General Appearance

Sebastian, when fully dressed in his attire would properly be described as lanky. A tall, seemingly stretched out individual with slightly longer arms and legs than most his height. Flat foot, back straight he stands at a height of 5'9". However, underneath the exterior clothing reveals a toned body mass that has been hardened from time spent training his physical prowess, martial combat expertise and various dual swordsmanship techniques.

The most notable of his features by far is his hair. Fiery red, as if it had been singed in a pool of molten lava, and took away only its radiance. This outlandish hair color is what coined him the nickname 'Robin', his most preferred when it comes to simple pleasantries. He finds it simple, and dignified. Birds are free to roam as they please, and are chained down by none. His eyes are next on the list of attention grabbing features. They sparkle the color of the amber orange, like fossilized drops of molasses frozen in his head.

As for clothing, Sebastian has always been eager to sport the latest fashions in the realms of men's suits and ties. He finds that if a warrior can look as debonair on the battlefield as they do in the office, they are well on their way to achieving a greater potential. Often times he wears a matching black suit and tie, with black dress shoes, and the two crystal cuff links, one for each sleeve, which maintain the power of his elemental weapons. Beneath the coat of his suit is a long sleeve white button up shirt, with a mesh tank top woven of thin steel below that for extra protection from some of the more formidable opponents. The sheaths to his blades hang from either side, black leather bound and sculpted from mahogany. Inscribed on both sheaths are the Japanese runes "For Greatness" in a bright red nearly matching that of the hair on his head.

Personality
Intellegent Manipulative Passionate Determined Stoic Enigmatic

Once upon a time Sebastian might have been a less sinister individual. Those times have long since past, but such times should be addressed regardless. Before his nobody came to be, he existed as a human named Alexander. He was fiercely intelligent just as his nobody, though before he had a chance to flourish, his body became ill, doomed to an early extermination. This made him grow spiteful and resentful toward everyone else, which inevitably led to the consumption of his heart.

When his nobody came to be, he embodied the same intelligence, and the same desire to achieve greatness, only this time he had the body that it could be done in. Though he was left with little choice but to assist the Essence Vanguard, he devoted his skills to it and quickly rose to a position of authority, now placed second in command in their group of five. He hasn't bothered to seek out the head role in the party, not wanting the excessive responsibilities that came with it, they got enough from him as it is. Instead he is perfectly content to stick with his current role.

His passions comes from his desire to be great. Whatever he does he has to put his full effort into, and make sure it is done according to his own expectations. This often leads to him doing things by himself, though not strictly prohibited, it is ill advised for him to deviate from the group, his commander knows it is a losing battle to try and conform him to every aspect of the party.

Though he rose through the ranks quickly enough, he is notorious for being independent and isolated apart from spending time with his brother, a welcome change from the way things were before he crossed over to the nobody side. He often keeps his true emotions inside, instead employing a variety of facades throughout his chain of command, contributing to his manipulative quality.

Something he has kept secret from everyone, including his brother, is the discovery that he has a remarkable aptitude for manipulating the lesser nobodies. This is mainly why he chooses to deviate to his own path while on assignment, to practice in secret this remarkable talent. Though he isn't silly enough to make them dance and play, should anyone happen to come across his antics, rather he wills them to make mistakes, a slip in their guard or a momentary pause, a misstep to give him the upper hand. This way it would be less likely to tell should someone be watching the entire duration.

"Every Light Must Fade.."

During the years of his life spent as Alexander he was trapped, confined to a limitation he would never be able to push back. From a young age he was diagnosed with a sickness that crippled his immune system, leading to him having to spend an astounding amount of time indoors, for should he have risks going outside, there was potential of contracting whatever illness might be in wait. This troubled him deeply, for his mind always felt like a trapped bird in a cage, eager to soar beyond its limitations. Throughout the years as his body got weaker and his mind got stronger, it only made him resent his friends and family. Why, of all of them should he be the one cursed with this inferior body, when whoever created him was responsible for such a gifted intellect.

He spent a lot of his time in solitude, and this only further fueled his malcontent. The only one who had bothered to come around as much as he would if he weren't sick was his brother. The two of them were some sort of inseparable. Alexander could only feel like it was out of pity that his brother spent so much time with him, but it was a welcome distraction from the dark thoughts clouding his mind. Together they would play game after game of chess, and talk of simpler times, and what they might do should Alexander ever get better.

As the days dragged on and Alex still showed no signs of getting better, it became difficult to remain optimistic. He stopped talking to his brother for short periods of time, simply refusing to speak whenever he was around until he got the message that he wanted to be left alone. It was during these times his heart grew more tainted then ever, and one night, in the deepest depths of darkness, his heart was devoured by the heartless.

"Every Heart Return To Darkness...

For a long while the world seemed to have ceased to exist. Everything around him was black, and he couldn't see anything at all. He was overwhelmed by the sensation that this was what it must feel like to die, and something within him lashed out, refusing to submit. Thus the humanoid nobody "Sebastian" came to be. From seemingly out of nowhere, he was brought back into existence and light, embodied with the same thoughts, but a different vessel. This was single the happiest moment of his entire existence, getting to see the day his mind would triumph and achieve a body capable of harboring greatness.

Though each humanoid nobody was forced to serve in the Essence Vanguard, or otherwise be deemed unsafe for public establishment and be disposed of. It was at this time he began the never ending charade that has driven him closer and closer to his goals. By treating his superiors with the utmost respect, and luring them into a false sense of security when it comes to his actions, he has secured a spot in the Essence Vanguard that allows him certain liberties. He is expected to give field reports of how their nights turn out, and should any number of the group be separated from the leader, he is acting commander until the group is brought back together.

This works well for Sebastian, and he often goes out of his own way to ensure he is separated from the main group most nights, in order to hone his ability in private. He fears even telling his brother about his ability, not knowing how any of the Vanguard would react should they find out. He is content to keep this secret until he feels he is in a more stable position for it to be revealed.

Where there is darkness, there is light and where there is light, there is darkness. You can't have one without the other. We must beat back the darkness to let the light shine through but this battle will never end, will it? Eve sighed to herself as she rolled onto her back on the simple twin bed the agency provided for all of their employees and stared at the ceiling. The florescent light above was dim but it never went completely out. Since the heartless always lurked in the corners, the lights always stayed on in the hopes that it would prevent the heartless from slipping in. Eve didn't think the light did anything to keep the heartless away. They were just lucky that everyone in the building had a strong light to hold onto in their own hearts or were already nobodies.

The rest of Eve's room wasn't much to look at either. Unlike most of the residents she didn't decorate the room. There was no point. She had hoped that these lodgings would be temporary and that soon they'd tip the scales in their favor and she'd go back to living in the city. Years had gone by and she was still holding onto that distant hope. So, her small room was simple with only a writing desk on the other side of the bed. That at least had some personal flair and everything was neatly organized into her filing cabinet and inbox slot. All of the holders and desk supplies were a mix of a peachy cream color or black which didn't really offer too much color to the room.

The only thing that seemed vibrant in the room was Eve's weapon. The rapier rested neatly against the counter beside her bed and gleamed in the darkness, the fire crystal at its center flickering and licked at its casing, eager to swallow the gloom. The sheath itself was silver and pearly white and complimented the engraved white wings on its hilt. The handle itself was a pale blue that faded into purple at the center and a string of sapphire pearls hung off the end. It worked well as a distraction when she was fighting off the nobodies. She reached over and caressed the beads lightly before her alarm clock started to scream at her. Oh. It was 5 pm already?

Eve shut off the alarm and set about getting ready for the day. She quickly rushed to the communal bath and when she returned to her room in just a towel, her phone was blaring. She hurried over to it and flipped it open to see she had received an email from the command center. It looked like her team needed to go out to District 4 to quell the rising heartless in the area. Well, so much for her plans to take her group to the training grounds. She had just been put in charge of the group and they had two new member as well. She needed to see what they were all capable of and how they worked together. If they couldn't work together, their team would be doomed and they could suffer casualties. She was especially worried about the nobody brothers. She had worked and heard more about them than the other two. Alase was a berserker and while normally he was quiet, he could be quite reactive and he'd have no qualms about fighting with the group. His brother Sebastian was much more level headed; something she appreciated. Though a nobody, Eve found she trusted him to a certain extent and he was focused on the goal. She'd worked with the two of them for 3 weeks, but now she had two more members on her team; Cain and Jamoke.

Shed heard about Jamoke. He was termed the 'Badger' in reference to his past. He had been one of those 'bad kids' but he seemed to do well in the field, save for the bad attitude. That worried her considering Alase's unstable emotional state. She was going to have to rely a lot on Sebastian's manipulations of his brother to keep him calm. And then there was Cain. He was new to the outfit so she really didn't know what to make of him. She hadn't seen the whole group together yet. She really hoped this first mission went well. She needed to get dressed and gather everyone outside and head off before it got too dark out. The heartless would be swarming by that point. It would be easier to get there early and start picking them off before the horde appeared.

Not too far away from Headquarters, a howling wind filled the evening air as the train propelled forward on the city's tracks, the ever present 'chuh-chunk' of the train droned below the howl, stressing eagerly to compete with the volume. All of this was peaceful for Sebastian, who lay flat on his back, clinging to the train with either hand as his arms lay outstretched across the train's large body. The views ranged from flashing lights overhead, looming skyscrapers with dim lights scattered throughout it's various windows, and the occasional pitch blackness of going through a tunnel.

He had been aboard the train for almost an hour, calmly meditating as his eyes absorbed the scenery. It was almost time. Inevitably, the alarm on his wristwatch sounded, a low chiming beep that signaled it was now 6pm. Somewhere in the distance, the bell tower chimed just as it did the top of every hour. As the chimes rang out, Sebastian silenced his wristwatch, the train beginning to squeal and rattle to a slow halt.

Heaving out a sigh, Sebastian focused his energy, summoning the strength necessary to conjure a portal, the rift opening in a wide cycle just below his back, radiating outwards until it encompassed him completely. Then, seemingly, he sank into the train car, disappearing from sight.

On the other end of the portal, which manifested several paces down the hall from Eve's quarters, swirling into existence on the wall. From within, Sebastian stepped outward as if he had been walking already, not breaking his stride. He wheeled to the left down the hallway, toward Eve's quarters. As he came to a halt outside her door, he drew his breath to a still. He lingered there for a few moments, then knocked quickly several times, hardly moving his hand from where it was drooped to his side. He had only made the mistake of walking into Eve's room once before without properly announcing himself. After a lengthy scolding he made a mental note to avoid barging in at all costs.

Eve had just finished dressing when she heard the door. She looked up and checked her watch. 6pm sharp. It had to be Sebastian at the door. The nobody appeared at 6pm at her door like clock work. She really liked how prompt the man was. It made her wonder about who he really was. She grabbed her weapon then and buckled it around her waist before opening the door. Surprise, surprise, it was Sebastian.

She gave him a nod. "Good evening, Sebastian. I just got our mission. I would like you to assemble everyone at the main entrance. We are going to be heading to District 4 to wipe out a swarm of heartless. Oh... and make sure you watch your brother. I trust him to go after the heartless, but I don't know how he is going to mesh with our new members," she warned.

For a moment, he stared vacantly into her eyes, resisting the urge to prod into her mind with his own, the only thing holding him back was fear of the unknown, not sure of what would happen should he attempt to meld with the mind of a human. Admittedly, Sebastian conceded that Eve was an attractive woman. Perhaps if they had met in his previous life he would've taken more of a physical interest in her, but now that he was a nobody he viewed her more as an authority figure than a person. She had a simplistic beauty about her, one of the lucky ones gifted with natural good looks, that didn't have to rely on the prim and proper to seem presentable.

"District 4? Is it serious? Alase and I could go ahead and meet you there after I summon the others." District 4 was notorious for giving them trouble, seemed to be an area the heartless enjoyed frequenting, feeding on the growing darkness that gorged the residents of District 4. To Sebastian, it made sense to go ahead, considering she was already cautioning him on his brother's behavior in battle. This way, they could get there ahead of the group, and Sebastian could corral Alase into his own killzone, and drive more heartless away from him to be handled when the others arrived. Yes, that would work nicely. "If you'd let me, I can see to it Alase is slightly distanced from the rest of the group, and in the time it takes the rest of you to get there, I can bottleneck the remaining heartless through the subway that leads to District 4's main plaza. That way I can traverse the middle ground in between Alase and the main group to assure he doesn't get carried away."

Preparing to leave whether or not she agreed with his plan, he calmly waited a response from Eve, his face once more taking on the blank, vacant stare.

"That is actually a great idea. Perfect. You tell Jamoke and Cain to meet me at the front doors and you go on ahead with Alase. We'll meet you there. Good hunting," she said then and watched as the nobody slipped away to go about his task. Eve sighed and pulled on her coat before closing the door and headed out to stand besides the doors to wait for the rest of her human partners.

"They shall arrive shortly. The same to you. Excuse me." Sebastian gave a slight incline of his head as a portal riled into existence behind him. Performing an about face, he stepped through the thick darkness of the rift, his body disappearing completely before the portal collapsed, leaving Eve alone in her quarters.

First, the portal directed him to in front of Cain's quarters. Beside the door, an intercom system was adorned on the wall to provide easy communication through the door. Jamming the button to signal his arrival, a loud buzz could be heard from within the room. When the sound cut off, it was replaced by Sebastian's voice, smooth and melodic. "You've been summoned by Eve to the front entrance, your arrival will be expected immediately." Without waiting for a reply, he strode down the hallway a bit further to where Jamoke's quarters were located. Again he pressed the buzzer, reciting his message to Jamoke. Now that they had both been told where to be, it was time to get Alase.

The two of them shared their quarters, a large room that had at one point been used for conferences and meetings had been re purposed to house the Nobody brothers. It was easier and safer for them to be in the same room, for if there ever came a time where Alase lost control, having Sebastian close by was always a plus.

The door slid open, revealing Sebastian in the doorway, gazing into the large room. Alase was on one end, preparing his gun for the night's proceedings, seemingly lost in the act. "Evening, brother. I hope you're ready, Eve tells me there is quite a disturbance in District 4. We are to go ahead of the rest of them and do what we can to maintain the problem before it spreads too far."

Making his way to his own corner of the room, he gathered his notebook and pen from his nightstand, flipping it open to where he had left off the morning before. Each day he kept a log of the mission proceedings, a tally of how many heartless and nobodies had been eradicated, and how many civilians had lost the struggle to maintain the darkness within. Brief summaries and body counts were scribbled throughout the pages, all dated and logged according to district.

He made a new entry for District 4, jotting down his strategy that he had discussed with Eve and leaving the remainder of the page blank. Clamping the book shut, he slid it into the back pocket of his pants. His weapons, the twin katanas, were shelved on the wall parallel to one another. Taking the first sheath from its place, he holstered it to his belt on his right side, and did the same with the other katana, but on his left. Once his weapons were in place, he thumbed at one of the crystals embedded in the hilt, the lightning magic sending a surge of static through his body, causing him to smirk a little.

He'd given Alase a chance to prepare, and now it was time to leave. "First stop, the subway station. That's where the people will be trying to find shelter if they didn't make it home before curfew. We'll start there, and once I get the people rounded up, you can go wherever your gift takes you, I won't be far behind, but I need to make sure Eve and the others don't get overwhelmed. It's their first night in the field, after all."

Once more the portal swirled to life, this time a bit larger to compensate the two of them entering at the same time. The edges seeped with dark tendrils licking at the the empty space in the room, the center of the portal itself looked like a churning pool of the midnight sky, cloudless and starless, only a disturbance in the surface as the energy required to keep the portal open shifted and manifested.

Cain took another sip of his coffee, when all of a sudden, the buzzer to his room sounded. A statement, no a message recited to him. He was to meet with his leader. A mission came up, and his presence was required immediately. Wait immediately, doesn't that mean right now?!

"Immediately?! A mission! One side everyone!" he proclaimed as he grabs his sword and pulls it onto his back as he began his dash out of his room and through the hallways. He couldn't believe it, it was finally time! Time to meet his team, and time to start his fight against the darkness. He wanted to pinch himself and hope to whatever deity was watching that it wasn't a dream.

When he got to the main entrance he almost tripped on the way out as the doors opened. He grabbed hold of one door to regain his balance. He walked out calmly hoping to not look like he was totally green. He didn't want to be mistaken for being totally green. He trained for this, he had to make a great first impression to the...the...lady? She was waiting outside like the message said, but he never expected her to be pretty!

"Holy smokes she's really pretty..." Cain thought to himself before mentally slapping himself. "Whoa! Don't think that.. She's probably not gonna give me the time of day..."

"Cain Azura reporting for duty Ma'am!" he said, trying to sound calm and not nervous. Okay maybe a little nervous.

Alase sighed to himself as he prepared for the night's endeavors. He had dressed a long time ago; he and his brother up before most everyone else. While his brother had left the room to do his sight seeing or whatever the hell he went off to do, Alase remained in their shared room. He knew that regardless of what their mission was, he needed to get his weapon ready. He found the process of cleaning his revolver rather soothing. He had a blue wrap spread out on his bed with the various pieces of his gun laid out as he cleaned the chambers and checked the mechanisms to ensure that it would not lock up on him when he needed it most. Though he didn't have to worry about nobodies and heartless stealing a heart he didn't have, those creatures could kill him and he did not want to die. Not yet anyway. There was still so much that needed to be done.

Alase was just putting the rounds into his gun when he felt his brother enter the room. He gave him a glance before he put away his cleaning supplies and tapped the electric core on his gun. He felt the tingle on his finger tips and a small grin touched his lips.

"Evening, brother. I hope you're ready, Eve tells me there is quite a disturbance in District 4. We are to go ahead of the rest of them and do what we can to maintain the problem before it spreads too far."

"I see." They were going on ahead of the rest of the team. He liked that idea. He knew they were getting two new members on the team today and Alase was not too thrilled about that development. He didn't mind Eve too much since she didn't try and engage him in conversation beyond what was necessary and she gave him space. These two newbies? He didn't know what they were like and he didn't want to find out. He didn't need more Somebodies treating him like trash or talk like they knew everything about him simply because he was a nobody. The Nobody put his gun in its holster as he stood and pulled on his cloak and made sure the dark hoodie was up. He then checked to make sure he had back up ammo. "I am ready."

Alase gave his brother a nod then and followed him through the swirling portal. If anything, that was always a bonus to becoming a Nobody. You could teleport places and most weapons beside the fortified ones were useless against you. Alase stepped out into the crisp air and turned his gaze up to the dark sky and watched the lights of the stars for a moment before he turned his amethyst gaze to the mostly empty streets. He saw humans rushing about in their hurry to get behind their cozy doors. That didn't really stop the heartless from taking hearts but it was a safety precaution. The less people wandering around at night, the less likely heartless could attack humans that didn't harbor darkness in their hearts. There were a few people in the station just as his brother predicted. It always baffled him how many humans were still out after curfew. They knew when curfew was. They should already be home. Alase gave a sigh of annoyance.

"You deal with them. I'll stand guard outside the doors," he answered then. He had originally been planning to go in the station with his brother but he was not in the mood to deal with the scrambling idiots. He felt the brimming darkness in the air. The heartless would be coming soon anyway. He retrieved his gun as he walked forward, expert eyes tracking where the heartless were likely going to be showing up.

After a few minutes of waiting, Alase caught sight of the first heartless forming in the darkness. Alase's lips formed the tiniest of smiles and his bored eyes lit up in glee. It was starting. He always did like this part more than he should. Alase quickly raised his gun and tapped the magic crystal to electrify the ground. These small fry heartless were no mach for the intense light and they immediately exploded, releasing their wayward hearts. Alase envied them that; they were called the heartless but they were the ones that kept the hearts from their original host. Alase tapped the gun against his head as he kept time. Then he saw the next cycle of heartless. Some were the weaker heartless but the stronger ones were starting to come out to play. A light chuckle escaped Alase as the berserker rage began to bubble up inside of him. He rushed forward, a crazed look in his eyes as he jumped right into the fray.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eve looked up from where her booted toe was nudging at the crack in the cement when she heard the doors open. She scanned the man and recognized him as the newbie on their team from the files she had been given. She stood up straighter and crossed her arms in front of her chest. His introduction make her lips twitched in a smile. He really was green. She could count on one hand how many people called her 'ma'am' or spoke so formally. Most of the other people in this business had little time for formality. It was sweet just as it was a mark of innocence. She hoped this job didn't harden him too much to the point that he would lose that.
"Good evening, Cain. I am Eve Ferrin, the captain of this squad. You can just call me Eve or Evee. There is no need to be overly formal."
Then the second team member made their appearance. Jamoke's introduction was far from formal and a bit odd. Lady fancy-free? What the hell was that supposed to mean? She didn't much like being called 'Lady' either. It made her feel far older than it should. "Good evening to you as well, Jamoke. I am captain of this squad," she repeated, "You can call me Eve or Evee. Beside you is our initiate Cain. Alase and Sebastian, the remaining duo of our team, have already gone ahead of us. We will be heading to District 4. Our intel says that there is a large amount of heartless activity there. Our first priority is to make sure that any person out after curfew is protected from the horde. I want zero casualties. Every person killed creates two more enemies; a heartless and a nobody." Besides the emotional turmoil of losing someone after all. They couldn't afford to lose any more people to the darkness. Hope was already a thin thread.
"A word of warning. If you didn't know before, Alase and Sebastian are both nobodies assigned to this team. Do not antagonize them. Especially Alase and do not get in his way during the fighting. He has not attacked anyone on the teams before but he is a berserker and therefore a lose canon in a fight. If you notice him going a-wall, get Sebastian to go after him, do not try and stop him yourself." This warning was mostly for Cain's benefit since she was sure he had far less experience with the intelligent nobodies. She didn't want him to do something that would end up with him getting hurt or killed. As a member of previous vanguards, Jamoke would have at least heard of the nobody brothers and know to stay clear. "Let's go," she said then and led the team towards District 4. As they neared the area, she could already hear the sounds of fighting and the eerie berserker laugh indicating that Alase was fully enveloped in his haze.
Before Cain could give his reply to Eve's request, a slightly taller individual with white hair showed up, and gave out a slightly less then formal introduction. Cain frowned a deep frown then. Initiate? Did he say that in a teasing way, or was he just trying to condescend everyone present including him? He slightly pouted as the thoughts went through his head.
"And what's wrong with being a new guy?" he muttered to himself. Eve then began to explain the mission. Apparently they needed to go to District 4 and take care of an increase in heartless activity. The other two members of their squad had already gone.
Cain nodded in understanding to the no casualties part. He opened his mouth to speak again before his leader gave a very, very stern warning. The two members were nobodies and did not need to be antagonized. Nor should he try to Anger one Alase. He could tell the way she was going into details she was dictating, it was all directed towards him. He had to get along, no exceptions! He nodded slowly as he stuttered out, "Understood Ma-Eve! I meant Eve!" His face dusted pink in embarrassment as he followed Eve and Jamoke to District 4.
When they got near the Area he heard the fighting, and the laughter. He couldn't tell if this is whatEve was talking about in terms of Alase in his berserk state. He slowly kept a one handed grip on his blade, staying alert and ready for any heartless to come his way. He just hoped his teammate in his berserk state didn't attack him! "Here we go! Let those heartless come!"
"Everyone onto the tracks. Quickly."
As the civilians out past curfew started shuffling their way onto the tracks, one by one down the small ladder that allowed access, Sebastian could feel the ever growing presence of the heartless. They had arrived, and they would be coming for these people. He was confident in Alase's lust to drive them back, but surely they would come from other ways, and slip through minor faults in his defense.
Helping the last couple of people down onto the tracks to speed things along, he herded the group down the long dark tunnel. The one they were on would take them to a stop just below the square in the center of the district, where the rest of the group should be arriving by the time he got the people there.
Sebastian's own vision in the darkness was fine, but he took into account the others, and sent a surge of electrical energy through the tunnel, sparking the various sconces to life, giving off a dim glow in the large pathway. Sighs of relief could be heard throughout the group as people were no longer prone to trip over their own feet stumbling around in the dark, and surely not all of them were comfortable with the fact that he was one of the nobodies corralled to work for the vanguard.
Before long, Sebastian was starting to think the group would arrive safely in the square without a hitch. He knew the subway would be a safer mode of travel given they weren't out in the open, but he hadn't expected to not see a single one.
As if on cue, a sharp presence suddenly made the hair on the back of Sebastian's neck stand, and he whirled around to see heartless, many of them, massing on the floor and walls, shifting eerily as they often did, twitching as their bulbous yellow eyes fixated on the prey. The scuffling of their feet in unison hardly made a sound on the stone flooring, nor did they make any noise as they oozed from the walls, confined to the the shadows that lingered in the recesses.
Slowly, to not alert anyone, Sebastian loosened one of the magic crystals from the hilt of one of his blades. He gripped it tightly in his fist, and a purple glow slightly illuminated the crevices between his fingers. When he opened his hand once more, the crystal was gone, having seemingly disappeared, but had been replaced with a piercing blue circle mark in the center of his palm.
Thrusting the palm with the mark forward, he winced as intense sparks of lightning flared forth from his hand. A loud crack resonated through the tunnel as the lightning struck the stone wall, obliterating a small patch where heartless had been gathered. The sparks ricocheted from the point of impact, seeking out other heartless and eradicating them as well, until each spark faded to a dwindle.
Some civilians screamed from the sudden outburst, others began to notice the heartless. Naturally, they began to run headlong down the tunnel, unaware of where they were going, only alert to the primal instinct to survive, to not be claimed by the heartless.
"Dammit..." This was not what Sebastian had in mind. With a flick of the wrist, another burst of lightning tore through a portion of the crowd of heartless. Still, there were too many for him to focus on if he was going to make sure the scrambling civilians made it to the proper destination. Focusing his power, two portals opened up on the walls behind the mass of heartless. Several Samurai nobodies marched out from either portal. Channeling his energy, he asserted his will over the nobodies, and after a moment of standing still, they each drew their weapons and charged into the heartless. Sebastian felt lightheaded suddenly as the energy required to control the nobodies took it's toll. It had been something he practiced briefly, but only on ones he had met naturally in the world, never before had he drawn them from another place.
Wheeling around, he broke into a run to catch up with the others, shouting ahead to try and get their attention. "Gate 7! Go to Gate 7!" Some of them must have heard, for they seemed to be running in less of an aimless attempt to flee, and more focused on a destination. His earpiece buzzed to life as he made to contact Eve and the others. His voice echoed over the communicators, "Eve, if you've arrived in the District, I am traveling with civilians through the subway, heading for Gate 7 in the main plaza. Plenty of heartless in tow, I need to make sure these people are out into safety before I focus on the heartless." A beeping noise signaled the end of his transmission, and he continued his pursuit of the civilians as they rallied for the gate.
"Damn it," Eve growled when she received Sebastian's message. She pulled her sword free of her scabbard and slashed at the heartless trying to get behind her. This is exactly what she hadn't wanted to happen. She had wanted Sebastian to remain close by in case Alase decided it would be fun to run off like a maniac killing heartless left and right and then getting himself killed or hell, turning on a human himself. Alase was not stable though he was great at killing hordes considering his rather strange fighting style but she did not want Sebastian too far away in case something happened. She had heard the stories of Alase venturing off on his own to corner a human about to turn into heartless themselves. He had to be restrained in those instances least he try and take out the human in his desire to keep the heartless and other nobodies at bay. He was good blood hound and she was thankful that he found people they could try and pull away from the darkness, but he wasn't a restrained one. And now she needed to offer Sebastian assistance with the heartless coming after the herd of people he was helping.
Now who did she want to send over to Sebastian? She didn't want to send her newbie into the tunnel alone and she didn't want to leave Jamoke up here with Alase either. Leaving the newbie up here alone with the nobody was also a no-go. He wasn't experienced enough and Alase wasn't going to be watching Cain's back. She wanted to see them interact before she left anyone alone up here with the berserker. She sighed and turned to Jamoke then.
"Jamoke, get down to the tunnel and go after the heartless that are trying to get at the humans Sebastian is leading away. They are sure to be in a panic and I want little to no human casualties. Do whatever you can to ensure the heartless stay back," she commanded. "Cain, you and I are going to stay up here to keep the heartless up here from getting into the station. Just get whatever heartless gets through Alase's defenses." She directed Cain to the front doors of the station. She tapped her communication device then.
"Sebastian, I am sending Jamoke to your location to help keep the heartless back. As soon as those people are in that other district, I want you both to get back here," she informed. She quickly grabbed one of her fire crystals and tossed it at a group of heartless trying to get at Alase. It burst into flames and the heartless quickly evaporated, releasing the hearts they had devoured. She tapped the same crystal in her sword and the blade immediately came to life with flames down the edges. With a war cry, she began to slice through the heartless that slipped by Alase and tried to head towards the tunnel. She lit up two trash cans at the entrance then to deter the heartless from coming closer because of the light.
At first glance Cain looked calm at Jamoke's remarks. Inside, he was fuming. "That a-hole! Sure the guy may be berserking but he can calm down... Right?" he thought as his mind drifted for a moment until Eve gave a sharp order. Stick with her and help keep the heartless away from retreating civilians. "Without delay!" he shouted as he began slicing several heartless using his sword.
He observed Eve do the same and lit flames on the trash cans to deter them. Wait, fire can do that? No wait! Cain had to pay attention! Cain barely blocked a heartless that came his way as another tried to pull a sneak attack on him by running around him. Cain pushed the one he blocked away before doing a mad spin attack, cutting the two in half before another heartless leapt and gave the young Azura a glancing wound on his side. Cain had to hold his mouth shut to not yell out in pain.
Grimacing Cain stabbed the offending heartless before leaping back towards the other two teammates present. "We better hope those two get here soon! Those buggers really want to flay us alive!" he shouted towards Eve as he cut down another heartless. How many was that so far? He couldn't tell, but he must look very foolish since he was the new guy. So he did what's best. Gave his two teammates a nervous wave before continuing to fight. Though, maybe he'd want to make sure his wound wasn't too serious after the fight. He didn't want to be a casualty so soon! That would really put a damper on first impressions!
