the high she got off of it would eventually grow old and tiring. Even if she didn't want to admit it. A smile creased her lips as she saw a familiar face amongst the crowds of people dancing, giving Theo a small nod and wave of her hand as she saw him make hos way over to the bar, losing him in the sea of faces.

Erin almost jumped out of her skin as she felt someone tap her on her shoulder. Looking to see who tapped her on the arm, she was relieved to see it was one of the other students relieving her for her break. Gods knew she needed one. "I'll be back in just a bit." she said with a smile as she left the other student in charge of the music for now. A child of Apollo, so they should have been more than fine on their own. Erin stretched and made her way off the stage with a small jump, landing in a group of students who cheered her on and patted her on the back, clearly all drunk and even high off of their asses. Erin simply shook her head and smiled as she pushed her way through the groups of students, almost being taken down as a much larger student ran out from nowhere and stumbled into her. "Watch where you're stepping, asshole." she called after him, seeing how he didn't pay much mind as he was quickly on his feet and running again. Dumbass, she cursed to herself as she got back to her feet thanks to no one, and started her way back to the bar where she had seen Theodore walk off to.

Much to her surprise as she pushed her way through the last group of drunken students, Erin saw Theodore and Tarra talking. Over the music and people around her, she couldn't exactly understand what was being said, nor did she think she really wanted to. Erin watched as Tarra swiped Theo's drink from their hands and made her way back into the crowd, disappearing from sight. Shaking her head, Erin walked up to Theodore with her shit-eating grin on her face as she did so. "So what was that all about?" she questioned, Theo shook his head at her question. "Wouldn't you like to know?" he chucked. "Why yes, yes I would. Hence why I asked." Erin mused, leaning against the counter of the bar. "She was just asking me if I had seen Logan, that was all. And then swiped my drink. Your girlfriend is a thief, ya know that?" Theo questioned with a chuckle, "Oh, trust me. I know better than anyone." Erin chuckled back as she received her drink, turning back to Theodore. "Well, I'll let you be. Now, I'm gonna go reprimand Tarra for stealing your drink. See you around, bud?" the two clinked their glasses and took a sip before Erin made her way back into the crowd of students once more in search of a drink thief, as well as figure out what she wanted to do while she still had some time to waste.

Daughter of Hera // Brain // Attire // Location: Legacy Academy // #4c067a

Tarra made her way through the crowds after having stolen a drink, which in turn ended up being a pretty good choice. Least Theodore proved to have some sort of taste in alcohol. Besides, talking to Theodore was never a dull moment, surprisingly enough she actually had a small soft spot for him, if some were so bold to say. Tarra was halfway through the dancefloor and was on her hunt for Logan when she felt someone grab her by the arm. Instinctively, she turned around as she pulled her arm back towards herself, ready to tell the person to fuck off as she wasn't in the mood to talk, only to stop herself as she saw who it was. Only Erin. A small and genuine smile spread across her face, "Oh hey, babe. You already done with your break or...?" she questioned. "Not exactly, just on my break before I have to go back. But, I did want to at least have one dance with you before I go back to work, sound fair to you?" Erin said with a smile.

Tarra wasn't exactly in the mood for a dance, but she wasn't about to disappoint her girlfriend, least not right now. She could allow one dance at least for now. "I guess I could allow one dance with you." Tarra said with a sly smile. Erin had her moments of being endearing, and these were one of those few moments. A large smile appeared on Erin's face, and she quickly grabbed Tarra's hand and pulled her the side as another song started playing, Tarra placed her arms around her neck, along her shoulders as the two swayed to the beat. "So, what do you think of the whole Agon thing? Feeling nervous or do you still want to be a part of it?" she questioned, trying to gauge a response from Erin, as well as being genuinely curious of anyone else was nervous about the whole prospect. "Well, I mean...How can one not be nervous? Things could go easily wrong but, as long as we all work accordingly, we should be fine? Right? Besides, we're kind of like the best team for the job, right?" Erin mused with a smile. Tarra gave a small nod, still not exactly sure how to feel about it all herself. "I mean, as long as Tommy or Logan don't fuck it up, we should be fine. But, you know how those two dumbasses are, so who knows. But we'll be fine, from what I've heard, the Agon isn't even that hard." Tarra tried to ease around the subject as the two danced.

Thinking to herself for a moment Tarra looked around before looking back at her girlfriend, giving her a smile, "You trust me in this, right? You don't think we're going about this the wrong way?" Erin quirked her eyebrow at the odd question, not exactly understanding what Tarra was trying to allude to. "You know exactly what I'm talking about." she hushed under her breath. Giving a small nod, "Oh, that. Yeah. You're doing the right thing, I mean...We don't really have much of a choice. Not like I would have chosen a different side or anything. If that's what you're thinking." Erin questioned, with a small tinge of uncertainty. "Oh, of course not, Rin. I didn't...I wasn't trying to suggest that. I just wanted to make sure you were still on board is all. Ya know?" Tarra gave a small smile, Erin only simply gave a small nod in response. Neither one was entirely being honest, nor did they feel the need to push for an honest answer. Not in public at least. This environment wasn't the place for this.

"Hey uh, how about you get me another drink, as well as yourself one, and we can continue this conversation later?" Tarra gave Erin a small kiss on the cheek, "Sure, babe. Anything in particular or does it not matter?" Tarra gave a small shrug of her shoulders and watched as Erin disappeared into the crowd as she went to retrieve some drinks. Turning back around, she rolled her eyes and sighed heavily as Tarra saw another figure off to the side. Tarra pushed through the crowd and made her way over to the male that stood along to the wall, red solo cup in hand. "Well, what're you doing all the way over here by yourself, handsome?" she said with a small grin. "Being here against my will, as usual. I could have been in my room, reading a book and being away from the headache of it all. But yet you insist that I come here to this...Party. Why?" Chadwick questioned, taking a sip from his drink. "Because I needed a vote of confidence in someone I could actually trust in being honest with me? Besides, Erin is off doing her own thing as usual, Logan is being Logan and is no help to anyone, and Tommy...Don't even get me started on him." Tarra quipped under her breath, resting her back against the wall. "So, what I'm hearing is, you want to get rid of him? Cuz you know I could do that for you?" Chadwick said with a sickening smile. "Trust me, that's not what I want from you, least not now...But, there is something I do want from you." she said in a sickly sweet tone. The male raised his eyebrow in question, before taking Tarra's hand and following her throughout the crowd until they disappeared from sight.

The tiny sensible part of Amy’s brain said that maybe getting drunk the night before what was probably going to be the biggest few days of her life wasn’t exactly the best idea. But the burn of the vodka burnt away the anxiety she’d been feeling before she’d started drinking. God, was she crazy? She had to be crazy to get herself into this. She was good with a sword and she was strong and fast, but she wasn’t exceptional at any of them. Elliot had told them all they were ready, but he wasn’t going to tell them otherwise the day before the Agon. Maybe she should have waited another year.

Or maybe she just needed another drink. Yeah, she probably just needed another drink. Everyone around her seemed to be way drunker than she was. She was pretty sure she’d just seen someone streaking, which she desperately hoped was as the result of way, way too much alcohol. But some of the Dionysus kids were just that weird, so she didn't want to make assumptions as such. She was at least glad she hadn't overdone it with her outfit. She'd missed out on the neon paint but had made up for it with the sheer amount of highlighter she'd dusted over her face and legs.

As she reached the nearest bar, the selection of shots was almost overwhelming. There was a moment where she contemplated going and finding something a little more manageable, or maybe waiting until Reagan finally decided to show so they could at least make dumb decisions together. But another figure at the end of the bar caught Amy’s attention. She reached for the nearest shot and downed it, then downed another one practically without catching her breath. And then she grabbed some brightly colored neon drink and made her way down to Theo. She could feel the alcohol hitting already and she grinned.

“Hey, Teddy,” she called as she reached him, leaning on the bar beside him. “Good party, huh?”

Back in Camden, Min hadn’t gone to many, if any, parties, and none of them were like this. The closest thing he’d experienced to a party was him and the two people he’d called friends playing some games together, all of them deciding they were going to rebellious and try a beer, and immediately deciding that they hated it. He’d never experienced anything like this, with the array of unnaturally coloured drinks and pulsing music and strobing lights. When he’d first arrived, things had felt so incredibly overwhelming that he’d considered turning around and just going home. But he’d been convinced to stay, and it had led to his current scenario.

He had lost Percy, for a start. Had he wandered off in search of a drink or had it been Min that had gotten lost? He wasn’t quite sure. And that was the second issue. For the first time in his life, Min was drunk. Considering he’d never drank more than a glass of champagne at a fancy event, he probably should have taken it a little easier than he had. But in his defense, he was about to enter an event where he could very well die or lose any of the handful of people he really cared about. God knows, he’d needed a distraction from that.

And, well, he hadn’t realised quite how strong the jello shots were.

He was, at least, aware enough to know that he needed to sit down. He was not, however, aware enough to know that he probably needed to drink something that didn’t contain copious amounts of spirits, and so had a glass of rum and coke in his hand. He told himself that it was, at least, better than shots.

It had been ten years since Elliot’s Agon, and the parties appeared to have only gotten bigger and bolder since then. His party had seemed wild at the time, but it was nothing compared to the rave that seemed to be going on across the lake. They deserved every minute of it, though. Everyone seemed to have been putting in that little bit more of an effort in his class over the past few weeks, eager to make themselves the best they could be in time for the Agon, and his team had been training like crazy over the past few weeks. Some of them had even been prepared to train tonight, but he’d told them to take the night off and just let themselves be dumb teenagers for a while.

That didn’t mean Elliot had been sitting around idly though. He had planned on taking the night off, maybe hitting up some of the bars. But instead, he’d spent the past few hours working with Reagan, making sure she was confident. She was more than capable, but he was mostly concerned about whether or not her emotions would get the better of her. So if some last minute training would help her feel more confident, he sure as hell wasn’t going to turn it down.

He raised an eyebrow as he caught sight of the light show going on at the party, laughing a little. “You know, back in my day, we at least tried to be subtle about this,” he teased lightly. “But I’ll pretend I know nothing about it.” He was pretty sure they were all much more sophisticated now. At his Pre-Agon Bash, at least one kid had drunk an entire bottle of wine and had to be carried home by a team of Zeus’ kids.

“I should probably leave you here, if I get any closer it’ll be harder to claim I had absolutely zero knowledge about this if anyone asks.” He pulled Reagan in for a quick hug. “Go on, go enjoy yourself. Do dumb teenager things. You’ll absolutely kill it tomorrow, don’t worry about it.”

Lux had zero intentions of going to the party. Instead she sat in her room, sitting Indian style on her desk chair as she poured through survival guides, trying to cram any useful last minute information in before the Agon. She had read the books dozens of times, sharpened and resharpened her blades, checked her bow, memorized every bit of Greek lore. Yet, she still felt unprepared. Like no matter how much she studied, memorized or trained, it wasn't going to be enough. So rather than get drunk the night before the Agon and risk a hangover, she stayed in. Plus, part of her, that wouldn't admit it, was trying to avoid certain situations... and people.

Then there as a knock on the door in the melody of some song. Yankee doodle? She didn't try to guess. Instead, Lux ignored it, hoping whomever it was would just leave. But the knocks just kept going and going for the better part of a minute. "Fine. Fine!" She stood up with a groan, kicking her chair out of the way.

When she opened the front door, she found Percy standing there, waiting impatiently. "You can't hide out in here all night."

"You know it's frowned upon in most societies to murder teletubbies," Lux replied as she pinched some of the faux fur of his jacket between her fingers. "What in the hell are you wearing?"

"What?" Percy asked, before giving a flourished twirl. "It's a rave."

"Right... Not a triple X sesame street audition."

Percy rolled his eyes, before he walked past Lux and into her room, beelining for her wardrobe. "Well, you're going. Even if I have to drag you there myself." He opened the doors and began sifting through her clothing. "Don't you have anything of color... or feminine?"

"No," Lux said plainly as she closed the door and returned to her desk.

"Well, luckily for you, I didn't come empty handed." Percy took a piece of clothing from under his ridiculous jacket and tossed it onto the table in front of her.

Lux's face twisted in disgust as she picked up one of the items between her thumb and index finger. "What the hell is this?"

"A skirt," he replied from halfway inside her wardrobe. "Oh, and fishnets."

"No. No!" She snatched up the offered clothes and shoved them into Percy's hand.

He refused to take them and pushed them back toward her. "You can't go in all black."

"Sure I can. Or... I can not go."

"I'm not taking no for an answer. This could be our last party," he said as he took her by her shoulders. "People die in the Agon, Lux."

"Ok, now you're being dramatic."

"You've heard the stories. You know there is a higher chance of us dying than winning. So, can you please, for one night, be a normal person and have fun." He softly shook her shoulders hoping it would shake some sense into her. Lux sighed but said nothing. It wasn't much, but it was enough for Percy to know he had already won. "Plus, it's the one night you can look like a lady before you kill everyone tomorrow." He grinned.

Lux laughed, rolling her eyes. "Fine!" She surrendered, snatching the clothes back from him. A groan escaped her lips as she looked them over. It was more color and less clothes than she had ever wore.

While she was distracted, Percy tossed a shirt into her arms. "Wear that."

"Wait what? This is an under shirt... You'll see my bra."

"That's the point... The other girls will be in less. And how else is a brooding individual supposed to notice you unless you show off a little of the goods." Percy pursed his lips while shimming his shoulders in a teasing manner.

"Shut up." Lux took the shirt for him and went into the bathroom, closing the door behind her. "But I'm wearing my combat boots," she called after him.

* * *

They were almost there. The entire walk Lux kept adjusting the skirt, or crossing and then uncrossing her arms. "I feel... exposed," she grumbled looking down at her transparent top. Somehow she managed to leave her room with her combat boots and a beanie. A small victory, but she'd take it. If Percy had any say in the matter, she'd be wearing some ridiculous Lady Gaga type shoes that she could barely walk in. But the prospect of the party had him far too excited to fret over the details.

"After you, Elton John." Lux motioned her hand toward the entrance for him to go first. She agreed to the clothes, but there was no way in hell that she was walking in first. Maybe she'd be lucky enough and Percy would get distracted and she could make a run for it.

Percy walked through the door and instantly lit up like a neon Christmas tree. Even his pale ass chest was almost florescent in the light show. He looked ridiculous, and while less than half of the people there even dressed for a rave, he couldn't be bothered. This was the first party he's ever been to and he was living for it. "Min!" he shouted above the music when he saw his friend halfway across the room, no doubt gaining half of the attendant's attention.

Lux slunk in behind him, hoping that she was partly hidden behind her furry friend. But unfortunately, he stuck out like a sore thumb rather than blending in. She patted him on the shoulder to get his attention. "I'm getting a drink... Don't get too drunk. Your brain will be important tomorrow."

Percy returned to find Min already drunk with several empty jello shots around him. "Sorry, I had to get a party pooper out of—How many of these have you had?" He flicked away a couple of the empty plastic shots. "Well, since you're drunk and all..." He removed his ridiculous colorful sunglasses, then put them on his friend. He also quickly snagged a glowstick from a drunk blonde who wouldn't notice it's absence and put it around Min's forehead with his bandana.

"There," Percy concluded, while messing up Min's hair a little. "Now I'll be able to find you if you wonder off. And next party, I'm dressing you." He flashed his friend a playful wink.

Then his attention shifted back to the bartender as he slapped his hand on the counter. "Bartender! Your most ridiculously fruity and colorful alcoholic nonsense, please!"

On the other hand, Lux quickly slipped into the crowd hoping to disappear. She wiggled her way through people and made her way to the bar. But unlike everyone else around her, she simply grabbed a bottle of water, wanting to keep her mind as clear for the next day as possible.

As she went to leave, her gaze drifted down the bar until it met Wes who was lost in a sea of women. Lux didn't let her eyes linger there long before she quickly looked away and turned from the bar. She had no desire to hang around the numerous of already drunk teenagers who were trying to get one last lay in before the Agon. Instead she headed over to the lounge area and found a large plush chair that could easily fit two or three people.

With a sigh, she sat down on the chair and propped her feet up on the coffee able in front of her. Lux made a mental note to stay as long as her water lasted, then sneak out before anyone noticed her.

The party was already bustling and it was barely dusk. Sebastian had no idea whose idea it was to make the theme a rave, and to be honest, he hadn't decided if he wanted to thank them. While the lights flashed so much it could make anyone epileptic, but on the other hand some daring women, not much but enough, decided to embrace the race culture by wearing clothes that barely passed for clothing. Neon or holographic lingerie, sequins and the occasion nipple pasty. What wasn't there to like? He didn't quite embrace it like some of the others but he made sure his outfit had enough color to pop just enough under the black lights.

Sebastian lost track of how many women in the surrounding hoard were there for him or Wes. Most likely him. After all, he was the most attractive guy at the Academy, if he did say so himself. He did have the benefit of his parentage working in his favor. Anyone born to Aphrodite was gifted with ungodly attractiveness and charm. And while he was the most desirable, that wasn't to discredit his best friend. The man had a reputation that nearly rivaled his own... nearly. He was certain some of the girls were there for him as well. He's known his fair share of women to appreciate the tall, dark and brooding type.

He made all the right moves. Smiling at the girl just when he could sense she desired it more. Giving another a sly wink before he took a sip of his whiskey. Then waiting until the opportune moment, to lean in and whisper in the naive blonde's ear. He didn't have to be a child of Goddess of Love to know his methods were effective. Sly words from a silver tongue with enough velvet seduction to make her shift where she stood, clenching her thighs. Hook. Line. Sinker.

Seb spared glances in Wes' direction every so often. His friend was usually up there with himself trying to catch what prey he could. But something deep down wasn't the same. It hadn't been for awhile. It was something only Seb noticed, not these air-headed women that created a barricade around them. The man didn't give himself away, it was his emotions. He might have been flirting, and making the moves but his heart wasn't in it.

Almost like a trigger deep in the pit of his stomach, something in Seb told him to look toward the entrance. It was a sensation all too similar to the one he felt coming from Wes. His gaze drifted in that direction only to find another blonde joining the party. Not one he intended on seducing but grew nauseous at the sight of. Someone nearly as repulsive as Abby... Lux. He was surprised she showed up at all, especially looking like... a female.

Seb's right arm was hooked around the waist of the, all too ready, blonde, his left arm snaking its way around the shoulders of a striking brunette to his left. "Doesn't my dear friend look absolutely dashing this evening?" he asked, pointing his hand that held his drink and ran across the girl's shoulder at Wes. "And you think he looks good now... Without a shirt." He whistled. "I'd even fuck him." Seb's tactic might have been a little obvious, but anything to keep his friend's attention focused on the fruits ripe for the picking instead of a rotting one that just joined the party.

Leave it to Reagan to be training up to the last minute before the Agon. She was nervous. Beyond nervous. Sure, she had many of other things mastered, but her emotions weren't one. And without those within her control, she could be more dangerous to her team than the trials. She also worried about using water breathing for herself or her teammates.

Luckily for her, Elliot was always willing to help her whenever she needed it. And if she didn't know better, he seemed just as nervous about the next day as she was. In the midst of all the training, she almost completely forgot about the party until he mentioned the time. Thankfully, she was smart enough to prepare her outfit in her locker off the Academy's pool. She was almost mad at herself for being so predictable.

He offered to walk her to the party, so Reagan hurried off to change into the most bright and obnoxious clothing she owned. After all, it was a rave, not that she had ever been to one. But if there were black lights, she'd at least look a little in character. Of course, her hair still hand remnants of pool water and her face was dressed up in a sad excuse of makeup that she could manage in a couple minutes.

"You know, back in my day, we at least tried to be subtle about this." Elliot laughed at the sight of the bright lights in the night's sky. "But I’ll pretend I know nothing about it."

Reagan laughed as she walked in pace with him, while adjusting her attire. "In your day? What? The stone age?" She jested. Although it wasn't like he was much older than her. Ten years is a big gap, but as a whole it isn't much at all. People got married with larger age gaps. And in her eyes, Elliot was more of a friend than an adult figure. "Let me guess, your party was all punk rock and emo," she added while ruffling his red hair.

"I should probably leave you here, if I get any closer it’ll be harder to claim I had absolutely zero knowledge about this if anyone asks."

Her gaze drifted off to the party as she exhaled deeply. This was it. Her last night before the Agon. Just the thought of it made her hands tremble as she contemplated retreating back to her room. But before she could do either, Elliot embraced her in a quick hug. "Go on, go enjoy yourself. Do dumb teenager things. You’ll absolutely kill it tomorrow, don’t worry about it." She gave her best confident nod before hurrying off in the direction of the party.

By the time Reagan walked through the entrance, the night's events were in full swing. Half naked teenagers made fools of themselves as they drank themselves into a stupor. Although she wasn't the only one to dress for the theme, she was one of the more modest ones, although she looked light a highlighter in the black lights. It took a couple of minutes for her eyes to adjust to the flashing lights and for the loud music not make her brain feel like it was rattling in her skull.

She made her way over to the bar and surveyed the available drinks. Reagan had never drank, well... anything. The thought of alcohol already churned her stomach, but perhaps a little liquid courage was necessary to handle the next day. She grabbed the brightest neon drink she could find that seemed to matched her and took a sip. As she coughed at the surprising sharpness of it, she noticed Amy at the other end talking with Theo. For a moment, she contemplated joining them, but decided not to be a gate crasher.

Instead, Reagan left the bar with drink in hand. Like a beacon in her neon outfit, she sifted through the crowd scouring for Ali.

He typically didn't mind having to attend a party or two, but for some reason - he's just not in the mood for it tonight. An evening of debauchery instead of studying for what could be one of the more important days of his life made no logical sense to him. He would rather be cooped up in his room going over the copious notes he has made throughout his time here at the Academy. There were so many things to go over - who was on what team, how would each person work with or against others, and more. Yet, his mother had reminded him that he should trust his intuition and innate ability for adapting to dynamic situations in the moment, and to remember that there’s fun to be had in life.

Chauncey has always had a lot of fun, but for some reason this pressure has been weighing on his mind. He’s nervous - as the brain and the master tactician, he felt that there was a lot on his shoulders. He stood in front of his mirror, eyes plastered on the way his hair pick ran through the tight kinks of his thick hair. At this time, the motion was more or less just aimless as his mind raced through a flurry of thoughts. People died in this game. Died. If he made a wrong move, it could be his fault. He’s not as certain that he is ready for this as his mother is.

Afterwards, he rolled his broad shoulders and stretched his neck from right to left. He pulled off the glasses that made him look like a huge nerd and popped in his contact lenses. He blinked a few times and moved out of his room to head to the party.

The party that had been going on for at least an hour, and for some people - it had been going on far longer than that.

When he made his way to the party scene, his light green eyes flicked from here to there in quick survey of his surroundings. There were always one million reasons as to why one should always be wary, and Chauncey knew them all. Unfortunately.

His gaze landed on the one really pretty brunette that he's sure just wants to be good friends. She's terribly cute but horribly naive. He finds her personality warming, even if her naivety nagged at him and really brought out a side of him that he doesn't really like. Not that he ever wished to be abusive to her, but she did make him want kick others in the face and - Athena's child or not - he's not a violent guy.

She moved away from the bar and lost her in the crowd, which left him a little relieved. He had told himself earlier that they could all die, and what if... no... he's not going to think about things like that right now. He also disappeared into the crowd, fist-bumping a few people that he was well-acquainted with and jumped up to catch Min's attention with a... jumping wave. How cool of him.

There was no better night than to flutter through the crowd in utterly provocative attire to ho-out. She was determined to lay bare most, if not nearly all of her womanly goodies, because who the fuck knows what tomorrow will bring. People died in this event, and Cadence didn't put herself very high up on the list of survival. Honestly, she'd have to bed a few fellas, and maybe some ladies. Maybe a few at the same time if the night was going well - she didn't care.

Like a few others, she has been determined to be an early party goer. She moved through the crowds like the social butterfly that she is, putting herself on full display unabashedly and un-apologetically. She wasn't terribly surprised that there were so many students wearing way too much for a night like this, but not everyone was as free with their bodies as she.

Her first victim of the night was Lux, and she moved toward the blonde with a bright pink-lipped smile and a sparkle in her eyes, "Slay, lookin' hot, babe. I really like this look on you," she flirts around a bit. Now, she knows that Lux just isn't really into her, but that never stopped the Aphrodite spawn from doing as she pleased. Besides, everyone needed a good compliment in the word, and she liked to think that she carried that around everywhere she went.

Just to make things like - ten times more uncomfortable, she leaned forward and placed both her palms on the woman's thighs. One of her long lacquered nails even pulled at the fishnet that tightly encased the woman's leg, "The table isn't a place for a lady with this body. You should be out there enjoyin' yourself. Just a thought. Because if you don't, someone else will enjoy it for you," She leaned in at that moment and whispered that last bit in the woman's ear. She straightened herself and then tossed the girl a wink and a parting wave as she moved on.Yes, a child of Aphrodite could be both friendly and a little brutish as well.

She moved along without missing a beat, her heels clicking feverishly across the floor until they stopped at the bar. Percy. Ah, Percy - her favorite person in the whole world. She stepped around him until his personal space was utterly invaded by her, his chest against her chest - and her back against the bar counter, like it was meant to be. However, they were best friends, not amorous lovers. Though, it was easy to confuse the two because they were both unashamed people.

"You know, if we play the game right, we can share a few cuties by the end of the night." As the bartender pushed Percy's drink toward him, Cadence scooped it up because she could. Just as it looked like she might drink it, she gently placed it in his hands. Fruity beverages were not her thing. She looked over a shoulder and shouted out, "I'll take a shot of anything that will get me buzzed ASAP."

When her attention fell back onto Percy, she tilted her head a bit down to her left "I like this look. I really was hoping that more people would wear so much less," she sighed with an over-dramatic flair of disappointment. "Let's go dance, see if I can steal some of the ladies from my brother." As those words leave her lips, she was given her shot, put it to her lips, tossed her head back, and attempted to grab Percy's fingers to lead him to the dance floor.

The last thing this party needed was the least liked guy in the whole school. He really was just a terrible soul, and no amount of lectures from his half-sister teacher would ever really get him to change his mind. By the end of the night he counts on having fun with all of his favorite people. Tomorrow was a big day, and it was best to ruin as many minds as possible so that he could have a better chance.

As he slipped through the crowds, grabbing a butt here and there and then blaming some random guy that was just as close, he bumped right into Reagan. Or did she bump into him? Well, since this is his narration - she totally bumped into him, and he wasted no time in taking advantage of it. He smelled like weed and cigarettes, and already like booze has taking over his soul. Reagan is just how he liked his girls - always thinking they could change the bad boy, and this was one really, really bad boy that could use some "changing".

His hands instantly reached themselves to her waist, his fingers falling near her hips. He pulled her in close and then feigned his best feign ever, and this boy was an exceptionally good liar. He tilted his head down to let his eyes draw her in, "Oh my, Reagan, you should watch where you are going. If you had bumped into anyone else, who knows what could have happened? You know, with all the nasty personalities in the Academy. They're all like snakes hidden in blades of tall grass, so you might want to watch your step." He took a moment to drink in her figure, and he was very drawn into the bright hues of her attire and how it flattered her body.

Then he released her to turn away to find Ali. Now, his night wouldn't be complete without asking the boy if he was going to commit suicide before someone at the Argon killed him. But before leaves completely, he looks over his shoulder to leave Reagan with one of his cute smirks.

There was Lux. That was one hot blonde, but they hate each other. One day he hopes that they could hate hate-fueled sex, though.

You know who would be great right now? His sister. They could make some serious trouble before the night is over, and he was very much looking forward to it. Asher didn't think that he would die tomorrow because he's too good for death, and he's certainly better than half of these dolts, so to say he was going to live life on the edge because of the Argon would be a lie. He always lived life on the edge.

"Come on, c'mon people! Place your bets!" Ann announced, slapping two stacks of bills against one another.

They were all gathered around a fold up table, some in pairs but most marveling at the hard fought battle between the children of Dionysus and Athena. The area felt out of place, a circle of demigods that were too laid back to dance, but not so dull that they wanted to stay at home before Agon. Between the alcohol, the bong hits, and the demigod powers, beer pong had transcended mere, mortal drinking games and become its own drunken Agon. Every duo before Dio and Ath (as they were being called) had fallen either due to the strategic edge of Athena's children or Dionysus' natural inclinations. It was a battle between intelligence and instinct, wit and skill, thinking and feeling. At the edge of the table were all of the game's fallen warriors, now handing off their fun money in hopes that their team would win.

Ann's fanny pack jingled with the sound of multiple currencies as she gestured for Team Dio to begin their rebuttal. It was two cups to one, the older one of the two on his phone and the other squinting in concentration.

"One, two, three!" With one splash and then another, the ball seemed to roll on the rim of solo cup before just barely bouncing out.

A resounding "ah man!" emanated from the crowd before Team Ath grabbed the last ping pong ball and won the match. Everyone seemed to dissipate, some collecting their winnings and others looking for the next big attraction.

"Good game," a blue-eyed girl smiled as she approached Ann, "now about my cut."

"You take Venmo?"

"Cash only." The demigod's gills flared just the slightest against her collar, prompting Ann to toss her a sack of coins.

Poseidon's children had the worst tempers.

"Well if we're done here, I've got a party to get to!" Ann grinned as she skipped past her conspirator.

UV light cloaked the rest of the building while the dance floor was lit with a multitude of colors. Everyone flourished under the high of drugs, alcohol, and fatalistic belief that they'd die tomorrow. And here she was, making bank. Ann had no plans of dying in Agon but she knew better than leave a party sober. If she was going to participate in the deadliest tournament Olympus had to offer she wasn't just going to get wasted. She was going to get white girl wasted.

She approached the bar, waving as she saw each familiar face (except for Tarra and Chadwick who seemed to be talking or whatever). The bartender had their work cut out for them, doling out drinks as fast as demigods could steal them. The counter was home to Cadence and Percy, one of which was her friend via team composition and the other because he was absolutely enthralling. The two of them were dressed to the nines, caring neither for formality or decency. Compared to Cadence's Coachella-ready dress, Percy seemed to fit the runway more than an actual party (seriously where did he snag that Frankie Morello?).

"Man you two are really something else. Having all the fun without me." Ann pouted playfully before turning over to the bartender. "Two shots of scotch if you please!"

She downed them one by one, thinking less about the burn in her throat and more about her half-brother. She had a feeling that he was somewhere around here either hitting on girls or starting drama. They were the closest siblings among all the teams and the least predictable depending on who you asked.

Ann sauntered towards the dance floor, stopping when she found her half-brother walking past Lux (his mind presumably in the gutter).

"Hey!" she waved a hand before stepping over to him.

She held up a small sachet of colorful pills, none of which were technically illegal (or legal). "You want to have some real fun?"

Normally, Ali would have talked out his Agon worries with June, but when she presented him with an obscene amount of chocolate muffins, he knew that he should probably avoid bringing up any of his problems with her. At least for now. Normally, with problems he didn’t want to talk to his sister about, he’d go talk to Elliot, but he seemed pretty busy inspiring and helping students who had powers that they could actually control, and were useful. There was no way he was going to talk to his own teammates about his anxieties (they didn’t deserve that. They had their own worries and he would only make it worse.), and talking to someone on a different team, regardless of how close they were, just felt like a bad idea. So- believe it or not- he’d spent the days leading up to the Agon (and, by default, the party) brooding by himself, eating muffins.

He wasn’t really sure he wanted to go to the party. Parties weren’t usually his idea of a good time. He didn’t like loud music, he didn’t like crowds (he didn’t like fun, said the helpful depreciating voice inside his head), so he wasn’t sure what good going would be. But Reagan said she was going, and before he knew it he was saying he’d be there.

So there he was. At this party. Woo-hoo. He felt really out of his element. Looked it, too. It wasn’t as if he never got together with his friends, but all of this paired with the quickly approaching Agon was a little overwhelming.

He scanned the crowd when he’d arrived; there were plenty of people he’d consider friends hanging around. Should he say hi? Most of them seemed to be having a decent enough time without him. He didn’t want to be a buzzkill. You’re always a bit of a buzzkill. Why does anyone hang out with you? A compelling question; certainly something to consider late at night as he fell asleep.

He would need a drink if he was going to stay at this party.

However, as he stared down the options at one of the open bars, he felt absolutely sure that nobody should be putting anything that glowed like that into their body. Eh, bottom’s up. This was a party. It was supposed to be fun. It was fine. He was fine.

After that, he managed to worm his way through the crowd. It wasn’t as if he was avoiding people, he was just avoiding people. A part of him wished he’d worn something less colorful, but he didn’t want to be accused of being a killjoy. Not that it wouldn’t have been a fair accusation.

Then he’d found Reagan, or she’d found him. He didn’t know who’d spotted who first, but she was impossible to miss in that outfit. “Oh, thank god,” He said as he approached her, quickly pulling her into a potentially-awkward-but-not-at-all-awkward one armed hug. He let out a heavy sigh, which Reagan was likely more than used to hearing from him, and said, “I hate it here, Rae.”

Wes had been nursing the same glass of scotch for the better part of an hour. As he’d never been one given to the loss of control inherent to drunken revelry, that wasn’t necessarily odd, especially with the Agon starting tomorrow. Considering his role was as chief strategist for the team, one might even call his moderation prudent. What was odd however, was his lack of killer focus. Women had always been drawn to Wes, or his wealth and position at least, and that effect was quantified exponentially in the presence of his best friend Sebastian. On a normal night, he would have already sequestered one of the girls vying for his attention for the evening. The game he played was a delicate one; women were just as competitive as men, and winning was an intoxicating aphrodisiac. They’d play along for a time, but the kind of women he attracted didn’t share. If he didn’t give one their metaphorical tiara soon, the game would be a bust, no one leaving happy.

He just couldn’t make himself care, and that in itself was frustrating. Not having absolute control over his own emotions grated, and while logically Wes could identify the source of this change, he refused to acknowledge it to himself for what it was. And then, as if the mere whisper of a thought had summoned her, Lux was there, wearing the most ridiculously fetching getup he was almost embarrassed to admit he found appealing. His eyes chased her all the way to the bar with a look that smoldered like heated coals just waiting for tinder to ignite. He was so caught up, that he almost missed Seb’s remarks entirely.

“Now now, it’s not nice to tease unless you intend to follow through Seb.” Wes tossed back as a playful smirk twisting his lips. If the suddenly flushed cheeks were anything to go by, it was a proposition many of the girls here found appealing. Wes could practically see the wheels of fantasy turning in their heads as they imagined all the wicked things these two handsome men might do to each other nestled between the sheets; not to mention anyone lucky enough to be brought along for the ride. It was an amusing role to play to, and one Wes might have easily slipped into for an evening of meaningless fun…if not for those fishnets.

Hands were on Lux’s thighs, fingers twined in her fishnet stockings, and something primal and possessive roared to life savagely at the knowledge those weren’t his hands. Instead they belonged to Cadence, a practiced hand at charming unsuspecting demigods herself, and looking like the personification of sex itself in her curvaceously fringed attire. It wasn’t rational what Wes felt, like a flare of challenge one feels after spotting a true competitor threatening what was yours, but logic wasn’t driving this train at the moment. “Excuse me.” was all Wes got out before striding away, weaving through the crowd as quickly as possible. Cadence was still gone by the time he managed to make it to Lux though, leaving him standing there feeling uncharacteristically foolish.

“Are you alright?” Wes asked, feeling stupid for not having something better ready at hand to say to help him feel less off balance. “Did she try something?” He continued, eyes scanning the crowd suspiciously as he found her dancing now with Percy. He was a rival competitor from another team, but also Lux’s friend, so he evaluated the likelihood of any coordinated foul play as low.

“Right…” Lottie agreed skeptically as her eyes followed Lucas’ retreating form, only to snag on a trim and neatly tailored form that made her more often than not feel weak, and liquid, and a little out of breath. She still couldn’t believe she was on the same team with Seb, instincts often warring between hovering close by, and fleeing in a daze of awkward panic, but now she had a legitimate excuse to talk to the beautiful son of Aphrodite, and it was dizzying. “Gods he’s beautiful…” Lottie sighed, looking moonstruck as she watched him move like a prince in command within his kingdom. He was in his element here, so confident and unapproachable it made her heartsick.

Abby's eyes followed Lottie’s gaze, landing on their teammate with much less admiration. No one with functioning eyes could deny Sebastian Rhodes was beautiful, but the appeal was greatly diminished by the fact Seb was a stuck up prick who could give Narcissus a run for his money. “Don’t feed his ego. A couple more compliments, and his head will burst.” Abby drawled flatly as she brought the bottle back to her lips to take a swig of her newly acquired whiskey.

“I just...he’s so wonderful.” Lottie gushed, taking Abby’s free hand in her own as moral support as she staring mornfully at the absolute cloud of admirers hanging about him, even as Wes made a sudden exit. Did something happen? Mustering up her courage, Lottie decided to take the spirit of the evening in hand. “We should say hello. It’s a party right, we’re teammates, it would be rude not to!” Lottie recited with forced cheer to blanket over her nerves, dragging Abby forward with her as she approached Seb and his remaining gaggle of hangerson.

“I don’t think this is a good idea.” Abby warned, not nearly drunk enough for the inevitable confrontation about to ensue. In truth, she could have broken out of Lottie’s grip easily, just slipped away in the crowd and avoided this crap entirely. But Lottie was a nice kid, a little too sheltered, and so painfully besotted with Sebastian Rhodes that a blind monkey could tell. Frankly, Abby didn’t trust Seb to be gentle with the shy sophomore or her school girl crush, so if she couldn’t dissuade Lottie from doing something stupid, she could at least ruffle some of pretty boy’s feathers real good for some payback on her behalf.

“Hi Seb! I like your cuff links.” Lottie chipped before the horror of what she’d led this conversation with really hit, soldiering on with no real cognizant control over what began spilling out of her mouth at this point. “I just mean, coral tones really work for you is all. Not that you don’t know that right?! You’re you! Everything looks good on you. Just the roses were a nice touch, very chic, and you know me, always appreciate a nod to the flower power!” Lottie laughed nervously.

Oh kid…Watching the train wreck in front of her ensue, Abby took a sympathetic pull of whiskey for them both. Nope, she was definitely not drunk enough yet for this shit, but hey, in for a penny and all that. “The glasses do help distract from that whole fathead situation. Good choice” Abby tossed out glibly, deciding it was time to kick the hornet’s nest for a proper deflection.

Maya Torres // Child of Apollo// Special // Location: Legacy Academy

Maya still hadn’t quite forgiven Helen and the others on the party commission for going with the retro rave theme over the far more appropriate spring break beach getaway (They had a lake right there for gods’ sake!) one she’d spent the better part of a year planning out. She had to admit though, that it was going well, but she still maintained her tropical slice of the party, especially in the middle of so much neon crazy, was the best part. Besides, she sure as Hades wasn’t wasting this outfit after all the time she’d spent putting it together. Threading LED lights through a coconut bra and hula skirt was a surprisingly arduous undertaking, but the results spoke for themselves.

The frozen pineapple mango concoction Maya had been sipping on was a bit strong, but there was just enough sweetness counteracting the bite to leave a myriad of flavors playing across her tongue. It also helped to calm the jitters she’d been feeling for a while now. Maya couldn’t really put a name to it. In the pit of her stomach was this persistent dread, an instinct telling her something was wrong, but she had no idea what to do about it. Was it just nerves over the Agon? Graduation maybe? She couldn’t tell, which was troubling. Maya liked to think she was pretty intune with herself and intuition, it’s part of why she’d signed up for the Agon in the first place, but this feeling was something she couldn’t puzzle out. So it looked like cocktails for now would have to suffice.

Moving through the crowd, Maya waved to friends, danced a little, and made the rounds. Things had begun livening up once the fireworks went off, and Maya couldn’t help admiring some of the more creative handiwork playing across the sky in colorful sparks. It really was a beautiful night, though outside of Cal on the dance floor earlier, she’d yet to run into any of her closer friends. Set to rectify that, Maya continued through the crowd until she spotted a colorful 90’s print shirt that was too loud to miss. “There you guys are, you look so cute!” Maya cheered as she came up and hugged Reagan and Ali from behind, careful not to spill their drinks. Ali usually hated these kinds of events, so she was thrilled to see him here now. “Ali you’ve got to try the smoothie stand, they’ve got these frozen rum mixers with every kind of fruit you can think of, and they’re delicious.” Maya gushed, knowing her friend’s refined palate was probably their best bet for loosening up to the atmosphere.

Percy hadn't been at the bar long. Definitely not long enough for Min to get a word in before a slender someone slid between him and the counter. He looked her up and down as her prominent cleavage was pressed against his bare chest. Cadence was always so subtle. "You know, if we play the game right, we can share a few cuties by the end of the night."

"Why go looking when I have one right here?" He smirked while draping his arm across Min's shoulder. Before Percy could grab his drink, Cadence snagged it from the bartender. She nearly took a drink before handing it over to him. "Thank you. We both know you can't handle fruity like I can."

He managed to take a sip and bite off a piece of fruit from the toothpick before Ann showed up. Percy spared a glance toward Min, hoping that the continuing influx of people didn't make him slink away. "Man you two are really something else. Having all the fun without me."

While Cadence and Ann fetched their drinks, Percy looked to Min. He just about offered his friend a drink of his fruity concoction but then remember the numerous empty jello shot cups. "Maybe we should get you some water... and a lap dance. People are quite impressionable while under the influence," he teased, while raising a seductive brow.

Ann didn't stick around after getting her drink, but Cadence did, of course. She couldn't very well go to a party and not linger around her best friend. At least until she found ample amount of prey to catch her attention. "I like this look. I really was hoping that more people would wear so much less."

Percy glanced down at his clothes, then out at the rest of the party. "It's a rave. The dress code is supposed to be colorfully and a bit slutty." He then turned his attention back to Cadence. "Plus, I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to look like Elton Jon. Iconic."

"Let's go dance, see if I can steal some of the ladies from my brother." And like a tornado, Cadence downed a shot and took his hand in a whirlwind before Percy could make a comment otherwise. Dancing was always enjoyable, not that he was good at it. Probably looked like someone having a seizure, but he didn't care what anyone thought of him. But before he got pulled out onto the dance floor, his other hand grabbed a handful of Min's shirt and dragged him along with them.

The farther out onto the dance floor they got, the more the music seemed to pulse, vibrating beneath their feet. The lights flashed and changed with the beat, strobing hypnotically. Percy let his body bounce in sync while his hands connected the train between Cadence and Min. Once they were near the center, he tugged on the hands he held, spinning both of his companions with a flourish. He wiggled his hips and shimmied in a less than flattering manner. But in the end, he was having fun, so what did it matter how ridiculous he looked.

“Now now, it’s not nice to tease unless you intend to follow through Seb,” Wes replied to the bewilderment of the surrounding gaggle of women. They all giggled, blushed and one even took her bottom lip between her teeth subtly. They loved the idea all too much. And while Seb only jested, he wouldn't oppose his friend joining them in the bed if it meant he got to spend the evening with all the lovely ladies at hand.

"I always follow through." He smirked, while his thumb tickled the bare skin of the blonde's side. Seb was ready to proposition them. The night had barely begun and he had these two eating out of the palm of his hand. It wouldn't be the first time he had two women come with him to bed.

When everything seemed to be going so smoothly, Wes was distracted. “Excuse me,” was all he managed to spit out before slipping from the group. Sebastian didn't want to look back, part of him already knew where he was heading. But he couldn't help himself. As he slyly leaned in to whisper in the brunette's ear, he scanned the crowd for his friend until he saw him. Like a gargoyle, he stood over that Apollo trash who looked like she was straight out of a trailer park.

If there was ever a time where Seb would ditch an easy lay, it would be for Wes. To say that he thought his best friend's pursuits were misguided, would be an understatement. The son of Hades was top tier. The best any woman could hope of having. Yet, he scraped along the bottom of the barrel searching for the lowest of filth to step foot in that academy. Lux was repugnant. He was obviously confused or blinded by some strange unapproachable female charm.

Before he could nix the girls, a third, along with another repulsive human, joined their presence.

“Hi Seb! I like your cuff links.” Lottie was a cute one. She was naive. And the naive ones always had a little preacher's daughter in them. Those were the most fun to deflower.

Seb smirked. But before he could repay any compliments, the girl nervously prattled on. “I just mean, coral tones really work for you is all. Not that you don’t know that right?! You’re you! Everything looks good on you. Just the roses were a nice touch, very chic, and you know me, always appreciate a nod to the flower power!”

"Thanks doll," he said sweetly, as his right hand tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear. "You should stop by sometime. I could show you my other cufflinks. I have quite a collection." The offer was innocent... sort of. Sure, he'd show Lottie his extensive collection of cufflinks. But he'd also show her something else while she was there.

Whatever flirting or other conversations might have ensued, Abby had to go opening her big dumb mouth. Nothing new. “The glasses do help distract from that whole fathead situation. Good choice.”

"You're a shoe in for the costume contest. Frigid bitch is really in this year," Seb replied without missing a beat, finishing it off with a sip of his drink.

Reagan ebbed and flowed through the crowd as she searched for Ali. And while squeezing past people, she was in close proximity of them, somehow it still seemed that someone bumped into her. Before she could even fully turn around to see who it was, hands were on her waist trying to stabilize her. "Oh my, Reagan, you should watch where you are going." He bumped into her.

Asher stunk of tobacco and weed. His hands on her waist pulled her in closer as he looked down at her with a piercingly intense gaze. "If you had bumped into anyone else, who knows what could have happened? You know, with all the nasty personalities in the Academy. They're all like snakes hidden in blades of tall grass, so you might want to watch your step." She wanted to reply, to ask what that made him. But before any words left her mouth, Asher had gone his own separate way.

Before Reagan could continue her search, it seemed that Ali seemed to stumble upon her while she might have still looked like a deer in headlights. But his presence instantly brought a smile to her face. While he seemed to be relieved to just have found her. “Oh, thank god.” She laughed as he pulled her into one of his signature awkward hugs. “I hate it here, Rae.”

She knew he did, but he came out anyway. There was no point in trying to convince him otherwise. Poor dear was a magnetic ball for anxiety and worry. So, rather than try to talk him down, Reagan simply held her glass out toward him. "Drink." It wasn't a request. And maybe the alcohol would loosen Ali up a little bit so he could have a fraction of a good time before the Agon. The worrywart deserved it.

"There you guys are!" Reagan pivoted around to be met by Maya. "You look so cute!" she exclaimed as she approached, wrapping them both in a warm hug.

"You too. Nice coconuts," she said as she pointed at the very flashy top Maya wore. "And Ali, you always look handsome." Reagan smiled, giving her friend a kiss on the cheek.

"Ali you’ve got to try the smoothie stand, they’ve got these frozen rum mixers with every kind of fruit you can think of, and they’re delicious."

"I'm just glad he came!" She lightly squeezed his arm. "We can go dance or ogle all the cute boys... Or both."

Lux felt like a fish out of water in her ridiculous outfit. She couldn't remember the last time she wore anything remotely feminine. It wasn't that she didn't like dressing feminine, necessarily, but more that her passed scarred her from ever wanting to be seen in a sexy or seductive manner. So, she definitely was uncomfortable. But a small fraction of herself felt a bit free. Although she wouldn't admit it... ever.

She was content, minding her own business and sipping on her water. Maybe Lux would be lucky and her presence would go unnoticed. Quick in and quick out. But it seemed that Cadence had other thoughts in mind. "Slay, lookin' hot, babe. I really like this look on you."

"You can thank your friend for that," Lux pointed toward Percy who was mingling at the bar.

She went to take a drink from her water and froze when Cadence placed both of her hands on her thighs. Lux looked down at the girl's hands as a manicured talon hooked itself in her fishnets. "The table isn't a place for a lady with this body. You should be out there enjoyin' yourself. Just a thought. Because if you don't, someone else will enjoy it for you," she leaned in and whispered in her ear, which made Lux shift in her seat uncomfortably.

Before she could respond or do anything, Cadence was up and off, with a final wink before she disappeared. Lux was left sitting there, pressed back into her seat. Gods she hated Aphrodite kids. No matter how much she hated them, they somehow made her heart flutter and skip at beat whenever they touched her. Sickening. Although Cadence was far more appealing than Sebastian... whatever that was worth.

It seemed like barely a moment had passed before Wes's dark form loomed over her protectively like a vampiric guardian. “Are you alright?”

Lux's brows furrowed in confusion. "Yes. Why wouldn't I be?"

“Did she try something?”

"I am a big girl. I can take care of myself." Lux quickly became self conscious about how she was dressed. She shifted how she sat, crossing one leg over the other and resting her hands in her lap to perhaps to cover a fraction of herself. When she looked up at Wes, he wasn't looking at her, but instead glaring across the room toward Cadence, a woman who obviously didn't realize she stepped on toes... Or perhaps didn't care.

Lux sighed. "It's fine. Just Cadence being Cadence." She looked down at her hands as her foot bounced anxiously. "You don't have to worry about me. I'm not your burden. I'm sure there are more pressing matters that deserve your attention." She nodded her head toward the bar before moving to her feet with water in hand.

Hearing someone call his name, Min’s head snapped around to locate it. Percy was easy to spot, his outfit provoking a laugh from Min. He glanced around at the empty cups surrounding him. “I don’t… think all of these are mine?” He said, but honestly even he wasn’t sure. He grinned lazily at Percy as the rainbow sunglasses and glow sticks were added to his outfit and Percy ruffled his hair. “Is that a promise?” He asked, laughing a little awkwardly. Getting dressed by himself had been… an ordeal as he tried to figure out what the hell to wear. The fact that he didn’t seem to be the most overdressed person here gave him some comfort.

He spotted a familiar figure waving at him from across the dance floor, and returned Chauncey’s wave with almost equal enthusiasm. But when he turned back, Cadence was pressed against Percy, wearing next to nothing. Seeing it made Min feel… well, odd. His brain was too confused to try and identify what it was, but he knew he didn’t like it. Min liked Cadence, and was pretty sure that there wasn’t anything actually happening there, but the feeling still lingered. Maybe it was more to do with the fact that when Percy put his arm around Min, the feeling seemed to vanish as Min laughed at being called a cutie. Ann appeared from nowhere, joining their little bubble. All of a sudden there seemed to be a lot of people in the small space, and Min’s drunken brain found it almost too much to handle. Yep, the last drink had definitely been a mistake.

Percy appeared to be able to tell that much as he mentioned getting Min a drink of water. He wasn’t sure if he was actually swaying slightly or if it just felt like the earth was just tilting beneath his feet. At the mention of a lap dance, Min’s face flushed scarlet. He was mostly sure that Percy was joking, but he’d learned the hard way not to rely on that. “Um, maybe not,” he said a little awkwardly, but managed a smile anyway.

At Cadence’s comment about hoping people would wear less, Min found himself glancing down at his own clothes, even if he was aware the comment wasn’t directed at him. Hell, even if he was still over-dressed, at least he was still somewhat on theme. Although he wasn’t totally sure it fit Percy’s criteria of colourful and slutty, even with the newly added accessories.

He heard Cadence say something about wanting to dance, moments before Percy’s hand grabbed Min’s shirt and pulled him towards the dance floor. Min couldn’t do anything except laugh, eventually managing to grab Percy’s hand as they made their way into the middle of the crowd. This was where the real party was, and even though Min was pretty sure his sober self would feel a lot more uncomfortable here, it was hard not to feel alive. He stumbled a little as Percy pulled him into a spin and was amazed when he somehow managed to keep his balance, laughing at Percy all the while. Even though he was fully aware of how dumb it had to look, he found himself mimicking Percy, even if there were times when he was laughing too much to even try and dance.

Child of Hades // Special // Attire // Location: Legacy Academy // #575772

Theodore stood there by himself as he enjoyed the beat of the music overhead and the alcohol in hand after he had it refilled once again as Erin walked off to go do whatever it was that she was going to do. The amount of alcohol he already had in such a short amount of time was clearly having an affect on him and his attention and memory was slowly starting to black in and out as time went on. All his mind kept focusing on was what was going to happen tomorrow, maybe their lives would change after all of this, and they’d lose people they cared about, or maybe they’d even die in the process. The fact that people died in the Agon actually terrified him, partially why Theo even really questioned himself after he said he’d join. Sure, his team did have some good students in it, and he trusted them all with his life, but part of him felt like maybe joining this year was a bad choice.

His attention was snapped back to reality when he heard a familiar voice call over to him. Looking up, a large smile overtook his lips as he saw that it was Amelia May, or simply Amy, he couldn’t help but feel a little at ease. His shoulders relaxed a bit as he leaned against the bar, looking at her with a large smile. “Well well, if it isn’t Amy. Glad you could finally make it to the party.” Theo joked as he took another sip of his drink. Theodore bit the inside of his cheek as he thought for a moment, before resting one of his arms on Amy’s shoulder, “So, are you just as nervous about the Agon as me, or is it just Theo being Theo and is being over dramatic as always sort of thing? Cuz it could honestly be both.” he said with a small chuckle, bringing her in for a small hug for a moment, maybe Theo did have just a bit too much alcohol. “Ya know, before everything hits the fan and our lives are torn a sunder, how about we go try to hunt down one of the usual hermits and see if she actually showed up, hm? I haven’t seen your favorite dumbass here yet, so I’m assuming Riles’ stood us up again?

Daughter of Dionysus // Support // Attire // Location: Legacy Academy // #8c066d

Erin began making her way back to the dancefloor, drinks in hand as she looked around for Tarra in the crowd, who seemed to disappear out of eyesight. Arching an eyebrow, she tried looking for a familiar face to see if anyone knew where she went. Finally seeing one she sighed and walked over, not exactly wanting to talk to him but he was her best bet to know where she went. “Hey asshole, you see Tarra in the last, four minutes? I went to get her a drink and she’s gone now.” Erin asked quizzically. Logan simply shrug his shoulders as he looked at her, “She’s your girlfriend, is she not? Thought it was your responsibility to keep her in check. But last time I saw her, she was talking to Chadwhick and the two walked off. That’s all I know. Now fuck off.” he snarled as he turned back around to dance with the girl he had been speaking to. Erin rolled her eyes at the comment, latching her hand back onto Logan’s arm as she turned him back to face her, “Well, that’s for letting me know, but second, you can learn a few fucking manners. At this rate you’ll never get laid, bud.” Erin quickly retorted with a pat on his back and walked off before Logan could really do anything, not like that comment would bruise his ego too much.

Erin sighed as she walked through the crowd, still with two drinks and she wasn’t about to waste one, nor was she just going to give it to just anyone. She’d try to find someone, even anyone at this rate to occupy her time with. Not that she had much to do besides go back to the dj station, which she was beginning to reconsider as she really wasn’t in the mood for it anymore, even she had promised to come back after her break. They could handle the music for a bit longer. Besides, it was a party and she hadn’t even been able to enjoy it yet for herself. Which, she would change starting now, especially as she saw a few familiar faces in the crowd.

A few feet away, Erin could see the two familiar faces of two Hermes children, and she was at least friends with one of them, so she could handle her brother. Even if he was an ass, she had asshole friends herself. So she figured she could deal with him for a short few minutes. Erin sauntered over, pushing one of the drinks into Ann’s hand as a greeting, “Hey boo, sorry I wasn’t around earlier. By the looks of it I missed some good bets?” Erin mused, knowing full well how the daughter of Hermes worked at parties. They did start up that whole underground gambling ring around Olympia. Erin wrapped one of her arms around Ann’s shoulders as she greeted one of the few people she could actually tolerate in this god damn place. “So, what kind of chaos are we going to start up tonight before the rest of our lives is entirely fucked over by the Agon? Eh? Any ideas, cuz I have a few, and most involve alcohol and good vibes.” Erin said with a raised eyebrow as she looked at both of the Hermes kids, seeing how either one of them would be able to come up with something for them to bring some real fun to the party.

Asher hadn't forgotten about his half-sister, of course, as she was hard to forget. He had aimed to see what dastardly deeds she'd be up to in this party, but he had to naturally pick on his favorite (or not so favorite) people. Regarding the way he stared at Lux - sure, he had this devilish glint in his eyes that accompanied a coy grin. His expression teemed with all sorts of surly things he'd like to say to her, but he instead lays that gaze on her partner. He just thinks he's so cute and swift that even a child born of Zeus couldn't catch him.

No one could, really. He has always had that untouchable personality, and it was fashioned of true narcissism.

When his dead sister approached him, he looked down at the sachet in her hand, "You've been busy, hmmm?" He chuckled and his head tilted from side to side in faux contemplation between the devil and the.... well, other devil that sits on his shoulders. "Looking forward to the Agon? I'm more or less hoping to get a few mind games in before the event. You know, sew a little discord before everything starts."

He placed his hands deep into the pockets of his shorts and peered down at her with a knowing grin laced with underhanded wickedness that only the children of Hermes could think up. Asher had rather devious plans for the Agon, but the silver-tongued demi-god coveted these things close to his heart. You see, everyone here thinks that they are actually worthy of the favour of the gods, but honestly - most of them could go to Hades.

He divulged very little to his half-sister, believing that some plans are best kept to oneself. There were some soft targets to chase down before the end of the night; a sort of scheme he had built in his head that was comprised of making the weak feel undeserving before anything even started. While he smiled and flirted with people, there's a genuine aura of malice bubbling just beneath his flesh. All demigods were not created equal, and some of them had better treatment and attention from their biological sperm and egg donors. Unlike Hermes who only taught him that the gods were nothing more than pieces of shit.

"I'll partake," he relented, holding out a hand for his sister to place a couple of pills in his palms. Hell, he might even keep some for later just in case someone needed a little extra help. This is the time when Erin had come over and wasn't exactly a 'good vibes' kind of guy. However, he smirked at her after quickly glancing at his sister, "Our lives are already fucked up. Our parents just aren't done making us regret being born yet. Even then, I don't plan on letting myself fall victim in this game."

His calculating gaze carried over the crowd, "There are so many others more worthy that title. I can't wait to see who is left standing," he stated in an almost thoughtful drawl with a dreamy hue to it.

She didn't mind that Percy and Min were just two guys convulsing uncontrollably on the dance floor just for the fun of it. By this time, the effects of alcohol already courses through her. The Aphrodite spawn was feeling a tad airy-headed. While she might normally enjoy a more provocative dance style, she knows that this pair of men weren't exactly into having her grind her feminine goodies all over them. In fact, she suspects that Min may have some sort of problem with her but she doesn't have much evidence. Then again, she firmly believes that people are either into her or firmly against her for one reason or another.

The trio was just having their fun on the dance floor; no sexual deviancy in the undertones of her swaying hips and boob shimmies. They all looked ridiculous, and she was happy to be joyous and free with them before the Agon. They were not on the same teams, and she's honestly worried about the things that might happen because of it.

On the note of being genuinely afraid of what might transpire, her russet gaze snaked through the crowd until they landed on the Hermes pair. Asher has been giving her the creeps for a while now, and just before he could turn around and catch her looking over there, she averted her eyes back to her present company. The idea of being on his team was... foreboding and it gave her a frigid feeling. Even thinking about it right now riddled her flesh suddenly with tiny bumps of gooseflesh.

He was going to kill someone. She just knew it. Yet, she didn't want to spend another second thinking about the situation. As a child of Aphrodite, she had weaknesses that many here do not. It would seem, for the most part, that no one here was as attracted to her as they should be - as though they had some kind of armour against her god-given appeal. Cadence didn't have, what she considered, useful skills. Skills that every one else here had - slight of hand, godly strength, superior intellect, necromancy - she had nothing of value.

There was a second where the smile faded from her lips, and she cleared her throat and shoved that smile back into place before it lingered long enough to betray her thoughts, "You boys have some fun. I think I am going to go grab a couple of drinks." The dulcet timbre of her voice was as preppy and cheery as ever, hopefully conveying that nothing was wrong and all is normal.

Chauncey, on a normal night without any damning thoughts about what lay on the horizon at the peak of a new morning, would be having fun. Instead, as he weaved like a serpent through the sea of dancing bodies, he was connecting lines to dots - and these dots were other demigods. Everyone had weaknesses and strengths, and through watching them train and go about their lives, he felt like he knew them well enough. At least, what they show to everyone. Gods only know what may lurk beneath the surface.

He scanned the crowds and caught some faces that he wanted to talk to, others that he'd do well to avoid. His cheery mood had long since dissipated, and he couldn't understand why anyone would be partying right now. A hangover sounds like a horrible thing to have in the morning given the circumstances that will surround tomorrow. His mind fled to that one brunette he crushed a bit too hard on, but she seemed occupied. Maybe it was for the best. The sad reality was that she could die tomorrow, or he could. What was the point?

Just as he thought to move along to the bar, the daughter of Aphrodite bumped into him. It didn't affect him at all. It was very much like a feather hitting a wall of muscle, but that did mean he'd have to make sure she didn't topple from the collision. He grasped her shoulders to make sure that she was steady, "You okay?"

Then his eyes traveled down, down, down... down to that wonderful, cushioned, malleable - no, he had to straighten his attention out. He knew better, but it was hard and Cadence didn't seem to mind a bit. He was not really attracted to her when she wasn't around him, but her Aphrodite allure always hit him like a crashing wave of lust and sordid thoughts.

The woman straightened herself out with Chauncey's assistance,"Oh, I'm fine." She brushed an errant strand of hair behind an ear and dragged a hand over the opposite arm with a worried brush. "I guess I am just worried. You know? I don't have... useful skills. I'm trying to enjoy my life, but gods - how?" The tone of her voice was soft and low, and Chauncey could hear her just fine.

He wanted to be reassuring, but he didn't know Cadence that well. He knew of some of her abilities, but she was one of the few that he worried about. Not to mention the fact that she's on the team with the Academy's biggest asshole. "I think you're going to be okay. I'm sure you have something that no one here has seen before. Just... be careful, you know? You're on the team with the trouble-makers."

As Reagan handed him a drink, Ali glanced into the glass, briefly considering what the concoction could be. Sure, he would probably have a bit more fun after a few drinks, but he was also partly convinced that Reagan just didn’t like it. He brought the plastic cup to his lips and took a big swig. The trick, as far as Ali was concerned, was swallowing before you really got the chance to taste it. That applied to more than just alcohol.

“There you guys are,” Ali didn’t fully turn when he heard Maya’s voice, instead he just turned his head in her general direction, hardly catching a full glance at Maya before she added, "You look so cute!" And wrapped him and Reagan both in a hug. This party couldn’t be too bad; he had two of his best friends here with him, and if he knew Maya and Reagan, they weren’t going to let him be miserable. As Maya let go, Ali turned to properly face her.

He tried not to laugh, but the outfit really caught him off guard. He covered his mouth with the side of his hand. Unfortunately, Reagan had to go and say, “Nice coconuts," And he couldn’t stop the short- but loud- burst of laughter that bubbled past his lips.

“Sorry,” He said to Maya, through a smile, “You look great.” Reagan was complimenting him next, and she kissed his cheek. “Thank you.” Reagan’s whole look reminded him a bit of the highlighter he used in history class, but he decided against making the comparison.

“Ali,” He turned his head after hearing his name, and Maya got his whole attention for a moment, “You’ve got to try the smoothie stand, they’ve got these frozen rum mixers with every kind of fruit you can think of, and they’re delicious.” He raised an eyebrow; that didn’t sound half bad. Generally, he trusted that Maya would know if he’d like something.

Then Reagan said, "I'm just glad he came!" He felt the light pressure on his arm as she spoke, knowing that she meant it. He rolled his eyes, though it was more of a playful gesture than done out of annoyance. He’d said he would be there, so he came. Reagan knew what she was doing, though. "We can go dance or ogle all the cute boys... Or both."

Immediately, a certain guy popped into Ali’s head, and for a short moment he found himself halfway looking through the crowd to spot him. Really, though, it wasn’t a good idea. He probably had someone else to entertain himself with by now, and Ali didn’t need a reminder that he wasn’t special.

“I vote for both, but only if you promise to tell me if anyone catches your eye.” He didn’t much like playing the wingman, but there wasn’t much he wouldn’t do for those two. He held out a hand to Maya, a silent offer to lead her in a spin. They needed him to not be a downer, so he was going to have fun. Or at least act like he was having fun.

Besides, he didn’t mind dancing, and dancing with good friends was a lot of fun. He finished up the drink in his hand and offered an arm to both of the ladies. Wouldn’t want to lose them already.

Theo's bright smile made Amy's own smile widen a little, starting to feel the alcohol numbing her senses and her worries. Maybe she could just relax and enjoy the party now, just have a good time and... forget about tomorrow. Forget about the fact that she was the only brawn member on the team and that every winning, hell, pretty much every surviving team in previous years had at least two. She took a long sip of her drink.

She laughed as Theo rested an arm on her shoulder, although her smile slipped a little as he mentioned the Agon. "It's definitely not just you, dude, I think everyone here is kind of freaking out. That's... at least a third of the reason why everyone here is so drunk," she said. She grinned as he pulled her in for a hug and held on tightly for the second. She raised an eyebrow as he mentioned going to find Riley, shrugging a little. "I... haven't seen her yet so it's very possible she's not here. Buuuut we'll give her the benefit of the doubt. Let's go see if we can't find her. And you'll just have to bring me for a dance if we can't find her," she said with a shrug. She laced her hand through his. "Just so I don't lose you," she said, before downing the rest of her drink and pulling him away from the bar.

She was beginning to think that Riley had either just not shown up or else had already gone home, and was about to say something to Theo, when she spotted Riley a short way away. She let go of Theo's hand and ran over to her, ambushing her in a hug. "Riley!! I thought you'd gone home and abandoned me," she said enthusiastically. "You look awesome!"

“Thanks!” Maya chirped, not the least bit perturbed by Ali’s laugh. She had very nice coconuts thanks, and she was happy to show them off a bit. She took Ali’s offered hand easily, giggling as he spun her for a quick twirl that left her grass over skirt whooshing about.

“Ooooh I’m always down for some ogling.” Maya agreed easily. There wasn’t anyone special she had her eye on at the moment, but she was happy to flirt about and drag her friends along for the fun. Ali in particular needed some appreciative attention. And some distance from a certain son of Aphrodite. Maya got along fine with Seb for the most part (though she certainly didn’t appreciate the way he spoke to her sister), but she knew who he was. Ali deserved to be treated like a treasure, and Seb was never going to be that guy.

So mission in mind, Maya took Ali’s offered arm and forged ahead into the dancing throng. At some point a disco ball had appeared, and the playlist began cycling through a distinctly retro mix. Maya didn’t mind, whipping out a few cheesy disco moves as their little group found an open pocket of space to claim for themselves. She spotted a few appreciative stares thrown their way, Reagan in particular looking gorgeous as she always did. There was one boy (A Zeus kid?) who was definitely looking at Ali though, and she noted to follow up on that one later.

Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive!

She was dancing to the chorus line of the Bee Gee’s classic when the telltale pickling sensation behind her eyes started, and Maya’s heart jumped into her throat. Now?! Why the hell was she having one now?! “Ali-!” That was the only warning she got out before any feeling of normal consciousness fled.

Instead of a crowded makeshift dance floor, Maya was in a narrow stone corridor. It was dimly lit and oddly enough, she could still hear the music echoing eerily off the walls. Disoriented, Maya felt her way across the cold stone wall toward the open door that was her only source of light. An iron tang tinged the air, and Maya pulled her hands back when they touched something slick. As she got closer to the light, the source of the stomach turning scent became obvious. Every surface in the room was painted with blood, as if some kind of macabre artist had worked with gore instead of oils. On the table however, was a marble bust of her father, remarkably clear but for the long train of blood coming from his eyes…

Life goin' nowhere, somebody help me
Somebody help me, yeah, I'm stayin' alive!

Maya snapped back to reality harshly, kneeling on the floor. “Air!” Maya begged weakly, still feeling too frail to pull herself to her feet.

Wes wasn’t used to being unready with words. He was a planner, he scrutinized the field, pinpointed weak points, and then pressed forth mercilessly until his objective was achieved. Other people's feelings or opinions about it didn’t really matter outside ensuring their cooperation. With Lux though that...instinct failed him. He worried about what he said, how she'd react to it. Would she get angry? Would it make her feel better? Would he just make things worse? It almost annoyed him that he cared about something so trivial, but it mattered to him.

“Of course I worry about you. We’re teammates. Nothing is more pressing than watching out for each other right now.” Wes said tightly, dragging his eyes away from their adversary and back to Lux. Her body language was defensive, clearly uncomfortable. He needed to...do something about that. For the team. Maintain morale and...yes, that. It was his duty as their leader.

As the music shifted to the next song, this one a slower classic from the 80’s, Wes glanced at the dance floor, and then back at Lux. He extended out a hand in offer, trying not to look as awkward as he felt. The offer was spur of the moment, the ramifications not even remotely thought out, but the urge to dance with Lux was instant and strong, and for once Wes let himself not think about it too closely. “Do me the honor of this dance?

“Well you are the expert on bitchiness, so I suppose you’d know.” Abby threw back casually, their constant jabs too routine to really be offended. Honestly, she’d been expecting something a little more creative, but it was easy to tell Seb was distracted, his attention clearly split between them and something by the dance floor. A quick glance of her own, and Abby knew why, for once the two demigods in complete agreement with their distaste, if for entirely different reasons. Lux could do so much better than Wesley Tate. She was moral and good, and he was a cutthroat dick, and Abby could not for the life of her understand the attraction a blind person could see those two dancing around.

Lottie on the other hand was too busey blushing as her mind tried to wrap around the suggestion of actually getting to be in Seb’s room to process much else. Abby looked on with a bit of pity. No one was really immune to an Aphrodite kid when they chose to turn on the charm, but Abby liked to think a heavy dollop of loathing might keep the manifestation of any forced attraction firmly violent. Mostly, the child of Ares was surprised and reluctantly relieved Rhodes had been so gentle in his handling there. Lottie was a sweet kid with a school girl crush, and they both knew he wasn’t capable of giving Lottie what she wanted from him.

”Does that mean your costume’s young Hefner or European gigolo? They’re both so tacky, it’s hard to choose.” Abby smirked. They didn’t have to pretend to get along until tomorrow. Best to get some things worked out of the system now.

Asher, Asher, Asher. How she loved to loathe that douchey grin of his. It was a safe bet that he already spent a good chunk of the party chasing girls and unnerving any other boy with even a hair of decency. Anyone ought to be cringing at the thought of flirting with their cousin, but then again he wasn't the only person trying to get someone's pants. The only difference was that he knew a relationship would be doomed.

"Oh you know me so well," Ann grinned, "it wouldn't be a party without some fun and games right?"

She waggled her satchel of pills, only snatching them away when Erin arrived with a drink in hand. She was cheery as ever and likely only the slightest bit tipsy given that she was a child of Dionysus. Those demigods didn't go down easily and Greek God hierarchy be damned, nobody could outdrink them. But that was only a good thing given that she could be the not-so-designated driver should any of them end up on a bad trip.

Ann gulped the drink and threw the cup towards the nearest trash can, wincing as it bounced off someone's head.

Oh no...

Anyway!

"Heeeey I missed you!" the neon-clad girl chirped, "I was rigging games and taking names while you"-she poked Erin's shoulder-"were busy doing, well whatever you were doing."

She opened the bag and dropped a few in Asher's hand before popping one in her own mouth, feeling lips water with the taste of magenta (whatever that meant). Visions of nymphs and sirens, satyrs and horse girls and for some reason, Percy's jacket, clouded her mind. The music swelled in the background, going from a generic EDM mix to the magnum opus of sir ElectroDanceMixes. All at once, her eyes widened, her jaw clenched, and the rest of her body tingled.

"But it's like whatever though," she grinned. "Because you've got to try these."

"I don’t… think all of these are mine?" Min said in regards to the copious empty cups that surrounded him on the bar. Percy just raised a questioning brow but didn't comment on it. This was the one night where it didn't matter. Although, to be honest, it wouldn't matter to him most nights. After all, he did enjoy a party. But with the looming dread and possibility of their deaths, letting loose was in order, for some more than others.

"Is that a promise?"

Percy smirked at the playful remark in regards to his own comment about helping min get dressed. He took a sip of his drink then flashed the timid drunk a playful wink. "You bet, sweet cheeks."

Then before they all knew it, the trio was on the dance floor. Surprisingly, Cadence didn't seem to be bothered in the slightest by his strange gyrating that Min quickly seemed to join in on, accompanied with the most adorable drunken giggles. Percy kept worming his way around the two almost like a figure eight. Every so often when he passed them by, he'd give them a twirl or even a very exaggerated dip.

At one point when he slid behind Min, Percy even managed to slip his furry coat onto his tipsy companion. This left him shirtless, while all of his colorful accessories rested on Min. His smile grew as he grabbed ahold of the fluffy collar and made Min shimmy along with him.

When Percy looked over at Cadence, his dancing slowed slightly as he noticed her smile fade. But she didn't let it show for long before quickly plastering on a large cheerful grin, no doubt in an attempt to hide whatever it was that was going on in that head of hers. His brows furrowed slightly in concern when she looked back toward him. But he said nothing. It was a night not to linger on the imminent dread but have fun and whatever was worrying her... She didn't want to talk about it. And he respected that.

"You boys have some fun. I think I am going to go grab a couple of drinks."

Percy kept a loose hold on his jacket that swallowed Min, while his other hand gently grabbed Cadence's arm before she left. "Hey. It'll be ok." He gave her a reassuring squeeze before letting her go. "Text me if you need anything, ok?"

Once she was gone, he turned his attention fully back to Min, giving him a large mischievous grin. "And then there was two." Percy spun around and playfully shook his butt towards his dancing partner. He contemplated even grinding on him, but he decided he wouldn't scare the poor boy too much in one night. He'll save that for the after party. Because he'd be damned if this Agon killed anyone he cared about. They all were going to survive. They were.

"Alright, dancing queen," he said while running a hand back through his now sweaty hair. "Tonight is the last night of life as we know it. And as a way to celebrate the end of this chapter of our lives, it's bucket list time." Percy made his way behind Min, taking ahold of his shoulders as he leaned his head forward to speak quieter in the male's ear. "What's one thing you want to do before you die?"

As Percy made his way around Min to stand in front of him, he popped the collar of the fuzzy jacket. "Now before you say anything," he interjected, holding up an index finger. "No 'skydiving' or 'win the lottery'. I'm a miracle worker but not a God. So, if there is something we can tick off tonight, I'm going to try my damnedest to make it happen."

“Well you are the expert on bitchiness, so I suppose you’d know.”

"Thank you for noticing," Seb smirked then downed what remained of his drink. Her jabs left room to be desired, along with her company. Neither one of them seemed particularly interested in the other's company but rather their friends talking to one another. He could feel his jaw clenching at the sight but he tried to take a deep breath and not pay attention to it.

After a moment or two, he looked back to their other company, giving Lottie a sweet and charming smile. The girl was blushing and smiling from ear to ear. Sweet girl. Far too naive for his liking. Some men, enjoyed the innocent ones. He knew a fair few of boys like that before coming to the academy. They prided themselves on how many girls they took from a saint to a sinner. Deflowering preacher's daughters was their particular expertise. The conquest is interesting but the pay off wasn't worth it in Seb's opinion. Flirting was always enjoyable, but he preferred women and men of experience to warm his bed.

”Does that mean your costume’s young Hefner or European gigolo? They’re both so tacky, it’s hard to choose.”

"Believe it or not, people in the civilized world believe in dressing up. Not wearing 80s band tees stained with ramen from 2 nights ago." Seb set his empty glass down on the bar and proceeded to adjust the cuffs of his shirt and sports coat. "It's called having taste, not that I'd expect you to know what that is. You'd probably think a mustang and eating at Golden Corral is classy."

No longer desiring to waste his time with Abby's presence, Seb took Lottie's hand and place a gently kiss upon her knuckles. "Make sure you get a good night's sleep. We'll need you at your best tomorrow." He gave the girl a gentle smirk, before guiding the blonde that still lingered around him to the dance floor.

“Ooooh I’m always down for some ogling.”

“I vote for both, but only if you promise to tell me if anyone catches your eye,” Ali offered in return.

It seemed that once the counter offer left his lips a little bit of Reagan's laughter died and her cheeks flushed. There already was someone who caught her eye, although she never voiced it to anyone. Not yet, anyway. Part of her felt like, once she said it out loud it would somehow reach him and Reagan was never particularly good at being forefront with her feelings. But on the other hand, she knew the rumors about her and Elliot. She felt like no matter the truth, everyone would always assume that was her 'secret crush' rather than believing anything she said. And deep down, she knew those rumors probably ruined any chance she had with that person anyway. Yet, her gaze still lingered in the crowd, wondering if it land on him for just a moment.

So, instead she tried her best to give a genuine smile and nudge Ali's arm. "I only have eyes for you." Reagan laughed and gave a flirtatious wink.

Reagan took Ali's other offered arm and let him lead them into the pulsing ocean of bodies that ebbed and flowed to the beat of the music. This was a night to celebrate and unwind. Tomorrow their lives would change, presumably forever, and even with everyone partying and enjoying their last night of fun... She could feel an underlying tension in the air. Like everyone was trying to drink and dance their worries away, but they still lingered there like everyone was holding their breath.

The three of them danced in a circle. They laughed and smiled as disco music came on and they all embraced their inner Travolta. Reagan tried to clear her mind and let the weight that rested on her shoulders cease, if only for a minute. But it seemed their lighthearted dancing was coming to a quick end. Maya stopped dead in the middle of the song, causing Reagan to freeze and look toward her. “Ali-!”

Reagan quickly reached out and took one of Maya's arms, hoping that Ali managed to grab the other. She tried her best to support her weight. But she was sinking to the ground, so instead Reagan squatted down and helped aid her to her knees until whatever it was passed. Minutes felt like hours as she waited for her friend to regain consciousness. She lost track of how much time passed until Maya managed to speak once again. "Air!"

"It's ok. We've got you," Reagan reassured her as she helped Maya to her feet. She draped the girls arm over her shoulders, so her hand could help support her waist. "Ali, can you grab her some water? I'll get her outside."

Once she had a strong hold on Maya, Reagan started pushing their way through the dancing crowd. As they broke through the horde, the air instantly felt cooler and not as thin. She glanced back toward the party one last time before they stepped out, and that's when she saw him. She didn't let her gaze linger, maybe because she didn't want to get caught looking... or maybe because he was talking to another girl... One that was far more beautiful than she ever hoped to be. It was probably for the best anyway. No one wanted to be part of the rumors that circled her. And Reagan would most likely die in the Agon anyway.

She took a deep breath as she looked away and helped Maya outside. The fresh air managed to take away Reagan's breath. It was almost like, for the brief time they were in there, she forgot that air wasn't heavy and moist. Luckily there was a bench not too far away that she was able to guide themselves toward. Once Maya was seated, she sat down beside her with a soft sigh. "Are you ok?"

“Of course I worry about you." For a brief moment, Lux's leg stopped bouncing and everything seemed to freeze. Or was that her heart skipping a beat? Her brows raised slightly as she looked up at him. But then he continued. "We’re teammates." Her heart sank and her gaze fell back down to her hands. "Nothing is more pressing than watching out for each other right now.”

"Right. Right," her voice trailed off as she agreed, nodding her head slightly. Then there was silence. Lux started chewing on her bottom lip but could think of nothing to say. She didn't understand why being around Wes made her feel that way. It was like whatever logic she had slipped right out the window. He was the polar opposite of her. They went together like ketchup and chocolate... they didn't mesh. Yet, every time she walked into a room her eyes searched for him. And even when he said the wrong thing, she remained there, hoping he'd fix it somehow.

The silence began to grow uncomfortable as the music shifted to something slow and people on the dance floor began to pair off. Lux sighed softly as she pushed off her seat. "Well, I should probably let you—" She began to say as she stood up, but froze when his offered hand stopped her dead in her tracks. She looked down at it, puzzled.

“Do me the honor of this dance?”

Did people still talk like that? She thought immediately. It took a moment for her brain to catch up to what was happening. But when it did, her heart did skip a beat then. Lux's gaze drifted between his offered hand and his face multiple times as she searched for words. She had none. Instead her right hand raised slowly, trembling slightly from the nerves she was trying to fight.

Lux didn't know what she expected when she took his hand. She couldn't recall if her and Wes had ever touched each other besides perhaps training. Yet there they stood with her hand in his. And while it was something she wanted, longer than she would care to admit, her mind kept trying to scare her out of it. His suit cost more than everything she's ever owned... combined. Standing side by side it was yin and yang, even down to their hands. His was soft, almost porcelain while his nails could have been manicured. While her own were callused, with nails chewed short and chipped dollar store nail polish.

There was thousands of girls in this world better suited for Wes. At least twenty at the academy alone. Yet he asked her to dance. And there she stood, looking like an awkward punk band reject taking his hand... like an idiot.

Child of Hades // Special // Attire // Location: Legacy Academy // #575772

Theo's smile slightly lessened for a moment when he saw that his comment about the Agon hit a bit of a nerve with Amy, "Oh shit, I didn't mean it like that...I don't know why I said it, really. I'm sorry. I guess I'm just...nervous." he stuttered, with an awkward chuckle as he rubbed the back of his neck. He looked back up when Amy confirmed that she hadn't seen Riley either, which wasn't much of a shock considering she wasn't exactly the uh, most socialable person he had met. Which, was fine just, made keeping track of her rather difficault sometimes. He grinned at the last bit of having to owe Amy a dance if they couldn't find their lost friend, "Deal!" he said a bit too excitedly, "Uhm, I mean cool. Cool. I think I can manage that." he stuttered, Nice save, dumbass, he thought to himself. Real smooth save there too. Theodore shook his head, immediately feeling dumb.

He gave a small smile as Amy laced her hand with his, saying so she didn't lose him in the crowd of people. Tightening his own hold on her a bit as they weaved through the crowd of drunken, hormonally charged teenagers that danced to the beat of the music. With his rather tall build, he had a bit of an advantage of trying to find their lost friend in the crowds of people, trying to spot someone off by herself or trying to strike up a conversation with someone she knew. Almost walking into Amy at one point as he got a little distracted before she took off running, letting go of his hand. "Yeah there...There she is..!" he weakly called out, putting his hand down as he didn't really to need to confirm that he saw Riley as Amy had ambushed her in a hug.

---

Riley had been enjoying the music as she attempted to find someone at least, that was until a person out of nowhere tackled her from the crowd. Almost entirely throwing her off her feet. "Holy shit, Amy! You scared me!" the daughter of Artemis called out as she was practically tackled by the small red haired daughter of Hera. "And hey now, I was trying to find you! So, I have no idea what you're talking about, dumbass." she retorted, happily wrapping Amy in a hug. "Theo!! It's great to see you!" she called out as she saw him making his way over to them.

"Hey Riles. Always good to see you." he said with a smile, giving her a side hug. Riley returned the hug with a smile, "Likewise! And Amy, you're one to talk about looking good. You always look amazing, so I don't want to hear it." she said with a small chuckle. "So, what're you guys up to? I'm currently trying to...Not have a nervous breakdown about tomorrow. But, putting that aside, I'm trying to enjoy myself."

"Well, Amy here wanted to track down her favorite dumbass and made sure she even came to this party. But, me...I'm not up to much. And I'm sure you'll be fine, Riley. You got a good team to watch out for you." he said with a smile.

Daughter of Dionysus // Support // Attire // Location: Legacy Academy // #8c066d

Erin gave Ann a small smile as the daughter of Hermes said she had missed Erin. "I mean hey, I'm not a very easy person to miss." she retorted, flashing her friend a toothy grin. Giving Ann a side eye as her shoulder was poke, "I will have you know, I was very busy with what I was doing. I was DJ'ing this party for a while, but then I needed a break and got a few drinks....And then Tarra kinda dissapeared. So, I'm not pestering you, dear friend." she said with a grin. Wrapping her arm around her friend in a quick hug as she placed a kiss on the other girl's head for a moment before eyeing her handing what looked to be like pills to Asher.

She raised an eyebrow in slight confusion as she watched Ann down a pill of her own, and watched as she stiffened for a moment before her pupils dialated and seemed to be in an odd daze like state of mind. Clearly a drug induced trip. Erin gently kept her hand on Ann, helping keep her stable until she came back down from the most intense moment of the high, giving a small chuckle as Ann began talking again. Saying how it wasn't such a big deal, but she needed to try the pills she had.

The daughter of Dionysus took a slight step back for a moment as uncerainty began to fill her, "I dunno, Ann. I'm not exactly into uh...Taking pills." she said with a small raise of her hands for a moment. Erin may have been into getting intense highs and trying out different drugs and experimenting with what she could handle. But pills? Wasn't exactly anything she ever considered, and she was tempted to turn it down. But, after a moment of reconsidering, especially if this was going to be one of the last few days where she could just say 'Fuck it' and throw caution to the wind? Why not. "Ah fuck it, gimme some of the good shit." she said with a sly grin, and took the ones Ann handed over.

"To eternal youth, or may we all be damned. If things go south, I'll see ya'll in Hades when this is all over." she retorted with a grin, and quickly downed the pills dry. The taste that hit her tongue for the briefest moment, was an odd mixture of sour and...purple? If one could even taste a color, it's what she assumed it would be. After a few seconds, the affects of the drugs kicked in and what flashed before her mind was flashes of images from her past, some things she didn't remember and then a quick flash of a sword and someone else's hand holding her's. Whatever the fuck that meant, she didn't care. The visions were soon over as she found herself gasping for air, falling back slightly, but just able to catch herself from falling over as she grabbed onto someone's shoulder.

"Holy fucking shit, what the absolute fuckballs was that??" she exclaimed, a large grin spreading over her lips as she stepped back over to Ann, wrapping an arm around her. "Those are some tricky ass pills you have, I've never experienced anything like that before." Erin chuckled, almost losing her balance for a moment until she was able to stabalize herself again. "What else do you guys want to do while we say fuck it? Tomorrow our lives could be over, so why not do something we never thought we'd do? I might even go fight god while I'm at it. What else can i fucking lose?"

Amy laughed at Riley’s reaction to her arrival, raising an eyebrow as Riley said she had been trying to find Amy. “Mmhmm, I’m sure you weren’t just trying to sneak out without any of us noticing,” She said, elbowing Riley in the ribs gently. She grinned and twirled a little as Riley told her she looked good.

“Oh don’t be silly, you were helping me look for her. And you’re stuck with us now, if you think I’m letting you go brood in some corner somewhere now, you’re wrong,” she teased. She raised her eyebrows at the mention of Riley’s team. “Sure, her team is good, but it’s not great. Everyone knows a daughter of Hera is the vital ingredient in a winning team.”

“Come on, if we’re going to be risking our lives tomorrow, we may as well go have some fun, right? Or do I need to get some more alcohol into you two?” Truth be told, she knew that they all needed the distraction. They needed to be doing something dumb, they needed to be having fun, because who the hell knew what awaited them tomorrow? Who knew that they were about to walk into?

Everything felt like a blur- but in the best way possible. They were just fooling around, being the dumb kids they were supposed to be, just having fun because they could. Everywhere, the bright colours seemed to bleed into one another in a hypnotising, entrancing way, giving everything a slightly surreal feeling. For once, Min didn’t care how people perceived him or what he looked like. He just wanted to have fun with his friends. At some point, Percy draped his colourful coat around Min. Min knew now that he had to look ridiculous in Percy’s borrowed clothes, and he loved it.

Cadence seemed to suddenly stop dancing. She had her usual cheery tone back on by the time Min turned to look at her, but even he could tell something was up. But perhaps that was understandable, given what awaited them tomorrow. He really couldn’t blame anyone for feeling a little off or distracted.

Percy drew Min’s attention back to him, teasingly shaking his butt at Min and getting a laugh in return. Almost as if he’d been able to read Min’s thoughts, he referenced the fact that this was the end of a chapter, and that they should fulfill something from his bucket list. As Percy grasped his shoulders and spoke in his ear from behind, Min could feel his thoughts wandering somewhere they never would have done sober. Percy came back around to stand in front of him and fixed the collar of the coat, and joked about not being able to organise skydiving or a lottery win. Min laughed, but there was something about Percy being that close, close enough to be able to see the shine of sweat on his skin, that transfixed him. Given what they were facing into tomorrow and what lay ahead of them, Min knew that this could well be his last chance to say something, to do something. But that fear of ruining things between them was always running under the surface, numbed by the alcohol but still present.
“Well, given you’ve just ruled out the first two items on my bucket list… I just want to do something really, really dumb. Like something stupidly ridiculous, like… something that will make us shake our heads when we’re older and wiser. And I want to do it with my best friend.”

For one long, torturous moment, Wes was afraid she’d say no. The hesitation was clear to see, every line of Lux’s body rigid as she looked at his hand, outstretched and waiting. Wes wasn’t used to this feeling, like balancing on creaking branches that could give way at any moment. It was unpredictable, and exhilarating in a way that left him feeling more flushed than the glass of whiskey he’d left behind. Wes had yet to decide if he hated it, or needed another hit. Then she took his hand, and rational thought wasn’t calling the shots anymore. Gently, he pulled her onto the dance floor, and as the opening notes of what would clearly be a slow song rang out, he moved a hand to her hip, grip possessive but painfully polite, despite his clear desire to run it lower. He didn’t have permission yet though, that clear and unambiguous yes that this dance they’d been doing around each other for a while now had left Wes aching for. However much it perturbed him to admit it.

I've gotta take a little time
A little time to think things over

The song playing in the background felt glaringly ironic, but Wes felt too hyper aware to truly enjoy it as he normally might. The floor had flooded with other couples pushing into the throng, and the lack of space seemed to draw them closer. The heat from where they touched, the scent of her shampoo, his senses were absorbed by her, muddled, taking in a thousand details at once and properly processing none. Wes’s face dipped closer to Lux, lips nearly grazing her ear. He aimed for smoothness, intent on saying something cheeky about her hat that would surely have them settle into their more comfortable playful bickering. Put them both back on even footing.

In my life, there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again

“Promise me...you’ll be careful tomorrow.” Wes didn’t mean to say it, a halting plea that confessed too much, an anxiety he’d been fighting back for days. The key to a good strategy was detachment, a willingness to sacrifice a piece on the board if it served a greater purpose toward victory. You never win the game with all your pawns still standing, and it was dangerous to try. He couldn’t detach from Lux though, and she’d stopped being a pawn in his eyes a long time ago. It was a distraction, an exploitable weakness that part of Wes hated himself for. Another part didn’t care though, embraced it with a frighteningly possessive abandon, and Wes was too much of a tactician to see any value in deluding himself about it. Lux had become a piece on his board that was both a weapon, and to be protected at all costs. Fundamentally incompatible roles that left him feeling off center.

I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me

Music played overhead as two bodies danced all-too closely on the dance-floor. Hormones, alcohol and the idea of their lives possibly coming to an end in the ensuing few days were a messy cocktail for anyone. Nevermind for a child of Apollo and a daughter of Aphrodite. The vibrations from the music could be felt through their very veins as they danced together. The child of Apollo felt a sudden sensation placed against their lips, which caused them to take a step back. Blinking in slight confusion for a moment. "What's wrong, Cas? Afraid of a little...temptation?" the blonde haired daughter of Aphrodite grinned, leaning in for another kiss, which Cas pulled away from, turning their head to the side. Feeling lips press against their flesh before feeling the kisses begin to trail down to their neck, which caused Cas to push the woman away. "What? No...No. Just..." Cas looked down and sighed, combing their fingers through their hair nervously as they fidgeted for a moment, trying to find the words to what they wanted to say. "Look, I like you a lot but...With the Agon...I don't want to...If anything were to happen, I wouldn't want to hurt you. Ya know? I just-" a scoff came from the other woman as she took a step back, seperating the two even more than they were moments prior.

"Oh please. As if it'd be anything more than a one night thing anyway. You're cute and real sweet, Cas. You really are. But there's nothing to go from here, with us. Things have been fun but, it'd be nothing more than a hookup. I'm sorry but, it's just not...That, with you. If that makes any sense." she gave a forced smile and nod of her head. Cas took a deep breath to keep theirself calm and collected. Nodding as they bit their bottom lip, internally cursing theirself for thinking anything was going to come from this. How stupid would they have to be, to think anything would ever come from anything. Well, anything good anyway. It was so stupid and foolish of them to have though otherwise. Cas nodded once more, digging their hands into their pants' pockets, "I..I get it, Nicole. You're just, not interested in me like that. I...I get it. It was stupid of me to have thought otherwise. I'm sorry for wasting your time as much as I have." they gave another nod, and a bitterly forced smile in the woman's direction. Nicole sighed and reached out for Cas, grabbing them by the bicep, "Look, I didn't mean anything like that. Can we just, pickup where we left off and-" Cas scoffed, pulling their arm away. "So, you just wanna hookup cuz you can, and then just move on and pretend like nothing happened? Yeah no...I...I don't swing that way." the child of Apollo said, backing away slightly.

The daughter of Aphrodite smirked and clicked her tongue as she eyed Cas up and down for a moment, "Well, that's what the rumors say about you anyway." the blonde crossed her arms for a moment. Cas bit back a forced laugh, doing their best to keep the hurt and pain from seeping out fully. Cas combed their fingers through their hair once more as they shook their head, "Fuck those rumors. Whoever started that shit can fuck off for all I care. Think what you want about me, but whatever you may have thought before? Just...Just fucking forget it. Have a good night, Nicole..." Cas shook their head once more as they stepped away and turned on their heel, headed towards the bar for a few more drinks. Maybe a few could help bury the slowly growing emotions they could feel boiling within them. They already felt nervous and scared about the Agon the next day, and wanted to come to this party to just forget about it for a little while. Enjoy their time and forget about life, or well, the possible prospect of dying in the Agon anyway. But, here they were, immediately regretting everything about this whole night. Maybe having stayed in the dorm would have been better after all..?

Riley forced a smile when Amy called her out for trying to escape the party, as much as she wanted to deny it, Amy had a point. This wasn't exactly her seen by any means, and being called out on it didn't exactly make the daughter of Artemis feel any better. Giving her friend a small smirk as she was nudged in the ribs playfully, before her attention got taken by Theo who commented on Amy trying to hunt Riley down. She rolled her eyes at his comment before chuckling at Amy's retort, before her eyebrows furrowed as she rolled her eyes. "Oh c'mon. I wasn't going to 'brood'." Riley retorted back quickly, "I call it...Sitting in a corner while reading a book and pretending like I don't exist." she shot Amy another forced smile, which quickly faltered when Theo brought up the teams and the Agon. Something Riley was trying to not think about.

The daughter of Artemis turned back to Amy and smirked as she raised an eyebrow, "Oh well I'm sorry. There weren't enough Hera children to pick from, my bad." she retorted back, a tone of sarcasm was evident enough. Riley sighed for a moment as she dug her hands into her pockets for a moment, looking back up when Amy brought up the Agon once again. Why couldn't anyone just avoid bringing it up? Was it too much to ask for? Like, at all? The whole entire point of this party was for them to all be able to not think about possibly dying in the next ensuing days. But here they were, bringing it up once more. Because why the absolute fuck not? Riley nodded to Amy's question about more alcohol, they could sure as hell use it, well, Riley could. By the look on Theo's face, what he needed was his dorm-room and bed. He looked like shit already.

Riley managed to catch a flash of color cross the dance floor and walk over to the bar. That stupid, bright colored mop of hair only belonged to one person in this entire damn Academy, and for once, it was a relief for Riley. But with the brief look on the person's face was enough for Riley to become concerned immediately for them. "Uhm...Drinks, yeah?" Riley started, looking at the other two for a moment. "I'll go get some more and be right back, yeah? Cool." Riley immediately swiveled on her heel and sauntered through the crowd, worming her way through the crowd before she found herself more or less almost falling into the counter of the bar itself, managing to catch herself. Giving the person that was sitting down a small smile, before she walked over and took a quick seat next to them at the bar. "You look like shit." she mused, flashing the person with multi-colored hair, a small smile. "Wow, thanks, Hayfield." a light Irish accent escaped the individual's lips as they spoke. Returning Riley's own small smile for one of their own. "The fuck you want, cousin?" they asked before taking a sip of their drink from a shot-glass that they rolled in their hands.

The brunnette chuckled at her cousin for a moment, shaking her head slightly. "Just...Noticed you looked a little down, is all...Ya know?" she gave a half smile, gently placing her hand atop their's for a moment. "I worry about you, Cas. That's all...You know that." she gave a reassuring smile. Cas slowly nodded, returning a small and genuine smile of their own. "I know, and I appreciate it, truly. But...I'm fine. You...You go and enjoy the rest of the party. I'm just gonna finish my drink here and...Probably head back to the dorm. I...I'm gonna call it an early night. All things considered." the child of Apollo said cooly, before downing the rest of the liquid in the glass. Slowly standing up as they pushed themself away from the bar counter. Riley nodded her head before she turned to the bar-keep, "I'll take three shots, please? One for me and, the other two for some friends?" the bark-keep nodded his head and went to retrieve the drinks. Riley smiled at Cas for a moment as they placed their hand on her left shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze as they exchanged goodnights, and Cas disapeared into the crowd, headed off into the direction of the dormatories. Riley collected the drinks shortly after and headed back to her friends, to hopefully enjoy the rest of the night, if she could that is.

"Well, given you’ve just ruled out the first two items on my bucket list…" Percy laughed shrugging his shoulders. Last time he checked, he was a son of Hephaestus, which didn't give him much in the realm of 'wish granting' when it came to the absurd and unobtainable. But, breaking into Leland's office and covering it with booby traps or stealing someone's underwear, that was far more in his wheel house.

Percy kept bobbing and swaying to the music while keeping his attention fixed on Min, waiting for his response. He was so in the mood to cause some trouble. "I just want to do something really, really dumb. Like something stupidly ridiculous, like…" He nodded his head in agreement, loving where this was going. Gods love Min, he always had to beat around the bush before getting to the point which only made Percy grow more impatient in hearing the answer.

"Something that will make us shake our heads when we’re older and wiser. And I want to do it with my best friend."

He let out a deep breath between his lips, making a raspberry noise as Min still didn't give a plain answer. As they stood their, the music on the dance floor slowed into something most of the hormone raging demigods would love, that allowed them to press bodies and whisper sweet nothings. Percy stepped closer to Min, slipping his hands under the fur coat to rest on his partner's hips. He moved them in circles, watching and waiting to see if he'd spit it out. But eventually he couldn't wait any longer.

"Alright you, out with it." He held Min's waist a little tighter and gave him a playful shake. "You can't tempt me with something dumb and not tell me what it is."

Lux couldn't help but wonder if it was almost planned. It seemed as he had her hand in his and lead her to the dance floor, the music shifted. It went from some loud, obnoxious music that sounded like a transformer in a blender, to a song... a real song. A... A love song? Oh, for the love of the Gods. It was enough to make many people roll their eyes at the borderline hallmark movie moment. But just the smallest part of her kind of liked it. That gross girl who wanted the storybook love story. The part of her that died years ago.

She stood there, awkward, a deer in headlights. Lux instantly regretted accepting the invitation and contemplated retreating. But then Wes's hand found her waist. His touch was so warm she felt it through her clothes. His hand didn't rest on her side, but held it, firmly, possessively. Like he had to make sure she wouldn't slip away, while also letting anyone else, who might think otherwise, that she was his. Even if they never said it to one another.

People crowded the dance floor, pushing them closer together. Or was that Wes pulling her toward him? Soon enough, Lux's chest was lightly brushing his pressed suit. Her own hands hesitated on his upper arms for a long while before she finally gave in, letting them run along his shoulders and rest at the base of his neck.

Lux never noticed Wes's scent before that day. Usually, she never allowed herself to get close enough. But swaying there with him, it's all she could smell. It was musky and intoxicating. And as if Wes knew what was going through her head, his head lowered. She swallowed a lump in her throat as check just barely brushed along hers, leaving her face hidden in the nape of his neck, consumed in his warmth and scent. Subconsciously, she found her arms tightening around him as he closed more of the distance.

"Promise me...you’ll be careful tomorrow."

How could she promise something like that? It was the Agon. They knew what happened before and what could happen to them just as easily. They could die... They both could. The knot twisted in her gut at the thought. Her own death wasn't something she couldn't face. Death didn't scare her. But his... And she was a brawn. The muscle always died first. She hated that he asked this, that he had to act on whatever this unspoken thing was now. The timing was horrible.

Hearing Wes plead for her well being was wonderful... and terrifying. He was always so composed, cold and stoic. But in that moment he let the crack in his facade grow to show a light to her she hadn't yet seen. She wanted nothing more than to explore this side of him deeper. But it complicated everything. Lux enter the Agon recklessly. She hadn't a care for her own well being and was half convinced she die in a blaze of glory. And now it all changed, he just proved that. She was no longer living for just herself, but him too.

Lux didn't know if she could make that promise blindly. So, instead, she answered the only way she could. "Only if you promise the same," she whispered.

She was tempted to keep her face hidden in his shoulder for the remainder of the evening. But somehow Lux managed to slowly withdraw her head so that she might look up at him. The bright flashing lights made a halo around Wes's head, silhouetting out his face. She leaned in closer, ever so slightly, until she could finally see up into his eyes. Her gaze said many things... Many things she'd dare not voice, nor he. How neither of them could make that promise, no matter how much they wanted to for the other. How she was scared for the first time in so long. Or that it was the first time they were close... and quite possibly their last.

Sebastian lead the seductive blonde out onto the dance floor. She was giggly from far too many drinks and with every couple of steps her hands wondered under his jacket or into his pockets. Not that he was complaining. Every so often he give her a gentle kiss to the neck or a nibble on her earlobe. It seemed the banter and flirting made her all but putty in his hands. When they reached the middle of the large mass of slow dancing demigods, her own idea of dancing didn't quite qualify for the music that was playing.

His hands moved her her hips, not being the bashful sort. They both knew exactly what was happening that night and at this point, it was just foreplay with their clothes on. Seb let his hands wonder, even running along her supple bottom, giving it a playful squeeze. But she was not there for the slow dancing. She slowly turned around, pressing her back side up against him and began to sway. A mischievous grin graced his lips as he let her do as she pleased.

The dance floor swayed and flowed like a body of water, pushing and pulling people around the slow moving crowd. Seb paid no mind to where they moved, instead focused on the girl pressed against him. His hands wondered about her form, touching and caressing her in every way he could without getting screamed at by some of the uptight teachers. When they were temporarily out of sight of guardians wondering eyes, he sneak suggestive touches or seductive words that were foul enough to make Patrick Swayze blush.

Seb and his blonde moved with the flow of the crowd. To his surprise, it brought him right next to another pair. Two who meshed as well as oil and water. He didn't say anything at first, instead standing and watching them to see what happens next. At first it was a harmless slow dance, but then he saw their faces getting closer... Not to mention the mix of emotions and hormones that came off them like an over fragrant cheap perfume.

"If you're going to fuck her, might as well get it over with and move on." Call it a cock block, but Seb was doing Wes a favor. "I doubt she's worth anything else," he concluded, looking her up and down with a sneer.

Whatever happiness that might have been on Lux's face faded as her arms slowly fell from around him. She looked between the two men, then pushed past Seb as she left. She shoved past the slowly dancers, weaving her way through the crowd until she broke free of the dance floor. Once there weren't bodies pressed to every side of her, Lux sighed, feeling like she could finally breathe. Her gaze scanned the party but she decided she'd had enough and made her way to the exit.

"Are you satisfied now? You've slummed it... Gotten her to like you so she'll protect your ass in the Agon. Don't tell me you fell for your own lies?" Seb gave the blonde before him one final kiss on the shoulder and a slap on the bum before handing her over to Wes. "A gift... stick to what you're good at."

Amy just rolled her eyes as Riley claimed she wasn’t going to brood as such, laughing a little. But as the discussion continued, Amy got the impression that Riley didn’t particularly want to talk about it, and made a mental note not to bring it up again. This whole party was a reminder of what they were about to face into; Riley didn’t need it being shoved into her face by them too. Even if Riley didn’t seem to be the type who was there to straight up forget about the whole thing.

She disappeared to get drinks, rather suddenly, and Amy raised an eyebrow. “Think we hit a nerve,” she said, with a grimace. “But… can’t say I blame her. This whole thing seems kinda absurd and yet… not sure I can blame anyone for anything they do tonight. Most normal schools have proms. We have a big party before we all go fight in this tournament that might just get us killed,” she remarked.

She was about to continue along that line, when the song choice suddenly changed very obviously, and Amy almost snorted with laughter. “Are they actually serious? How cheesy can you get?” She remarked. "They’re just encouraging people to go make some dumb decisions in the trees or in the dorms or something. Bet anything an Aphrodite kid just got their hands on the playlist.” For one crazy moment, she thought about asking Theo to dance, but on glancing back out at the crowds, she couldn’t help but feel that she’d probably crush his toes and that they’d both just be awkward. So instead, she just leaned against him and laughed to herself again. “Bet you anything there’ll be a few shock pairings tonight and we’ll probably miss all the gossip when we’re in the Agon.”

Percy’s frustrated reaction to Min’s answer made him laugh, raising an eyebrow a little. Truth be told, he had no idea what he actually wanted to do. Even when they were stone cold sober, Percy was always better and coming up with these types of things than Min was, and Min was a long, long way from sober. He was about to say so, suggest that Percy came up with something, but a sudden change in music stole his attention. The contrast was almost laughable; from pounding bass and hypnotising lights to an almost sickening love song. There was a sarcastic comment on his tongue, but the feelings of hands on his hips completely wiped it from his mind.

Unsure of what else to do with his hands, he rested his arms on Percy’s shoulders. His thoughts were racing and yet, at the same time, he couldn’t seem to figure out a single coherent thought. He would have blamed it on the alcohol, except he wasn’t sure that the alcohol was solely to blame. Their previous conversation was entirely erased from his mind, his mind only able to focus on the feeling of hands on his hips.

So when Percy asked for an answer, Min stared blankly at him for a moment, trying to remember what it was in relation to. And then he laughed to himself. “I don’t even know. You’re always much better at this than I am,” he admitted. “But I like this.” The words were out of his mouth before he realised, it feeling a little closer to home than expected.

And then came the crushing, overwhelming fear that he could ruin everything by saying or doing the wrong thing. For some people, the pre-Agon bash was a chance to do dumb things, because did things like that matter when they were all putting their lives at risk anyway? But it didn’t seem that simple, and Min found himself afraid of ruining things if he wasn’t going to have a chance to make it right.

“I need to grab some air,” he said, forcing an apologetic smile and pulling away, making his way through the crowd to somewhere a little quieter. He just wanted a few seconds to pull himself together, but the minute he got out of the crowd, he could feel the hot sting of tears burning at the back of his eyes. He took a deep breath, trying to calm down a little.

Eden’s reputation was primarily that of the “Mom Friend” and he’d been fulfilling that role from the minute she’d shown up to the party. Except half of the people he was helping out were really just acquaintances who had gotten overly drunk, been separated from their friends, and who had then landed eyes on Eden and had roped him in to help. He had reunited more friends than he could count and had narrowly avoided being thrown up on three times. But he had at least gotten a few drinks out of it, which was better than nothing.

But as a result of reuniting groups, Eden had lost the people he was supposed to be meeting or was hoping to come across. After a quick scout confirmed what he thought, that he had no idea if they were even here or where they were, he sighed, draining his glass. Usually, he loved a party, but he was tired and vaguely fed up with the whole thing. So when the music shifted to some slow, romantic love song, he took it as his sign to abandon ship.

He began trekking back up towards the dorms, figuring he could at least hope for a half decent night’s sleep. But spotting a familiar figure up ahead of him, he frowned slightly, and broke into a slight jog to catch up with them.

“Cas!” He called as he caught up with them. “Good to know I’m not the only one done with this whole thing,” he joked. He took one look at them and frowned, folding his arms. “Alright, come on. Out with it. What’s up?” He asked. “And don’t bullshit me, I can see right through it.”

The fresh night air wafted across the child of Apollo’s skin as they walked back to the dorms, not fully paying attention to the world around them. Absentmindedly even bumping into a few other students as their mind was...elsewhere. It was only when they heard something that took them a full moment to process that their attention was being called. Cas blinked for a solid moment, shaking their head as they turned to look at who had called for them, seeing that it was only Eden. Cas blinked once more as he spoke, slowly processing what was being said, as their mind was still partially somewhere else. “Oh, hey Eden!” Cas forced out with a small smile, a small chuckle escaping their lips at their friend’s words, “Yeah uh...Party kinda...Lost my attention, I guess. Figured I’d call it early. Ya know?” the Apollo child reassured, giving a small nod of their head for a moment. Taking a deep breath as they gave a small shrug. Cas’ brown eyes scanned over the male’s face for a moment, before they began to turn as if attempting to walk, but knew full well Eden wasn’t going to let them leave.

Cas sighed softly, combing their fingers through their colorful hair for a moment as they took a deep breath, trying to think of something that they could say to get him off their back. Cas wasn’t the type to normally try to bullshit things, nor were they exactly the kind to want to come across as an asshole. That just wasn’t who they were, and anyone that knew them, well, truly knew Cas, knew they weren’t out to be an ass. “Look, Eden. It’s really nothing, okay? You don’t have to-” but they were quickly cut off as Eden immediately went from asking what was up, to telling them to try not to bullshit him. Warning how there wasn’t even a point in trying. The Apollo kid sighed as their head dipped down as their shoulder slumped forwards with a shrug, digging into the ground with the tip of their shoe for a moment. All the actions of one large, none-verbal, ‘I don’t know’, but Cas knew he wouldn’t fall for it.

Cas immediately bit their lip, an overly drawn out exhale sounded as they threw their head back with a grown, “I hate when you do this shit, ya know that?” their tone was raised, their light accent appearing for just a moment and was easily gone the next. Eden raised an eyebrow and grinned slightly at the victory.“Ya know that girl, Nicole? The one I asked to the party? The uh...The Aphrodite chick?” Cas started, looking back down as they were ashamed to verbally admit the next part aloud, “The one that uh...I kinda had a thing for? Yeah well…” Cas combed their fingers through their hair once more, pulling it back a bit as they looked around nervously, fiddling with their hands for a moment, “Safe to say she...Kinda sorta didn’t...We didn’t really vibe like I thought we would, yeah? I put myself out there again, Eden and...It blew up in my face..” Castiella bit their lip again, “I was stupid and thought something...I don’t know, maybe something would actually come from this but...Apparently that’s not how how she looked at me. Apparently she’s kinda the uhm…’One and Done’ sorta deal, if you get me.” they said with raised eyebrows, hoping Eden got it. They didn’t want to have to say it outloud.

As soon as Cas mentioned Nicole, Eden had a vague idea of where this was going, and had to stop himself from grimacing. He sighed as Cas explained everything that had happened and that things hadn’t worked out between them. It was no wonder that they looked so deflated, that wasn’t the type of thing you particularly wanted to happen right before you went into a tournament in which you’d be risking your life.

“I’m sorry Cas, that really sucks. But listen, it’s her loss. Honestly, she doesn’t even know what she’s losing out on,” he said. “And besides, you could do way better anyway, just putting that out there. Wait till we emerge from the Agon victorious, everyone will be falling at our feet and begging for our favour,” he added. But studying Cas for another second or two, he knew words weren’t going to be quite enough, and so he held his arms out for a hug. “Come here, you dumbass.”

Cas simply just nodded their head at their friend’s words, giving a small shadow of a smirk at his comments. Truth be told, Cas didn’t believe any of it. They weren’t some big hot-shot on campus like some of the other students. Sure, Cas had a reputation on campus but, it wasn’t exactly always for the best reason(s). They just wish they had done a few things differently, yet here they were. Unable to change anything.

They looked at their friend and gave a simple shrug, “Oh yeah, cuz you know all those kids will just be so floored by our impressive skills. No doubt about it.” Cas grimly joked back. The more they thought about the Agon, and what exactly could transpire during it, caused that small pit they already had in their stomach, to only get bigger and bigger the more they thought about it. And Cas knew the more they focused on it, eventually it would just end up swallowing them up inside and they’d be lost to that eternally, dark pit of anxiety and dread. It was only when Eden opened his arms and demanded that they came in for a hug, that Cas was only able to nod and walk over to their friend, returning the hug. Cas found themself burying their face into his shoulder for a moment, allowing the hug to linger on for a little bit longer than either of them may have initially intended. But Cas knew Eden well enough at this point, that he’d stay there in the embrace for however long they may have needed it.

After a few short more moments, Cas finally released Eden from the embrace, taking a few steps back as they took a deep breath. A failed attempt at trying to compose themself a little while longer. Cas fidgeted with their hands for a moment before looking back at Eden, “Uhm..I think..I think I’m gonna call it a night, Eden. We...We got shit to do tomorrow and, I think it’d be best if we got as much sleep as possible, ya know?” they gestured with a nod, “That and, I need to stop by and get something for Lex. I doubt she had dinner again. You know how she is…” Cas said with a small smirk, before taking a few more steps back, “See you bright and early, Eden? Let’s kick some arse, aye?” they gave him a small smirk, and nod of their head before they began to turn and make their way back to the dormitory.

The hug lasted a while longer than expected, but Eden also knew that Cas wasn’t the type for prolonged hugs unless they really needed one. He held them for as long as they needed, then nodded sympathetically as they stepped away. Honestly, with the Agon looming, it seemed that most people needed a hug tonight anyway, even people who were having significantly easier evenings than Cas. He could read them as they tried and failed to compose themselves; so when Cas said they were going to head back to the dorms, he nodded again.

“Cool. I should probably head back and make sure nobody makes any ridiculously dumb decisions anyway,” he said. In reality, he wanted to head back to the dorms himself as well, but he got the impression that Cas wanted to walk back up to the school by themself, and he didn’t want to intrude. “Tell Lex that I say hi. And sleep well, we need those mad archery skills at their finest tomorrow, ya hear?” He instructed with a grin.

They formed a small smile as a small chuckle escaped their lips as they looked back at Eden once more, “Oh for sure, you keep them in line, Eden.” they gave him a playful wink before nodding, “Oh, always. We’re gonna smoke those Artemis kids. Have them running for their money.” Cas grinned, before shaking their head. “Well, I’ll let you get back to all that fun party stuff. Make sure to get at least some sleep. I'll be sure to tell Lex you say hi. See you tomorrow, Eden.” Cas said with a small, but genuine smile and finally turned back around and left for the dormitory.

Theo stood by awkwardly as Riley and Amy conversed, being able to detect the ever looming awkwardness by the second. Theodore was never really one for socializing either, so he could understand where Riley was coming from at least. And then of course, there was the residential, social butterfly of a friend, Amy. He simply stood by and nodded as Riley excused herself for a few drinks, watching her dart off towards the bar and then disappear into the crowd. Theo looked back at Amy when she mentioned having hit a nerve with Riley, and simply nodded his head a bit. It made sense, for all they knew that tomorrow, could be the day that they all signed their lives away just for some sick competition. Yet here they were, trying to act as normal as any other day would have been, even though they all knew deep down that they were simply bullshitting themselves. Nothing about this was normal. They were a bunch of kids, some barely even out of High School, were willing to be killed for some damn game. It sent a shiver down his spine and a pit to form in his stomach as Amy continued to speak.

He gave her a small nod as the music changed from an upbeat, dance song, to a slow-dance. He couldn’t help but awkwardly shuffle on his feet as he looked down for a moment, before looking back up and tucking a few strands of hair behind his right ear. “Oh I bet that was the case...I don’t see Erin up on the stage anymore, and I doubt she’d ever play anything this...well..Not exactly in her style of music, I guess.” he stated calmly. While he wasn’t exactly the closest with the student in question, he knew her at least well enough to know her music taste, and this sure as hell wasn’t it. Theo looked back at Amy when she joked about all the ‘shock pairings’ that could potentially happen. He couldn’t help but chuckle and roll his eyes at the thought. Young adults, alcohol, hormones, all mixed with the potential ideal of ones life ending...Wasn’t too farfetch’d.

Theo shook his head as he wrapped one of his arms loosely around Amy’s shoulder, looking out at the crowd, “I mean, I’m pretty sure I saw like...A whole group of students walking back towards the dorms and...Well...People are definitely making mistakes tonight, that much is for sure.” he said rather mockingly.

Amy laughed at the mention of Erin. She’d only met the daughter of Dionysus a handful of times, but she got the impression that this very much wasn’t Erin’s style of music. She wasn’t alone in that. Even if Amy wasn’t opposed to the odd cheesy love song, it wasn’t the right type of music for a big, dumb party like this. Parties were supposed to have music you could dance to, music that could make you feel drunker than you already were. Slow, emotional love songs just made the realisation of what they were facing worse.

She smiled at the feeling of Theo’s arm around her shoulder, before laughing at his comment about people making mistakes. “How many teams do you think are gonna be made super awkward as a result?” She asked. “Because I will be shocked if nobody fucks up and sleeps with their teammate.” But watching all of the slowly moving couples across the dance floor left Amy with a feeling of longing. It was cheesy and honestly ridiculous considering the whole idea of the party was to let loose and have fun, but that didn’t mean Amy didn’t want the teen movie moment. She straightened up and stepped in front of Theo, holding out a hand.

“Well, when in Rome, right?” She asked. “Fair warning, I will probably step on your toes, I’ll almost definitely twist my ankle in these shoes, and I will definitely get the giggles. But that might just save a few people from making monumentally terrible decisions so it might be worth it. What do you say?” She asked. She played it town as being chill and more about having fun than anything, but her heart was pounding in her chest, unsure of what was going to happen next.

Theo chuckled at the question he was asked, pondering for a moment, “I honestly don’t know.” he started, rubbing his chin for a moment as he thought, “I feel like it’d be safe to say more than enough.” he shrugged. He chuckled once more at the mention if no one fucks up and makes things awkward for the teams. He already knew a few of the other teams had people either secretly hooking up, or were already together in some fashion. But someone would for sure have to make a major fuckup, he was just somewhat curious for who it’d be.

He was snapped out of his brief train of thought when he felt Amy escape the loose grasp he had on her shoulder and stepped in front of him, hand extended. Theo blinked in confusion for a moment as he tried to figure out what was going on, but it clicked when Amy cleared the air and was only asking him to dance. He felt himself fight back an awkward chuckle, thinking she was only joking, until he realized just how serious she was at the time. He gently took her hand in his and nodded as they slowly made their way to the dance-floor, “I’m no proper dancer so...I can’t judge too hard.” he joked. “Well, as long as you don’t mind us both making proper fools out of us tonight well...Who could a single dance hurt, really?” he questioned with a small smile. He could feel his heart beating rapidly in his chest as he placed on hand in Amy’s and the other around her waist, keeping them just a bit apart. Theodore wasn’t exactly the bold type, but he had his moments of being a gentleman and this was no exception. He always knew he had unspoken feelings for Amy, someone who was one of his closest and dearest friends, and the prospect of them possibly both dying, or one of them in the Agon that would follow from tomorrow on out, well...To say he was scared beyond belief for both of them, was an understatement.

Amy smiled encouragingly at Theo as they stepped out onto the dance floor and Theo rested his hand on her waist, ever the gentleman. It felt like her heart was in her throat, the distance between them at once too close and not close enough. The first few steps were slow and unsure, both of them still finding their feet. Amy knew that this was the closest thing she would get to a prom, and it was nothing like how she’d pictured it when she’d imagined her prom. Everyone was dressed all wrong, and the threat of death or injury certainly hadn’t been hanging over her in her imagination. But she was here with a person she liked and she was having fun, and at least the reality matched that much of the daydream.

And then she stumbled over her feet for the first time, and she began to laugh. From there, it was a disaster in progress. They both began fumbling over their feet and losing their footing, and Amy’s laughter was just making her coordination worse. It ended with her twisting her ankle and losing her balance, trying and failing miserably to catch herself. And then she sat on the ground, laughing enough to make her tear up slightly.

“Jesus Christ, and they want to let me loose with a sword tomorrow?” She remarked, looking at Theo and laughing. She could feel the dirty looks she was getting, but she didn’t care in the slightest. “It might be a good thing you’re not on my team, Theo dear.”

Theo couldn’t help but chuckle at the comment of letting her wield a sword, it truly was a good question if he was being honest with himself. Well, not really. Truth be told, he was genuinely impressed by Amy and her ability as a fighter. Sure, he himself had the potential to be a very combative person, being a child of Hades and everything that came with it, but he wasn’t a fighter. Not like the others. He preferred using his abilities to help the others in training or combat, he didn’t personally like being one to engage in combat. Just wasn’t his way, as well as his fear of some of his abilities. Theo shook his head as Amy spoke up again, breaking the momentary silence he felt as he thought. “I mean, there are far worse people to be teamed up with, so…” he shrugged a bit, looking to the side for a moment before looking back down at Amy, pausing for a moment before he spoke, “I know you are more than capable of taking care of yourself out there but...Please, promise to take care of yourself out there, yeah?” Theo questioned with raised eyebrows for a moment, “I just don’t want to lose anyone out there, preferably no one dying, truth be told..”

Theo’s remark about there being far less people to be paired with earned a grin out of her, but the request to take care of herself turned it into a smaller, more bashful smile. It was followed up with a comment about not wanting to lose anyone, and she just laughed.

“You’re not gonna lose me, Theo,” she said, somewhat seriously. “I’m far too stubborn for that,” she added with a grin. “Come on then, it’s not gentlemanly to leave a lady sitting on the floor, even if it is her own bloody fault that she got here,” she said, holding out both hands to him for a hand to pull her to her feet.

Theo couldn’t help but chuckle, as he in fact hadn’t yet helped Amy back to her feet in his drunken state. He reached down and gently helped Amy back up onto her own two legs, almost falling over in the process. Maybe he did have too much to drink, he thought to himself. Once he had found both of them back on stable ground, Theo let out a soft sigh as he nodded his head, “I know you’ll be fine. I just...Sorry. You’ll do fine.” he said with a tone of reassurance, nodding his head once more. “So, other than tripping over our own goddamn feet all night, what else do you want to do before tomorrow morning comes and we’re faced with endless dangers?” he said with a playful grin.

Amy got another fit of the giggles as Theo nearly fell too, and had to keep her own feet planted firmly on the ground. She just signed and grinned at him as he said she’d do fine. “You’ll do just fine too, Theo. Just gotta have a little faith.” She said softly. At the question of what she wanted to do next, she stopped to think for a second. “Well, I’ve got to say, slow dancing kinda sucks, so I’m okay with not trying that again. We should probably go find Riley and make sure she’s not sulking alone in some corner somewhere,” she said. Then she grinned at Theo, raising an eyebrow slightly. “Unless you still want me all to yourself,” she teased, raising an eyebrow slightly. Part of it was just that, teasing. Theo was especially adorable when he got flustered. But part of her also wondered. Wondered if she should take a chance given what faced them tomorrow. Wondered if it was worth potentially ruining everything for food.

Theo forced out a small smile at Amy’s comment, he was nervous but he'd try his best to play it off as well as he could anyway. The son of Hades let out a small, genuine chuckle as Amy commented on the fact that slow dancing sucked. “Yeah uh, you got a point there.” he nodded in agreement. As for finding their long lost friend, well, Gods knew where she was. If she hadn’t ditched them yet, it was only a certain amount of time until she did. Theo nodded, “Alright, let’s go find her and bring her back to have some fun before the night’s over. Or so help us, we’ll never let her live it down.” Theo chuckled, grabbing Amy’s hand with his own and the two went on a search for their friend, wherever the hell she had gotten herself holled away to.

ALI HUGHES

i worried a lot. will the garden grow, will the rivers
flow in the right direction, will the earth turn
as it was taught, and if not how shall i correct it?

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

"I only have eyes for you."

Typically, Ali might have said something about how disappointing that was going to be for Reagan in a few years, but the spirit of the party had him in a lighter mood. “I’ll save a dance for you, then.” He said, as if he were expecting to be swarmed with gentlemen vying for his attention. But he noted how Reagan seemed flustered at his insistence that he tell her if she spotted anyone she liked, and a part of him knew he was going to pry into that later.

Getting through the crowd to find a suitable spot on the dance floor was less than ideal, but eventually the three of them found a little space to claim. Ali enjoyed himself, right down to the disco music and the cheesy dance moves. Really, if there was the potential that he was going to die tomorrow, he was glad to be spending this time with his two best friends. Reagan and Maya were always there for him- despite how annoying he was sure he could be- so really, he wasn’t sure there was anyone else he’d rather be dancing with. But, as often happens with demigods, the happy moment had to come to an end.

“Ali-!”

Hearing his name like that left Ali feeling, well, panicked. As he reached out to catch Maya, he felt instant relief that Reagan was there. It wasn’t that Maya was heavy, but he wasn’t sure he could have maneuvered himself to catch her properly on his own. She was dead weight though, and soon enough they had her kneeling on the ground. Ali stood to try and direct traffic to go around the girls instead of tripping over them. When Maya finally came to (why does every moment last an eternity in high stress situations?) gasping for air, Ali rushed to make sure Reagan did need any help steading her.

Ali nodded when Reagan asked him to grab some water for Maya. He could do that. So with little more than, “Yeah. I’ll find you.” He turned to go back through the party-goers in search of a bottle of water or… something. He wanted to grab the water and get to his friends. He knew that Maya would be fine, but it was still vaguely worrying, and if some water would potentially help then dammit he was going to get her some water.

It seemed that everyone who wanted water had already grabbed all the bottles up, because there didn’t seem to be a bottle left in the place… At least, according to the first few people he asked.

“I’ve got 7-Up.” Announced the person behind the bar.

Not water but, “Yeah, that’ll do.”

A few seconds more and Ali was making his way through the crowd again, plastic cup of lemon-lime soda in hand. When he finally hit the fresh air, he had to admit it was kind of refreshing. He hadn’t realized how claustrophobic the party really was until he’d stepped out of it. It only took a moment to find Maya and Reagan once he was outside, and he quickly made his way to the bench they were seated on. “Here,” He said, offering the cup to Maya, “I couldn’t find any water.” He gave an apologetic smile along with the soda, failing to mention that he hadn’t looked that hard.

Collectibles

By creating Collectibles, you can reward your players with unique items that accentuate their character sheets.

Once an Item has been created, it can be spawned in the IC using /spawn Item Name (case-sensitive, as usual) — this can be followed with /take Item Name to retrieve the item into the current character's inventory.

Mobs

Give your Universe life by adding a Mob, which are auto-replenishing NPCs your players can interact with. Useful for some quick hack-and-slash fun!

Mobs can be automated spawns, like rats and bats, or full-on NPCs complete with conversation menus. Use them to enhance your player experience!

No mobs have been created yet.

Mistakes are a part of life, they don’t define us. What’s important is how you pick up the pieces, and if you put yourself back together stronger or not.
