Midgard

Alex was sitting on the roof overtop his room watching the rain fall. He stretched and laid back with his mouth open to catch the rain drops. He was tired, keeping the constant blowing of wind to a minimum around him took a lot of energy. All he wanted to do was sleep, but if he slept before his mother got home she'd worry. As late as it was, Alex was amazed she wasn't already back.

It didn't really matter all that much to him, Alex was just glad to have a few moments alone. All day in school surrounded by people, and most the time when he was at home his mother never left him alone. While he did indeed love his mom, she was overbearing and over-caring, and Alex got tired of it. The best things that came out of it were that his mother packed his lunch and snacks everyday, and he knew that someone cared about him and he could talk to someone whenever he wanted about anything, aside from his control over air/wind, that was secret. Alexander knew that eventually he would have to tell her, but for know he figured it was fine.

I wonder when she's getting home... I'm kind of hungry and I don't feel like making myself food. Right as he was thinking that, his mothers car pulled into the driveway. Well crap, she's going to see I'm soaked to the bone, and she's going to worry... Not that it actually mattered much, she was going to worry anyways, but he climbed down, went into his room, and changed as quickly as possible. He really hoped that she didn't hear the noise he made climbing in through his window, he didn't want her freaking out over something like that. He thought about everything quickly and looked at himself in the mirror. Cool, I look like I just got out of the shower. That should stop any unnecessary worrying. Alex admired himself for a few moments longer and then ran down the stairs to say hello to his mom.

Elizabeth Benoit walked into the house with her arms full of groceries, and Alex ran and grabbed a lot of them from her. He walked them over to the kitchen and set them on the counter.
"Hi mom!"
"Hello Alex."
His mom sounded tired, which was usual, but he figured she would at least be more enthusiastic. She walked over to the counter and started to put the groceries away talking, "getting ready for bed I see... I thought you were supposed to go out tonight."
Alex groaned. "That's right, I was supposed to go to the movies in Avalon."
Elizabeth pulled some money out of her purse and handed it to Alex. "To cover your movie expenses. However, you're going to have to fill up my car using your own money. It's running low and I forgot to get gas."
Accepting the money Alex hugged his mom and said goodbye. He really didn't want to go to the movies, but it was kind of a habit to go out once a month by himself. Normally he planned it all out in advance and remembered about it, but this time was different, he actually wanted to have a spontaneous night where instead of going by himself, he went with his friends. However he forgot, so he guessed he was going out alone, again. But at least it was better than absolutely nothing.

He stepped into the car and started her up, driving off into the night. I really don't want to go by myself... But who am I gonna get to go with me? Alexander was have a hard time trying to figure out if he really did want to pick anyone up to go with him when he found he was in Avalon. Suddenly a though sparked in his head... Avalon... There's a girl... I think her name is Calli? Right Calli? Yeah.. Calli. I know where she lives... Don't know her that well, I think she's a grade behind me or something... Might as well see if she want's to go, I've got no one else. So off Alex went to find Calli. He found the place he was pretty sure she lived in and knocked on the door... He really hoped someone he knew or at least kind of knew would answer.
