Introduction
After those many years of war, peace finally filled Terra. Under the guidance and teachings of the dragons, including the aid of the other races, the humans began to work on bringing back their home to the way it once was. They learned the arts of magic and spells, advancing on clean methods of growing by balancing the natural energies of the land. But, the damage that was brought about was far to great to repaired by natural means. So the dragons once again stepped in to save their shared land as each leader took it upon themselves to channel one of the four life energies that made up the land: Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. Each one absorbing one of the energies and channeling it across the land while the other races did smaller work spread out all across the many terrains. For centuries the dragons placed themselves as the key watchers of the life energies of the land as the humans prospered in unity with the other races.
But the long era of peace came to an end when Terra was under attack from a new foe from across the sea in a land called Xeron. The humans that were cast from Terra returned with a vengeance for their exile. Without the guidance of the dragons and other races, they progressed in the only way they had left: technology. While this method had indeed made them grow far stronger, it was with the great cost of their new home's resources as they now lived in a vast wasteland where even food has been reduced to artificial form. The ware raged on as the technologically advanced humans fought off against those unified with the races and skilled in the art of magic. The land once again was in a path of destruction as the attackers then learned of the dragon's new duty as they began to focus on claiming their ability to channel the land's energy to revive Xeron to a fertile land.
The four great dragons knew that the humans of Xeron would stop at nothing to claim their powers now for the sake of their own survival. Seeing the outcome of this battle, they made a final choice to put an end to the bloodshed. They trusted their knowledge to a human that was later titled Dragon Knight and gave him the task of guiding his race to a better future. The four great dragons then ended their lives as they became part of the life energies they watched over. News of their demise spread quickly through the races as the word of the Dragon Knight drew on their attention. In a mean to end the bloodshed, he offered to meet with the leader of the people of Xeron to form a peaceful truce between the human kingdoms. They finally came to terms with a deal that profited both nations. Xeron would trade their technology in exchange for Terra's resources, bringing about once again an era of peace as Terra slowly grew even more with the combination of magic and technology. While this grew small tensions with the other races, peace remained stable throughout the years to come.
But much scars remained after this war as tension between the human nations slowly grew over centuries. The people of Terra blamed Xeron for the death of the great dragons and for destroying their own land, even going far as accusing them of one day destroying Terra with their technology. The people of Xeron also remain holding a grudge against the people of Terra as they believe that they should be allowed to return to Terra once again. This dispute has gone for a long time, but the Dragon Knight's descendants would continue to take on the role to keep peace among the two nations so to carry on the great dragon's final request. Until one day an attack was done on the Dragon Knight and his family, ultimately ending the blood line. Many people of Terra quickly blamed Xeron behind it as the tension between them grew worse. The land once again is on the verge of war as both human nations are the center of attention among the other races of Terra. Throwing things even worse, several sightings of lands being drained of life by a strange force gives the people of Terra even more blame to throw at Xeron. The flames of war soon the turn into a great inferno by even the slightest spark now.
A hope still remains for a chance to save both Terra and Xeron. A survivor to the bloodline of the Dragon Knight remains in the form of a young girl. Carrying on the task of her ancestors, she embarks on a quest to seek out the only things possible to stop this looming threat: the reincarnations of the four great dragons. But a shadowed group that has formed ties between the two nations also begins to make their move as they send in a agents to make sure this war happens. Will Xeron and Terra fall to the fires of war once again?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Terra
Terra is a great fertile land made up wilderness, rivers, mountains, and plains. While humans inhabit the majority of the land, it is also shared by elves and Dwarves that each live in their respective lands. Elves living deep within the forests, living off the land in a much deeper bond then humans. Dwarves living deep within the mountains as they make a living mining for minerals with their deep understanding of the earth. The three main races, Humans, Elves, and Dwarves, make up the majority of Terra's inhabitance. For a long time the land had been without any technology of the sorts until only just recently. The signs of this new advancement can be seen within the human cities as everyday machines are slowly being replaced. (lighting, heating, etc) The Dwarves and Elves still remain without any technology as they hold true to their natural life style. Due to the Elves and Dwarves being in smaller numbers then the humans, they live in within one large settlement that they call home that is lead by a selected Chief. The Humans are more spread out in small towns to large cities while they instead have a king and council that leads them.
Xeron
Xeron is a land far across the sea where the outcast humans of Terra settled long ago. Without the guidance of the dragons to aid them in learning how to use magic they instead advanced with technology, putting them at an equal strength with Terra's magic. Sadly this way of living has dried up their resources and has made their land into nothing but a wasteland with advanced cities scattered across it's landscape. Their technology nearly places them in far ahead of their time. While their form of transportation is still land and sea, rumors have been going on that they are close to developing airborne travel. But, due to their resource limitations, they have kept the traditional close range weapons similar to those of Terra with slight upgrades. Only the high ranking officers are given the long range weaponry. The people of Xeron are a more military government with a Commander leading them and several generals underneath him to distribute his control among the cities.
Four Great Dragons
The four dragon leaders that helped rebuild the land long ago. Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. While dragons still exist in Terra, none can compare to the knowledge and power these four dragons held over the years. Each one watched over their selective element energy and channeled it throughout Terra to aid in it's recovery long ago. Due to the powers they held, some races, even a few humans, worshiped them to a degree despite their protest against such acts. By the time they finally ended their lives to finish the war, they bestowed their knowledge upon one that became known as the first Dragon Knight. They also informed him that the four of them would one day be brought back to the world through the energies that they combined with. Giving the Dragon Knight the task of protecting them from anyone that would wish to use their untapped powers.
Shade
Hardly anything is known of this group and many don't even know of their existence. A shady organization with deals and ties connecting them to both the nations of Terra and Xeron. Using this combined knowledge they have been the hidden puppeteer behind a number of events, including the assassination on the Dragon Knight's family and life.
For those of you wishing to add a race, group, etc to this story, PM me about the request and I'll see if it fits into the setting I have in mind. I enjoy hearing ideas to help build off of creativity to take these stories even farther.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 5 authors
But despite how comfortable it all felt, he can't just lay there all day. He slowly sits up, groaning a bit as he let out a loud yawn. He has to return to town before the day is through if he was to find a place to rest for the night. He heard that a festival was to be held in that small town, a memorial to the great dragons from long ago that the town has kept for centuries. They held close to the ways of the dragons and have even worked on setting things up by hand. That was a sight he wants to see at least once during his travels.
Standing up, he dusts the small blades of grass from his sides before stretching his arms upward into the air. The sun was still a ways from setting down, giving him enough time to make it to the town. He adjusts the blades on his sides as he starts to make his way toward the small dirty road. With his arms resting over the handles of his blades, he carries on casually down the road.
The young girl grinned. Coincidence? I think not.
But truly, if this road kept up, she might not even make it there on time! It should be close... Albany halted in the dirt, and eyed a nearby tree. If she climbed it, maybe she could see the town, and figure out if she was even going in the right direction?
She shrugged. Might as well. Walking over, Albany found a knot in the trunk and hefted herself up, climbing higher and higher. It was quite a large tree. What with all of the leaves, she would probably be invisible to any passerby. Three fourths of the way up, Albany leaned against the bark, popping her head out past a branch. Ah-hah! There it is! In the distance, there was a brownish smear that was unmistakably a town.
In good spirits and about to head back, the blonde glanced down and froze. There was a person at the foot of the tree! She had been climbing for a while, but Albany didn’t think she’d been at it that long. Huh. She squinted. It was probably a boy, and it seemed like he was sleeping?
Albany bit her lip. Better be quiet then. How rude would it be for her to just suddenly wake him up? So she crept down quietly, the wind in the branches hopefully masking any noises she might have made. It would be easy to get past him, considering they were on opposite sides of the tree. He was farther towards the forest, while she was closest to the road.
Seven feet off of the ground, Albany was suddenly tugged back by something catching on the edge of her tunic. On a reflex, she glanced back at the guy only to see that he wasn’t there anymore. She panicked. Wait, so where is he? Did I wake him up? Distracted, Albany pulled a little too hard and the branch she was snagged on, snapped, sending her sprawling forward.
With a yelp, Albany tumbled from the tree, plummeting straight towards the guy, who for some reason was directly below her.
Albany braced herself for impact.
"...ow...." He groans out in a muffling tone before turning his head to the side to glance up on his back. He sees a girl around his age on his back. The broken branch beside her hinting where exactly she was before her crashing on top of him.
"There are better ways to greet people." He comments up to her, grunting as he moves his arms up to push himself off the ground. Slowly pushing her off of him. Feeling the back of his head where he got the brunt of the "attack", he makes sure all was in order before looking back at the girl before him.
"You ok?"
"There are better ways to greet people." Albany swallowed, her creased eyebrows making her forehead ache. “I’m so sorry!”
She watched him get to his feet, and her eyes widened when he began nursing the back of his head. "You ok?"
But Albany ignored him, rushing forward. “Hey... you’re hurt, aren’t you?” She placed one hand on his shoulder, the other lightly brushing the side of his head. “Bend over for me, will you?”
Albany moved her other hand, tilting the stranger’s head downwards, and standing up on her tip-toes. “Tell me if I hurt you.”
Stomach tight, she scanned the back of his head with an analytical gaze, trying to see past the stranger’s brown hair. Hesitant, she ran her fingers over where it seemed a wound might be, only to find a slight bump. Albany sighed with relief, moving backwards. “Oh, phew, there’s just a bump, nothing to worry about.”
Suddenly it occurred to her that this guy was a complete stranger. “Oh, I’m Albany, by the way. Sorry for, uh, landing on top of you.” Albany shifted in place, feeling like she was forgetting something... "Oh! My map!"
The blonde turned away, feeling up her tunic, and fishing the piece of bark from her sash. Her lips turned downwards, and her stomach dropped. Well, she found it all right, but in several pieces. The bark must have crumbled underneath her weight.
Ever since the humans had been planning to visit this 'dragon festival' Marifra had felt rather- strange. She was used to escorting the humans to all sorts of 'festivals,' but she had felt particularly drawn to this one and she couldn't really figure out why. Besides technology, dragons and the lore surrounding them was the most fascinating thing to her. A small smile tugged at the edges of her lips as a very fond memory came to mind. Her and her friends back in the dwarven village always pretended to be dragons. She had always been the wind dragon, since that was the only magic she was actually comfortable at using.
"Please!" the elf blurted, interrupting Marifra's train of thought, "We've been running all day! Can we stop and rest!" he had always been bold with the humans. They were very kind, though, and treated us nicely.
"Ah, yes sorry about that!" The plump human man said, running a hand over his thick black mustache. "How about you two stop and rest up there, and we'll make the rest of the trip alone? We're only ten minutes from the town! We can meet up later tonight."
"Ten minutes?" the elf pondered, "In that case, I'll just make the rest of the trip."
"If you don't mind," Marifra huffed, "I'll take you up on that offer!" she said her farewells, then slowed to a content walk, taking deep breaths. As she caught her breath, she started enjoying the walk. Up ahead, she noticed two individuals laying on the ground next to each other, and narrowed her eyes. They were probably also heading to the dragon festival.
“A festival, hm?” He told to himself, tapping his lips. “This will surely attract some people, and probably rich ones too.” He clapped his hand happily and grinned widely. “On the plus side, it will be easy to sneak around if it is really as popular as the people at the tavern back then.” He rubbed the back of his head. “My, my, I should really stop talking to myself. People will start to think I'm insane.” He would then chuckled a bit, holding his necklace. “But of course, than wouldn't be a surprise.”
He hasted his steps down the road, but he was soon stopped by a gang of bandits. They probably came to enjoy the festival as well. His grin couldn't stop getting wider as one of the bandits pulled out his dagger and pointed it towards Meik.
“Gives us all your precious belongings and we won't hurt you.” The guy with the dagger said as the others just smirked at him, laughing.
“Guys, guys, there's no need for all of this violence.” He said, advancing as he removed his necklace. “I mean, it would be very sad...” he said as he put his necklace into the bandit's hands, grabbing it, “It would be very sad, indeed.” He said, using his full body to twist the bandit's arm. The bandit let a small scream of pain as he fell to the ground, twisting in pain. The other unsheathed their daggers as Meik offered a small smirk.
“Amateurs” the thief said as he gracefully jumped up in the air to dodge the first one's attack to land on the other man's head. He said there for a bit, giggling a bit as the bandit tried to grab him. Soon, the other bandit thrust his dagger, trying to reach the thief's leg, but he jumped out of the way, and it hit right in the bandit's shoulder's. He fell to the ground while Meik delivered a strong down kick into the last one's head, leaving him unconscious.
After his little fight, the thief took some of their coins in his pouch. “This will be the fee of keeping y'all alive.” He chuckled as he set himself back on the track to the town, until he felt something hitting the back of his head, causing him to fall to the ground. Meik groaned a bit, blood flowed down his forehead due to the impact on the rocks, and he turned around only to find himself in front of a dagger blade.
“I think we need to teach you a lesson,” the one with the twisted hand said towards the thief as he held his dagger. Meik grinned still.
“Lesson of what? Kicking your ass more?” He said mockingly, but it only forced another punch to his head. This time, he coughed up blood, but still grinned.
'Damn,' he thought, 'it would be in those moments where someone would pop out of nowhere and save the victim.' He chuckled under his breath, keeping a grinning face up to the bandit.
NOW things got embarrassing. He was just about to speak back to her when she suddenly let go of him, turning around as she said something about a map. He wasn't all to sure what she was talking about since all she took out was the broken remains of a piece of bark in her hands.
"Um...are you ok?" He asks her once again. This time referring to more then just her physical condition. "I'm not one to really but into other's problems, but it seems that piece of bark was important. Right?" He slowly walks around her, trying to get a better look at the remains in her hands and her expression for a better feel of the situation.
the day so far, he was walking along the mountain path as he stretched and said to himself, '' Seth, old boy. You did it again.''
He had just got back from a hunting trip and he got about three fish and a morning dove. Seth grinned to himself as he made his way down the mountain trail. Seth all of a sudden stopped dead in his tracks, when he heard what sounded like a fight down the road.
Seth climbed down a few rocks and peered over the edge of the mountain trail he was currently on, and looked below on another path. Seth saw one guy fighting about seven others. Seth was about to leave him alone, when he saw the one get punched and blood started to steam from his mouth. Seth sighed, put his dead fish, and morning dove on the ground, behind a bush. He stretched and said, '' Alright. Time to prove your worth.'' He took his hankerchief and put it around his face, so his identity to stay hidden. Seth walked over to the edge and slid down the rocky wall below.
He landed on the ground with a light thud, Seth looked up and smiled. He unsheathed his sword, and said, '' Hey, pick on someone your own size.'' He smiled and stepped closer, the group of bandits turned around and looked at Seth. They only smiled and the leaderr said, '' Oh, boys look! It's the mountain boy!'' The leader laughed at his own joke, even though it was quite stupid. Seth only shrugged and said, '' You should fight without even numbers. Now leave or I will kill you.'' The leader only laughed and quickly made his way towards Seth, with one quick slash, Seth took his sword and sliced the leader's upper arm. The bandit grabbed his arm and winced in pain as the blood oozed out of the wound.
Seth grinned and said,'' Anyone else?!'' The other bandits swiftly made their way towards Seth. Seth grabbed his shield from his back, swung his sword a few times, and got ready for more. He looked at the guy across the path and said, '' You can join in anytime!'' as he swung his sword and sliced another bandit's arm.
Meik quickly joined into his hero fight; he couldn't miss the occasion for a bit of fun in duo. Even though he didn't like blood, he judged that the situation call for some injuries. He assured of the stranger's back as he thought that the stranger would assure his. He sliced some of the bandits' arm as they winced on the ground in pain, but he most often knock them out of consciousness. After the small battle, he let out a small sigh, looking towards the stranger.
“Hey, thank you very much. For a moment, I thought I might be roasted for a moment.” He said with still a smirk, and offered a hand to shake. “My name is Meik; it is nice to meet you. And you are?” By nature, he was curious, even if he came alone. He thought that if he made acquaintance with people that will be around the festival, it will be easier for him to be innocent if he is ever seems to be innocent. Besides, a good first impression is always the best, right? Either way, he kept the dagger he had stolen from the bandit, thinking it might be good to have two of them.
