Connor pulled her jacket closer to herself as she made her way through the student parking lot of Beacon Hills High School. It was still about mid-September, but there was a nasty chill that had passed through the town for the past couple of days. She shivered, cursing herself for not wearing warmer clothes, as a particular breeze tickled the back of her neck. She had woken up quite late, and in a rush, had quickly thrown on a pair of black leggings, and oversized lacrosse jersey, and some white converse. Her sporty casual look was also tied in with a fishtail braid that swung annoyingly back in forth as she walked. As the chill increased, she made an effort to hurry into the building, her lacrosse bag bouncing on her thigh as she jogged inside the school.

She saw some people that she knew, but no one in particular as she walked through the semi-crowded halls, it was still quite early in the morning for most people to get to the school, but she had to drop of her lacrosse gear in the locker room before class. She made sure to give quick smiles, and waves to people as she passed the same boring conversation starter at every corner. Hey Connor! How was your summer? Was her least favorite out of the bunch. Only a couple people stopped her to try and initiate conversation, but she quickly brushed them off with a small excuse.

She finally made it to the locker room and tossed her stuff on a bench while she made her way to her locker. Small, whispered conversations from the other girls in the locker room passed by her ear, but she tuned them out after she deemed them unimportant. With a small satisfying click of the lock, she grabbed her bag and shoved it inside the small locker having to work with it for a bit before she could finally fit it into the damned thing... The school really needs to up their budget.. She thought with a slight roll of her eyes, as she locked her locker back and left the room back out into the hallway.

As soon as her eyes snapped open, she knew that she was late. There was no background noise: no alarm, no dog barking, no Kureg dispensing. Nothing. Scarlet rolled over to look at her clock and froze: ten minutes behind schedule. Just another day in Beacon Hills.

Scar quickly got out of bed, still wearing her shorts and tank-top due to the inconsistent September weather, and prodded around her closet to find something acceptable to wear. She wasn't one to be picky about style, but it was her first day back and she liked to look nice at least one day in the school year. Choosing black leggings and a knit red sweater, she changed and threw on a pair of her favorite below-the-knee gray rain boots for good measure. When Scarlet looked at her hair in the mirror, she realized that her natural waves had set in overnight. Her hair was bright blonde and shoulder-length, and for the sake of time, she decided to leave it down. Once she brushed her teeth and packed her black canvas bag, she grabbed her lanyard and left her house. She had managed to not to wake her mother and grandmother in the process.

Once Scarlet arrived at school, she parked her black Jeep in her new parking space and locked it. She had managed to get ready quickly enough so that she wasn't as late as she should have been. School hadn't started yet, but she liked to be there early anyway. Shouldering her bag, she tossed her lanyard into it and started the trudge up the steps and into Beacon Hills High School.

Every high school reeks of desperation and hormones. Today is no exception; kids already buzz around the lockers, meeting up with the friends they haven't seen in months. As she strides past classrooms, she notices the teachers holed up in their rooms, praying for another vacation even though school hasn't even started yet. The freshly waxed floors have already been trampled by at least one hundred students and it shows. The lockers that had explicit drawings and swears have been painted over, a clean slate for the artist. As Scarlet passes a group of freshmen boys, she notices they have taken advantage of this opportunity. Sometimes she hears a few greetings from groups lining the halls and calls back, but she doesn't stop to make conversation. Her eyes flit across the numbers labeling the lockers on her right side until she finally sees hers: #1776. This has been her locker for three years now, so she knows what will be there when she unlocks it and swings open the door; there's graffiti all over the inside walls. It brings a smile to her face as she shoves her bag into it and closes the door, remembering the first time she had opened her locker. What was not to love about high school?

"I feel like I'm a pawn in a game I don't understand."
Johnny Halbrook | Human | Homosexual | 16 | 5'9"

It was about 30 minutes before classes started when the large, black Rolls-Royce pulled up in front of the school. Stopping just off the curb of the main sidewalk leading up to the front doors. Once in park, the driver’s door opened and a man of about 30 started to get out. Dressed in a suit and tie, the man only made it out of his door and managed to turn around before he paused in front of his door and watched the rear door open. As it did, out stepped Johnny, a young teen of about 16 years old with blonde hair and blue eyes, who was dressed in a pair of brown pants, well worn, casual Ruida shoes, along with a short sleeve shirt beneath a red hoodie, and a denim jacket over that. As he got out of the car, pulling a large, black backpack out with him, he looked over to the driver and waved his hand in a dismissive gesture as if to imply he should’ve bothered getting out and said, “Thanks Mr. Edwards. I’ll call you when I get out.” The man simply nodded before replying, “Very well, Mr. Halbrook. Hope you have a good day.” Pulling his bag up, over his left shoulder, Johnny turned back to the school and, running his hand threw his already messy hair, sighed and thought to himself, Me too. He then made his way up the wide sidewalk leading up to the doors as he heard his driver get back into the car, shut the door and drive off.

He got a few looks from people, though most of their muttering seemed to consist of comments about the fact that he’d been driven to school in a car like that. That’s a good start, he thought to himself. Eventually, he made it up the front steps and through the front doors to find a ton more people. This school dwarfed his old school and in fact, he began to think this school probably had as many students as his hometown had people in general. “Wow,” he mumbled to himself as his steps slowed. As they did though, a bigger guy, seemed to be a senior, with an entourage of people with him, bumped into Johnny. To which Johnny, out of habit, responded with, "Oh, excuse me," his Southern accent still pretty thick and obvious when he spoke. Of course the guy just retorted with, "Watch where you're going, new kid," and his friends snickered, making comments among themselves about Johnny as they walked away. Johnny couldn't really do anything other than sigh and make his way down the halls, hoping he'd be able to find the office in this giant building this town called a school.

"Come on, Kayla. It's been an entire summer. When are you going to stop pretending like I'm not your type? I'm kinda everyone's type," Christian boasted, leering down at Michaela's face and she pulled off a very dramatic eye roll that the two girls standing beside her could see.

There were a few reasons why Michaela actually liked being late for school. For one, it meant more time to eat. She loved food too much to have rushed through the beignets and quick omelettes she had made for her sister and herself when she first woke up. It was a blessing she managed to look cute and practical today considering this one time last year where she wore this bomb printed dress but wasn't prepared for the icy breezes that attacked her unsuspecting flesh. Two, she would not have had to deal with people leaning themselves against her car in the parking lot because they just so happened to park beside her and that obviously meant leaning against her vehicle so that they could wait for their late ass friends. And a day after she had washed the damn thing!? Rude!! Three and probably most importantly, she wouldn't have to deal with this.

"Chris, I would honestly rather catch herpes from that sweet homeless guy in the warehouse district than from you and whomever else you decided to eat out under the bleachers," she replied with a straight face and the girls - not even real friends, if she was being honest - tittered amongst one another. Michaela didn't even care to look back at Christian's dejected expression. She simply squeezed herself past the group and headed to her locker. Once there, she opened it and slid her brown leather jacket inside. She wouldn't need it until later considering she had no plans to return outside any time soon. While she emptied her bag of what she would need for the next two class periods, she pulled out her phone to see where the hell Oleander was and check in with Aiden. It was a bit rare to see one without the other and while it wasn't that big of a deal since Michaela was fine by herself, she would rather talk about this back-to-school party with her best friend than a bunch of lacrosse fan girls who wanted to know if she could "get them in" with some of the players. After a week of pretending to be good students to fool teachers into a false sense of security, the party was mandatory and past due.

As he had all of last week, her father drove her to school this morning. He continued to promise her that he was going to buy her a car this year, but with the move, and buying a house, Charlotte knew that immediately getting a car just wasn't in their budget. She wasn't bratty enough to complain about it, but every morning as she watched other teenagers drive into the student lot, she felt more and more embarrassed that her father was driving her to school. "I think you're going to like it here, Charlie. Really," he said as he gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. "And I know you've heard this too many times in the past, but this really is the last move. I want you to like this place. Open up, make friends, have fun." She tried her best to make the smile on her face genuine, but she knew she fell short. It was not only hard to believe that this really would be the last move, but even if it was, did it matter? She was going to go off to college next year anyway, so was it worth it to try to make friends anyway? She didn't know. It was something that had been on her mind since she and her father had flown across the country two weeks ago to start their new lives here. On one hand, it really didn't make sense to invest, once again, in people who already had friends and probably didn't need some random girl joining their friend group when in ten months, they would all be graduating. On the other hand, she did desperately want some sort of normality in her life. She wanted people to go to prom with, people to talk to in class, someone to sit with at lunch... and she had a lifetime worth of experience that told her that surface level friendships didn't give her all of that. "Yeah Dad, I know. I will." It was the only response that she could give him before getting out of the car and closing the door behind her. While her dad had been the reason for all of their moves in the past, this relocation could only be blamed on her mother, so she didn't want to seem cold towards her dad, when she knew that he was hurting too. Still, she didn't turn around to offer a wave as she walked into the school building, because this was it... She was going in and there was no turning back now.

This wasn't the first day of school at Beacon Hills but Charlotte still felt like she was walking into the jungle, even though she had spent the last week here too. Beacon Hills wasn't the largest school she had attended. It wasn't the most diverse or the most elite. Still, it intimidated her. She was seventeen years old, a senior, and more aware and insecure of the fact that she felt friendless in a school of people who all knew each other. The mornings might have been the time that proved this the most. At least Charlotte felt like that now, as she tried to navigate through the crowded halls to reach her locker. When lunch time came and she realized that she had no one to sit with, or when a teacher requested students pair up and she had no one to lock eyes with, she would think the same thing, that that was when she felt most alienated from the rest of her new classmates.

When she reached her locker, she spotted one of the few faces that she could actually match a name to, a few lockers away. It was Michaela Donovan, a girl who lived a few houses away from her. Charlotte really only knew her because her father couldn't stop talking about how great it was to be living near a cop. His reasoning wasn't necessarily for protection, since he was a retired military man and prided himself in being able to protect what was his on his own, but his reasoning was that with a cop just down the block, there would be someone to arrive on the scene of the murder quickly, if someone ever tried to break into their house and her father had to "teach them a lesson". Aside from knowing her from their street, Michaela had a look to her that wasn't one that was easily forgotten. She was pretty in a way that was unique, and yet hard to deny. It was sort of intimidating, really. Charlotte was a pretty girl too, but she felt like the way that she looked was average. The way that Michaela looked was anything but average, and topped with her bold personality, or at least the bits of it that Charlotte had seen so far, she kind of made Charlotte a little bit nervous. Those nerves kept her from trying to befriend the girl, even though her dad insisted that it would be convenient in terms of getting a ride to school every morning, and even though they had a few classes together. They made her keep her eyes on her locker as she unloaded some books from her backpack and picked out the ones that she would need for the day.

Image Today was a mess. With her hair down and knotted and her shirt wrinkled at the end, Kennedy walked through the halls to get to her home room. Why is this school so big She wondered as she groaned. People pushed her aside before she could even try to get through the main lobby. This is what you get for coming in late.

The chatters of teeth as people spread summer news began to make her cringe. The sounds were as loud as bombs goin goff in her ears. The smells, the air, it was all different, all unfamiliar. She could feel the power within the schools walls. There was a pack here, but she didn't know who was in it. It made her feel uneasy and vulnerable, something she doesn't enjoy. It would take her a few days or so before she felt comfortable in another packs territory. who knew how long it would take before she would be able to join a pack on her own.

Are they here? Do they know I'm here she wondered. She tried to feel around to find the werewolves in Beacon Hills High School. Nothing came up. It was no use. She was too weak and her skills were too underdeveloped to even be able to find them if she wanted too. She'd have to wait for them to find her.

As students began making their way to different classrooms, Ken gave out a soft sigh and re-adjusted her backpack on her shoulder. She was one of those people who would only wear the strap on one side and let the other fall. It was like a symbol of "coolness" in her mind. She looked back down at her schedule. Beacon Hills, Why are you so confusing? She looked up at the signs on the walls. This way? Maybe? It was clear that anyone who took a look at her could tell she was confused, but with the best fake smile she tried to look like a senior who knew her way around this place. Scarlet would know where this place was.

As more people passed by it was clear that she stood out like a sore thumb. She walked by as people watched her, almost as if they were asking the question "Who's that?" to themselves. It was a bit odd. Why would someone move to another school just for senior year?

Passing room after room and locker after locker, she finally noticed a familiar smell. Lemon and rosemary, a unusual combination, but one recognizable. "Hey Scarlet!" She shouted as she made her way across the 1700's lockers. "Scar!" She shouted again as she ran to her. "Very important question!" Kennedy huffed. "Where in the universe is this room?" She asked as she handed over a copy of her schedule to Scarlet.

When Scarlet heard her name being called, her head snapped in that direction and she witnessed Kennedy, her new found friend, pushing through the hall towards her. "Hey Scarlet! Scar! Very important question! Where in the universe is this room?" She laughed at how out of place Kennedy seemed to be, being knew to Beacon Hills this year. She took the schedule from her hand and looked for the room number that she was looking for. Hey eyes widened once she noticed which class it was. "Well, just your luck, that's my first period class too! We can walk there together." She smiled warmly, thinking how nice it was to have a new friend in this town. Everyone always seemed to know everyone and nothing exciting seemed to happen ever. It was nice to have a change for once.

Scar shut her locker, checked the room number on Kennedy's schedule once more before handing it back it to her, and set off towards the room. "So, have you made any more friends yet since you've been here? Besides me, of course," she asked sweetly as they walked past hordes of people at their lockers or walking on the wrong side of the hallway. She passed a few of her other friends and waved. "Hey Ashley! Hey Kay," she yelled over the din of the students. They replied back and she moved on to the next crowd. She had lived there long enough and it was a small enough school that she knew almost everyone there. She was also part of a Mentor program to help new students get around and make new friends if they chose to participate.

"I feel like I'm a pawn in a game I don't understand."
Johnny Halbrook | Human | Homosexual | 16 | 5'9"

After leaving the school's admin office with his schedule in hand, Johnny made his way down the halls of Beacon Hills High. The hallway was beginning to die down a little as 8:00 approached and students were beginning to file into their respective classrooms. Now, all that was left was for Johnny to find where the hell English III was. Moving quickly, exchanging glances between the door numbers and the schedule in his hand, Johnny was quickly weaving out of crowds, dodging other students as they walk to their own classrooms, all probably knowing where they were going. But after a few minutes, he began to get the hang of the way the school was laid out and after a minute, he could see what should be his classroom just down the hall.

As Johnny came up to the door, he noticed up the halls a few more students moving as slow as he was to the first class of the day, Scarlet and Kennedy. Good, that didn't make him feel so disorganized. Usually, he was more on top of things. Before....all that had happened he always enjoyed being on time and in control of his schedule but now.....he felt less and less in control of pretty much everything. As he walked into the room, Johnny looked over at the dry-erase board and smiled as he saw what was written in all caps. "English III, thank God," Johnny said to himself as he moved over to an open desk, which had a few open desks around it. He pulled a notebook and a pen out of his backpack before tossing it under the desk and then sitting down.

Sitting there, alone, in a new school, with new people, he'd never felt so alone but so free of the past. Maybe moving was exactly what the doctor ordered.

"Tate get up!" Harvey, Tate's 'father', barked whilst flicking his bedroom lights on and off. Only receiving a groan from Tate, he was really anything but a morning person. It didn't take long until Tate's blankets were tugged from him and he was pulled by his ankles out the warm embrace of his bed. He was already late for school, about fifteen minutes to be exact. He'd usually get up by himself but today, a lot like other days, not so much. This year, being Tate's senior year, was supposed to be different. Different meaning no missing school just because he felt like it or not even trying to undertake homework like he used to, he made a promise to Harvey and he was already letting him down. By this time Harvey left, leaving Tate with the decision whether to keep his promise or over look it, and Tate never breaks promises.

He quickly got up from his heap of blankets that had formed upon the floor, and began to get dressed. Being someone who's never been one for fashion, Tate looked around his room, throwing on the first things he could find not bothering to mess with his hair. Once done dressing he ended up wearing an old torn pair of blue jeans, a plain black shirt followed by his infamous leather jacket gifted to him by his mom when he was a boy. It never fit him when he was young, only now as he was just growing into it, but that didn't stop him from wearing it whenever he could. He then grabbed his worn, maroon backpack and was out the door and into the chilly september air.

Tate use to look forward to school when he was younger, but not as much anymore. Tate didn't know that many people in his school, nor did he know the building that well. He officially moved to Beacon Hills around the end of summer, not giving him much time to meet potential friends or atleast have an idea of what the people of Beacon are like. The walk to Beacon Hills high school wasn't long yet, Tate wished he could've kept walking. It wasn't his first day either, he'd already been attending the school for about a week now. But still as much as he'd like, no real friends have been made. Tate rushed through the building doors and headed straight for the office, signing himself in since he'd already missed a bit of first period, and then headed to his class which happened to be English III.

The teacher was mid lecture when Tate rushed in, he was quickly told to take a seat, earning glares from everyone. He ran a hand through his hair, disheveling it even more, as he plopped down in a seat next to a blonde boy not much smaller than him. Tate didn't know his name, he wasn't exactly good at names, but he did know for certain the whole aura given off by him interested Tate. He had seen him in the class but never took the chance to do a double take. The boy didn't seem to notice Tate's staring, though neither did Tate.

Image Relief started to set in as she heard Scarlet's voice. It was at least something more familiar to her than the school. "Well, just your luck, that's my first period class too! We can walk there together." "Great."She said with a small smile. She took back the schedule in her right hand as she re adjusted her bag on her shoulder once more. She followed after Scarlet to the room.

Passing by lockers and crowds of people Kennedy watched over the halls with careful eyes. Beacon Hills was a small school in retrospect, but at this moment, it seemed like it was the size of the world. She kept track of everyone around her. Trying to pick up the atmosphere of the school, overhearing some of Scarlet side conversations with varying groups of people. Scarlet seemed to know everyone there. "So, have you made any more friends yet since you've been here? Besides me, of course,". Scarlet asked her. Kennedy flashed back into the conversation with Scarlet. "Umm, well, not really." She huffed. "But I'm sure I'll get to know others soon."

More doors seemed to pass and people seemed to appear and vanish as they walked. Bells rang and she knew she was going to be late, but at least there was another person who was going to be late with her. They finally made it to the class, English III. Kennedy didn't particularly like English, but something about the atmosphere of the students as she walked into the room. Something set her off. The teacher gave them a quick look as if to find a seat quickly. Kennedy found an open desk next to the window in the back row. Scarlet left her mind as she took in familiar scents from around. "What is that?" She mumbled silently and she began taking in more of the smell to find the memory it was linked too.

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows that it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter if you are the lion or the gazelle--when the sun comes up, you'd better be running." -Christopher McDougall

As they walked through the halls, Scarlet notices Kennedy's attention shift to the hordes of people around them. She couldn't blame her really; there were so many and she was new to the school. When she told Scarlet that she hadn't met anyone else yet, she wasn't that surprised. Everyone here was pretty tight-knit and to get into a group of friends was almost impossible without really good people skills and a guide. "Don't worry about it. I'll introduce you to some of my friends if you want later. Or anyone you might be interested in that you might've picked out?" It came out more as a question, a friendly suggestion or hint at anyone she's seen so far. When she heard the bell, she internally groaned. She hated being late, but maybe her teacher would understand when he saw that she had been showing a new kid around...

When they finally made it to English III, she gave a sigh of relief. Honestly, they probably weren't even that late; it just felt like they were because she wasn't used to it. The minutes always dragged on to her, but English was one of her favorite classes and she was excited to start. They slipped in the door and Scarlet gave the teacher a quick apologetic smile before surveying the room. She had a few friends in the class, a lot of people she had grown up with, but also a few more new faces. She would have to find out who they were later. Scarlet quickly took an empty seat near the front of the room, since there weren't many left open, and took out a notebook and a blue pen. She had made an effort to sit near another new face to try and get to know everyone and had sat in front of a new boy. He had shaggy, light brown hair and dark eyes, pale skin and a muscular build. As she realized she wasn't focusing on the lecture, she mentally scolded herself and started to take notes.

ImageAs Johnny began to arrange his supplies on his desk in his preferred setup, the teacher began to speak, beginning with something about the origins of language and the beginning of literature. He then moved from that to a quick recounting of how most civilizations starts in human's earliest days had oral traditions, passing their history and stories of the past through spoken word, not by writing. Of course, this was all stuff that Johnny knew. He had been known at his old school for being one of, if not the smartest kids there. He'd skipped both 7th grade and had skipped half of freshman year, which was why he was younger than everyone else here. He was a 16 year old senior and he wasn't sure if that was a good thing yet.

As the man at the head of the class continued with his lecture, clearly enjoying the area of study he taught, Johnny leaned forward, placing his cheek into his and resting his elbow on the desk top. As he did so, he absentmindedly placed the tip of his pin between his lips and began to flick it up and down, a nervous habit of his. But as he did so, his attention was quickly drawn to another teen who entered the class, quite late, which clearly annoyed the teacher, who just told him to take a seat. But despite the glares that most students seemed to be giving, Johnny could only stare. Damn, were all California guys as good looking as him? Johnny thought to himself as he watched Tate walk in and sit down, not realizing he hadn't taken his eyes off the guy since he'd walked in.

But as he continued to watch him sit, Johnny finally regained his wits and turned away, looking forward, not being able to shake the feeling that.... Was he staring at me? Johnny asked himself. No. There was no way. Please, he thought, He's' gotta be a basketball player with that height and I'm...well... Just as that thought crossed his mind, two more students entered late. These were two girls, one dark headed, the other as blonde as Johnny. They were pretty and apparently the teacher didn't mind that they were late. Johnny just snickered to himself about that fact.

Then the teacher finally paused to ask the class a question. "Right. So can anyone tell me what is commonly considered the oldest literary work in human history? Not the oldest story, but just the oldest written piece," the man asked, looking around the room to see who'd give it a shot. One student, a young female raised her hand and guessed, "Beowulf?" The teacher smiled and replied, "While that is one of, if not the oldest English work we know of, it's not the oldest work known to mankind. Does anyone know that one is?" The man then took a step forward and shut the textbook on one of the students in front's desk and added with a chuckle, "Without looking it up."

Johnny looked around the room and just shrugged and raised his hand, since it didn't seem anyone else was going to answer. The teacher pointed to him and said, "Yes, Mr.....Halbrook?" Johnny nodded in confirmation that, that was his name and then said, "Most historians consider the Epic of Gilgamesh to be the oldest known piece of literature, written about 3,000 years ago by the first known civilization, the Sumerians." Even the teacher seemed to be a bit caught off guard by how Johnny just prattled off the information right off the top of his head and nodded as he replied, "Yes. That's correct, Mr. Halbrook. And without your cell phone, very good." The class snickered a bit at that, as did Johnny who couldn't help but blush a little as he realized most eyes were on him. But the teacher quickly shifted into his next lecture, discussing the importance of literature to history and all that. And as if given a queue, Johnny placed the pen back between his lips and began to flick it back and forth, wondering if the lecture would contain something that he didn't already know, and thus would actually need his pen and paper. In the least, the teacher seemed to like what he was doing and at least was willing to try and make the class entertaining.

Tate snapped out of his daze as the teacher rose his voice, no discreetly trying to get his attention, he then began to continue his lecture of old pieces of literature. English III was interesting to Tate, he was sometimes completely fascinated about the history of literature or epic poems written in the 8th century. But lots of thing interested him, so it didn't take long for him to once again get distracted, this time it was from two girls barging into the classroom. They shot the teacher some shy eyes, causing him to smile and nod his head in a motion saying take a seat. Tate rolled his eyes, People and their inability to resist a pretty face.. Tate thought as the blonde and raven haired girls took their seat, one plopping behind Tate.

Class went on for a few second longer uninterrupted, before a smell crept into Tate nose. His head perked up at the familiar scent, a mixture of tree bark and dew, a weird concoction but the smell was distinct. Tate hastily glanced around the room, his eyes swiftly glowing a light blue due to his heart rate hastening. When he noticed the change in his eyes he glued them shut mentally cursing himself, hoping no one had noticed as he steadied his breath. He shook his head and attempted to pay attention, once he felt his pulse drop he looked around the room once more to see if anyone noticed but didn't see any shocked stares. None that he caught that is.

"You were just overreacting, you smell weird things all the time." Tate whispered to himself. Would it really be that bad anyway? To meet another werewolf? his mind began to race but he stopped himself. A few more minutes after the whole ordeal, Tate had put it in the back of his mind, blaming the smell on the open window in the back of the class and a gust of wind. It was crazy but kept his mind of it. Tate began to pay attention to the lecture fully now, no more distractions. He paid attention just to hear the teacher smugly ask the class a question, one girl hesitantly rose her hand but was incorrect.

Tate tried to think for a minute but didn't really have an idea at the moment, until the blonde boy next to Tate rose his hand. "Most historians consider the Epic of Gilgamesh to be the oldest known piece of literature, written about 3,000 years ago by the first known civilization, the Sumerians." the boy answered, as Tate smirked as the teacher was even a bit taken aback. Even Tate was stunned, the boy was smart most likely the smartest one in the class even if he looked a bit young for the class in the first place, but he was also not to mention good looking with made Tate infatuated with him. "Good job, blondie." Tate whispered to the boy, almost automatically regretting his petty attempt to sound cool as he gnawed on his bottom lip out of embarrassment, wishing he'd taken another moment to think through his word choices.
