Nobody really ever looked forward to spending time in the Field Marshal's office.
Narat stood at pointed attention as the commander of the city military and police force read through the documents. He tried not to sweat, having heard the rumors about the mans displeasure towards inefficiency and mistakes. This man was called 'The Tyrant' for a reason after all. Dressed in a full uniform, wrinkles of a permanent scowl etched on to his face, and cold unrelenting eyes scanning the paper. Even when passive Commander James Tiraninot was a very unnerving person to be around, and the long silence of having the details of the report being judged made Narat all the more uncomfortable.
"And what of the details from the production line? Are they capable of manufacturing this on a larger scale?" He asked, finally breaking the quiet and causing the researcher to almost flinch slightly. "Uh, yes if the right modifications are made to the equipment. If we convert the assembly line in station four then we could have forty produced within a week." Tiraninot simply nodded and flipped the page over. "Have the prototype under go the next stage then. If it remains stable at a higher frequency then I will authorize mass assembly. Now what of the Black project?"
"We have the newest batch synthesized." The researcher said, holding up a box. Wordlessly, Tiraninot took it from him and placed it on the desk. He opened it, revealing several syringes filled with a black liquid. He picked on up and inspected it slowly. "We've managed to isolate some of the anomalies from the earlier variations." Narat explained. "This need brand is more potent then the previous version, with less as many side effects. Unfortunately it is still unready for human testing though."
"Does it still cause damage to nerve tissue?"
"No sir."
"Then, it will suffice for now." Tiraninot placed the needle back into the case. "You are dismissed. Leave the documents her for now. I wish to revue them further." Narat almost sighed at finally being allowed to leave. He began gathering up his brief case when the door to the office opened.
"Sir, we have an issue." Said the soldier that barged in. "It's the chaotic again. They did raid on one of the churches in cathedral square." The commander continued to read the documents, barely acknowledging his subordinate. "Has a team been sent down to deal with the issue?"
"Not yet s-" The soldier stopped mid speech. For the first time in several long minutes Tiraninot looked up from the documents. The unrelenting glare from his eyes fell on the sargent, causing him to lock up. "Then why are you wasting time here?" The commander growled. It took a few seconds for the soldier to find his voice again. When he did speak it came out as a stutter. "I-I... well there was s-something else. Sir."
"What!?"
"W-we have reports from church officials that one of the priest attacked was conducting human experimentation." There was silence For a few seconds, with only the ticking of a desk clock and the nervous sweating of the soldier and researcher. Finally the commander spoke. "Send and advanced team from the HEA unit down to see if they can track where the terrorist went." He closed the folder he was reading from an rose from his chair. "I'll take two squads down and confront this priest personally. Have someone give me the full details on the way there."
"Yes sir." The soldier replied, leaving and walking rather quickly to relay the orders, Narat filled out after him just as fast. Tiraninot sighed to himself as he opened a compartment under his desk, and pulled out a scabbard and sword. This was going to be a long day.
