Introduction

Welcome to Flora.

Flora. The small dot on a map that most people question could even be called a city. But it is, and just like its lack of size on a map, it's perhaps the smallest city you'll ever end up in. But it's here, here in Flora, that you'll see things like never before. The place where Werewolves have breakfast with wizards; where vampires have lunch with fairies; and where humans have dinner with their dhampir landlords.

But it's where these creatures of walks of life eat that seems to matter most. Haven't you heard? Flora's hot-spot location to grab a bite of whatever it is you enjoy is in the downtown district. You've heard of it, everyone has. Steelie's Diner. Owned by a middle-aged woman who's seen more than enough in her lifetime to suffice anyone's conversational needs. Don't be bothered by the aged outside appearance or the worn out fabric of the cushioned seats- there's always something to make up for the stains on the wooden tables.

Want to fall in love? You'll meet someone. Want to hunt a necromancing criminal? One's sure to show up soon. Want to eat your lunch in peace and then get back to your low-end job? Well, you can try...

Map

110 Lax Street by Smurfette

The aged sidewalk widens to the left, where the front entrance to Steelie's Diner is marked by the hanging street sign above its front door. The brick building looks decrepit and near to falling down, but it's long from going anywhere.

Steelie's Apartment by Smurfette

Small and cramped- like most any apartment in a decrepit brick building and built above a diner. It has a total of three rooms; a cramped bathroom with an even more cramped shower, a bedroom just large enough to hold a queen size size bed wedged against the wall and a dresser opposite it- no closet, and a studio room complete with a sofa as old as time and a TV to boot, a messy kitchen, and a two-person dining table stacked to the limit with papers, packets, magazines and books. Marissa Steelie has been known to, on rare occasion, allow customers to stay here in times of extenuating circumstances.

Marissa Steelie sighed heavily as she slid her silver key into the aged dead bolt of the front door of the diner. She lived in a tiny, compacted apartment above the place, so of course she kept the door at the base of the stairs locked- last thing she needed or wanted was some stranger walking into her bedroom to ask for fries and a glass of blood.

"Four AM." The woman muttered to herself under her breath. "Just twenty four hours round the clock to go, and maybe today will be the day I catch a break and hire some new, unfortunate soul to work for me so I can get some sleep for once."

Yuki ran down the concrete path, her worn shoes tap tap tapping along the pavement. She could now see the cafe from the distance and a blurred figure standing out front. Her shoes had almost given way by the time she reached the path across from the diner. She stood there, staring at the glowing sign 'Steelie's Diner' it said, she could almost feel the taste buds on her tongue jumping for joy, for once, she could get a proper meal!

Isabella strode confidently down Lax Street, her black heels clacking softly on the sidewalk. She was approaching Steelie's Diner, the glowing sign brilliant against the night sky. She nervously adjusted her locket before entering the doors.

"This is it" she smiled tightly, her nose overwhelmed with the delicious smell of food... and blood. Taking one last calming breath, she approached a middle aged women. "Hi, I'm Isabella and I hear you have a job opening" she reached out her hand towards the women, hoping that she actually worked at the diner and wasn't some random women.

Yuki strode forward, bursting through the door.. then she noticed the two females, staring at her as she entered. Yuki sank and crawled over to the far end of the diner and sat, the embarrassment grew inside her, so she grabbed the menu and practically hid herself inside it. She stared at the words on the menu, squinting and tilting her head, attempting to read them, but it was no use, she couldn't read. Her poor education led her to great problems in her life, unable to write or read and not even able to spell her own name, but for now, she just sat and waited.

Another late night, another red eye back into the city. Food on the airlines now consisted of flat sodas, and peanuts; hardly anything worth writing home about.
Spotting the neon sign for Steelie's through the darkness, Aceline reveled in the quietness of the world before dawn. "Twenty-four hours hm?" She mumbled to herself as she pushed the door open causing a bell above the door to chime with it's movement.

Surveying the inside of the diner, it was clean and quaint, if not older; and in many ways better than the flat ginger ale and peanuts she had had hours earlier. "Hello?" She called not immediately seeing anyone.
