Jin Ishida & Riza Blackwell

Hana and Kai left the room to attend to Kai's business. Riza sat in the room silently for some time before finally getting up, Well, I am going to head out now, Jin if I was you I would challenge Alex and Lock first. Those two will be the hardest to deal with. Mr.Threshield, I am going to be inviting the guest to the main ranch tomorrow for a barbecue, I feel it will be the best place to announce that tournament if you go through with it. I am going to heading to Aria now, farewell you two. Jin nodded his head to Riza words as she walked out the door. She walked through the Mansion and out the doors. She could see Ruth flying overhead on her Tropius. As she continued to walk toward the docks she could see Ruth, Nanami, Neve, and Keiko together. Hello girls, Seems you all at are exploring the islands. Just a little advice Onna is currently off limits there are some problems with the weather there so Mr.Threshield doesn't want anyone there. I would also advise you to keep Aria for tomorrow. I am going to get that ogre, Lock to have a barbecue so we can try to restart our first meetings. So sad to say but I would advise you to check out only Taurn and Haven, but if you want to head over to Aria today that is up to you. Riza continued to walk to the dock waving to the group as she walked past the group. I hope to see you there tomorrow. Riza said to the group before getting to the dock. The old sailor still wasn't back from bringing the group to Aria but Riza was far too impatient to wait for him to wait for him to return. She threw a Net Ball into the sky and Red Gyarados popped out. What's up Kaiser, we are Aria bound today. Riza hopped onto the serpents back as it began to swim toward Aria. Kaiser kept his head and neck above the waves so Riza's dress didn't get wet. Lock is there Kaiser, it has been such a so long time since you had the opportunity to battle him. With you and Heracross being the only two that remained on my team since the last time we had a battle. Riza and Kaiser passed by the old man on his boat, who waved at them as the past by. Finally, Riza had reached Aria while it wasn't as fast as the boat she was finally on the island she called home.

Jin walked up to his room, on his desk sat many boxes ranging in sizes. Hmm, these gifts will only do for some of the guests that I have requests for. Mr. Everett, Mr. Rhodes, and Ms. Gem are all on Aria which means if I can get them to assist me I should be able to improve both my raw battle talent and inventive battle tactics. Jin looked at the Pokeballs on the on his bed. These were his six strongest and most dependable Pokemon but would they be able to stand on the same level as, champions and proteges of the elite four. He was one of the weakest of the shadow elite and only took up the offer to foster his own talent. With all these top level talents on the island, it was the perfect time to see where he sat compared to world's elites. Hana is a clear outlier, but if any of these guests were at her level it be Lock Everett, he was far more experienced than the rest of the guests, and he had gained the name of "Legend Hunter" in recent years. Jin decided he would first go challenged Lock to a one on one, then Alex, and finally, see if he could learn anything from Jewel. Although he had no gift for Ms.Gem, allow her to choose what the payment for assisting him would be, there is very little that she could ask for that he wouldn't be able to get. Jin grabbed the Pokeballs and gifts for Alex and Lock walked toward the back dock. It would take longer to get to Aria this way, but with his Blastoise Surge, he would enjoy taking his time. Throwing the ball into the air the Blastoise came out and off to Aria he was. Today I will focus on the guest on Aria, tomorrow those staying here on Have. I will need to get as much training done as possible in the next few days. Mr. Threshield will likely be setting up that tournament Mr. Kisaragi, and that would seed me near the bottom of the rankings in my current form. Sitting on Surge Jin began to meditate as we headed off to Aria.

Though she was distracted by the surroundings and couldn't fully listen to the entire conversation between Neve and Kei, Nanami managed to pick up on some of the conversation. In particular, Neve had mentioned picking her Pokemon for their personalities- Nanami guessed it goes to show that Pokemon didn't have their personalities set by their typing. Not like Ayato wasn't enough proof of that. Her ears were perked when she heard Neve ask an question.

"What sort of Pokémon do the two of you raise?"

Kei answered first by sending out her Pokemon- Nanami was legitimately surprised to find that it was a Venusaur. She expected that someone like her would have Pokemon relating to her career, like perhaps a Smeargle or an concealed Pokemon, like a Ghost-type like Mismagius. But then again, back during her travels in Kanto she had been told that Bulbasaurs were fairly easy to raise thanks to their long patience and tolerance. At least compared to the Pokemon she had been raising, Venusaur was an easier task than most. Besides, Kei mentioned that she had went for Pokemon that weren't too demanding to raise.

"As for me...well." Nanami laughed sheepishly. "I've mostly captured Pokemon that would help me along in my journey and travels, like Flying-types for getting around easier. I'm also guilty of catching Pokemon just because I couldn't beat them and wanted them on my team. If you can't beat them, join them, right?" She tugged her scarf up a little. "As for my current team though...I guess my current team is made up of the Pokemon that I've bonded with the most. I've bonded with a lot of them through my travels but the Pokemon that I have now are the ones that have helped me a lot throughout the entire journey. Of course, there are some that hadn't bonded with me that much yet..."

For an example, she tossed out an Ultra Ball and almost immediately, Carrots sprang out. The Metagross stared defiantly at its surroundings as she laughed a bit. "Take Carrots here for example- I have a feeling he doesn't like his name." Cracking a small joke, she returned the Metagross before it had the chance to bonk her with anything. Carrots seemed to be abusive of its own psychic power.

"I think the remaining areas are the battle centers our host told us about. Onna, Taurn and Pandora. Basically cold, dusty and industrialized respectively. Which one do you guys want to check out first? I'm kind of leaning on checking Taurn, the sandstorm island first myself."
"Taurn, huh?" Before she could answer, she heard another voice cut in, one that didn't belong to any of her companions.

Turning around she noticed the girl with the Lairon from earlier. So her name was Ruth...Still, they did need a guide at least. So that they don't get lost and all.
"We don't mind at all," Was her short reply until Riza came around again.

"Hello girls, Seems you all at are exploring the islands. Just a little advice Onna is currently off limits there are some problems with the weather there so Mr.Threshield doesn't want anyone there. When she left, Nanami shrugged a bit. "That--escalated quickly."

Lock sat at the table a small notebook in front of on the page read Alpha team and had six hyphens in a list, Arcanine was lying down next to him. He looked outside where Sophie was feeding the Pokemon. My six strongest Pokemon, the most elite team. Landorus, Terrakion, Greninja. Those three need to be on the team now which veterans do I add. Lock wrote the three names next to three of the hyphens. He leaned back in his chair he was sitting in as the door opened and Riza walked in. Lock looked at her as Arcanine ran to Riza and jumped on her knocking her down. Hey, ya old dog. Riza pushed Arcanine off of as she stood up and pet him. Riza saw the small notebook on the table, and the page Lock left it open on. So you still use these notebooks? No veterans yet either. I would say take Snorlax and Scarlet or Azure as well. For the final spot, it has to be Aura. Riza pet Arcanine. I know you like having Arcanine with you at all times, but he is getting old and I have seen your most recent battles with him, he has been struggling. I think it is about time you let him rest. You have always been a person who gets a rowdy group of Pokemon, let Arcanine stay at the Ranch and keep them under control. Lock looked at her he was noticeably angry. Don't talk about my Pokemon like that while you sit there and pet him. I will not force him into retirement, that is a choice for him to make. Riza slammed her hands on the table. That is the problem you two are exactly the same. He won't give up until he has to, and you won't force him to. You are going to regret it. I saw what happened against the Rayquaza. Riza and Lock stared at each other but before the argument could elevate anymore Sophie walked into the room.

Hello Ms. Blackwell, I heard you were going to be staying here with us. The house is much bigger than the one at the Ranch in Hoenn. It will be nice to have more people here. Sophie was oblivious to the argument that the two were just having, but her entering the room alleviated the pressure in the room. Riza smiled at Sophie, Well you are in luck I have invited the girls that are staying on Haven to come here for a Barbeque, Natalia is a fantastic cook. Jin will be making his rounds on the island, I'll send him to invite Mr. Rhodes and Ms. Gem. Sophie smiled at the idea. Lock got up and walked to where all the Pokemon were, notebook in hand. That Hana has really shaken him, I heard he took a massive defeat to a Rayquaza recently. He has always taken defeats harshly, hasn't he? Riza shook her head. It was true Lock was never one to accept unexpected wins, they always shook him, and on top of that Hana's attitude wasn't anything to take lightly. Why is Mr. Ishida stopping by? If you don't mind me asking Ms. Blackwell. Riza smiled at Sophie and laughed a bit. He is bringing Lock an offering so that Lock will battle him. Please call me Riza, Lock is like family to both of us so let's be a bit more friendly. Sophie smiled as she picked up the plates on the table. Alright Riza. What is the offering Lock is very specific about people giving him things? He will outright refuse anything he is planning search for himself. Riza smiled as a knock could be heard at the door. Riza walked to the door and quickly came back with Jin beside her. Hello Ms. Valentine. It is a pleasure. Jin bowed as he entered the room. A small case sat in his hand.

Neve fell into a comfortable silence, nodding along as Keiko responded to her earlier question. She gave the Venusaur a quick glance, smiling a little until the Pokémon was recalled and Nanami responded also. "I wouldn't say it is a bad thing to go with those easiest to raise. And raising Pokémon who can help you get around seems like a good idea also, I imagine it's nicer traveling with them than having to wait for other modes of transport." Nanami then let a Metagross out of it's ball and Neve blinked a few times, wasn't that line rare or something? Still, the Metagross wasn't out for long as the pink-haired girl quickly returned it.

Neve contemplated the question for a moment, honestly she would be fine with any of them but Nemesis would certainly appreciate the colder island more and Neve hadn't spent as much time as she would like with the Weavile lately. She was just about to raise her voice with her suggestion when a voice cut in.

"Umm, hello again, I'm... Well, I'm Ruth Ono, as you'll recall. HR's asked me to come help you guys take a look around, if none of you mind."

Neve turned a little and blinked a couple of times as she noticed Ruth, recognising her from earlier along with the Tropius. Nanami was quick to allow the other woman to join and Neve nodded in acceptance. Having someone around who knew the place would be nice and it would be better than having to rely on just the guide that Keiko had. Neve's gaze flickered in the silver-haired girl's direction for a moment, absently wondering if she was fine with the extra addition to the group.

And then Riza appeared only a few moments later. Blinking a few times at the lady's speech, Neve could only nod and hope that one of the others remembered what had been said because she wasn't sure that she could. Still Riza then carried on in the direction of what Neve thought was the docks.

Turning her attention back to the group, she was going to suggest going to Onna for the cold, but if that island was currently off limits then... "Well, I'm fine heading to Taurn for now." She glanced between them all before inclining her head in Ruth's direction. "Would you mind leading the way Miss Ono?"

Alex watched as the others made their way to their respective guides, and he quickly did the same. Alex made his way to a gruff, older looking gentleman. Once Alex got closer the man gave a professional nod to the boy and began to speak. "Hello there Mister Rhodes. My name is Sebastian and I will be your guide to the ranch. Now if you would please follow me I'll lead to the ranch you'll be staying at."

It didn't take long to reach his new place of residence and rather fortunately Sebastian didn't seem like much of a talker as the walk there was mostly quiet. Fine by Alex of course he was sure that Thomas was a much more stimulating conversationalist.

They spoke of random topics but fairly soon Sebastian had led them to their temporary residence. It was clearly an older building in design and to Alex's surprise seemed quite small, only slightly larger than his mothers humble ranch it seemed. "Here you are sir. It's one Of the older buildings on Aria but it should suit your needs quiet well. Do you have any other need of me sir?"

Alex shook his head in the negative, quickly waving Sebastian off, something which the old butler was more than happy to oblige, silently taking his leave.

Alex gave a quick once over of the building. It was old certainly and possibly not very well maintained, being quite decrepit in a few areas. He gave a brief sigh but said nothing more. It was not bad enough in shape to horribly inconvenience Alex and yet it seemed in bad enough shape to appeal to a wide range of ghost types. His Pokémon at least would be happy enough here.

Alex looked at Thomas with a smirk. "Well I guess it's time to get the rest of the gang here huh?" he immediately walked outside the ranch, giving enough space for his friends to stretch their legs. Soon enough his poke balls threw through the air releasing his team. He watched with a measure of concern as Ghast went off on her own no doubt to cause some kind of trouble. The others however were content to explore the surrounding area.

"You guys have fun I'm going to get the others. And Lancer please keep an eye on things. Don't let Ghast get into to much trouble." With that he went into the ranch and quickly transferred the rest of his Pokémon from the ranch to his person. Once they were released the others all began to explore the surroundings. All save for Letty who made a point to jump into Alex's arms sending him plummeting to the ground with her weight. "it's good to see you too Letty" He spoke with a smile and a slight chuckle.

Keiko heard Nanami spoke up in response to Neve's question. Apparently, she mostly chooses Pokemon based on mobility when it comes to accessing certain areas. She also admits to catching Pokemon she had difficulties in battles. Like herself, Nanami demonstrated by sending out a Metagross to show them.

"Take Carrots here for example- I have a feeling he doesn't like his name."

"I'm actually surprised you two can scrounge up the effort to christen your Pokemon with their own names, Miss Bennett, Miss Sadamatsu." Kei answers back with a slight smile. Just as she contemplated on where to go with the others next, a familiar figure approached them. It was the tall lady with the Lairon earlier, introducing herself as Ruth Ono. Apparently, she was sent to tour them around the islands. From the corner of her eye, Kei saw Neve glance at her as if to seek her approval.

"Perfect timing, Miss Ono. Thank you." Kei agreed to the arrangement. Besides, it'll be much easier walking around with someone who knows the way. "I do have some questions I want to ask myself."

"Miss Ono, we would like to head over to--" Just before she was about to speak up again, the Trainer from earlier, Miss Riza Blackwell swooped in towards their little entourage. She didn't say much save for notifying them that Onna is currently off-limits and that they were invited to a barbecue over at Aria tomorrow. Before Kei could ask anything more, Riza Blackwell already turned and left.

"I see. So Taurn it is then. Can you show us around Miss Ono? If it isn't too much trouble of course." Kei turns to ask their new guide.

The inside of the house did not disappoint. Wood panelling and art nouveau decor preserved that old world aesthetic, while the airy spaces and wide, near floor length windows opened and enlarged the space considerably. Felicity nodded to herself, and placed her luggage by the door. She clapped her hands.

"So, Jacob, before I unpa--" Her sentence was cut off as one of the pokeballs in the net pocket on her bag lit up. With no prompting, Topaz burst out, chirruping excitedly. Pearl gave the best despairing sigh an aurorus could give. Felicity slowly brought a hand to her face and pinched the bridge of her nose. Jacob stared wide eyed at the altaria. Topaz was near famous in his own right, as were all of Jewel's best devastators. He shook his hand and flailed his hands as his senses returned to him.
"O-oh, don't worry, Miss Gem, happens to the best of us umm..." He sputtered, as Topaz came to settle on the back of an armchair next to him. Felicity held up a hand, prompting the boy to shut up.
"That's Topaz, he does that sometimes." Topaz, for his part, leaned over to get a closer look at the strange boy and cooed. Then he whipped his head out and pulled on Jacob's pink camera, at which Jacob squawked a little. Felicity drew herself up to her full height and detached her altaria from playing with the camera. She handed it back to Jacob.
"As I was about to say," She turned to briefly glare at her yellow devastator. "Before I unpack, how about we have a quick shoot on the jetty? Just for my social media presence, to show off this outfit, and this gorgeous house." And to gauge whether or not this kid had the eye Jewel would need, or if he might be up to the standards where she could send his shots to her tabloid contacts. If all went well, this would be a mutually beneficial arrangement. Jewel Gem got the free use of a photographer for a week, who would owe her a favour later on, and the kid's career could get kicked off with a bang by shooting for Jewel Gem. Once again, her thoughts turned to King Threshield's possible plans, and whether he had the same insight. A worthy opponent or ally, if so. Just before she reached the door to head out, she turned and pointed at Topaz.
"You've got run of the house while I'm out. Try not to break anything." She said. Topaz chirped cheerfully and fluttered off further into the house to explore.



Ruth jumped a little when Miss Blackwell turned up unexpectedly on her heels. A barbecue? Ruth wondered whether the workers would be called on to help or not. Probably, she kind of doubted whether many of these folks knew how to actually cook. They kind of seemed like either they had People to do that for them, or like they only knew how to cook on a camping stove in the wilds. But hey, what did Ruth know. From what she'd seen, the three she had been assigned to watch seemed fairly down to earth. It was quickly agreed: they would head to Taurn. Ruth nodded in ascent, and turned back to Clover. She was just about to remount the tropius when a thought occurred to her.

"Oh, umm, do any of you have flying pokemon you can use? Or does anyone want to ride with me and Clover?" Ruth indicated the tropius with a gesture.

Jin walked out to the back where Lock was sitting in a lawn chair. Arcanine was laying next to him resting the rest of the Pokemon were spending time with each other. Mr. Everett, this is for you. Jin held the small box out toward Lock. Lock turned to see the box. I want to have a small 1 on 1 battle, my Marowak Night against any of your Pokemon. This is a gift to help convince you. You are better than me that is a fact, but I want to be better so I hope you accept my proposal. Lock took the box and opened it, to see the Lucarioite inside. Lucarioite, I never cared for searching for this, but if you want a battle, Lock closed the box and place it on the table. He stood and looked at the Pokemon in the ranch's fields, Greninja will be your opponent.

Sophia and Riza watched inside as the two set up for battle, this would be Sophie's first time seeing Lock's Greninja battling. It was quite a surprise to Sophie when Lock told her about the strong Pokemon he caught in Kalos, that he didn't want to send back to the ranch. It had to be strong to be used on a team with Lock's most trusted Pokemon. Lock's Greninja is going to destroy Night. As Riza says that Sophia and Sophia see the Marowak toss his bone on fire which is quickly intercepted and stopped by a Water Shuriken. A second Water Shuriken is thrown and hits Night, Riza and Sophie sat watching this match. Both Night and Jin were outmatched as they see Night use Flare Blitz, which is easily dodged and Greninja replies with a Dark Pulse that lands dead on. Night gets up staggering, Greninja held his hand in the air charging a Hydro Cannon. Jin and night go for a last minute effort, Flare Blitz. Night takes the full brunt of the Hydro Cannon. Jin bowed to Lock while returning Night to the Pokeball. The two began to walk into the house. See I told you Sophie, complete destruction. Jin and Night knew this was likely the outcome. Those two love getting their asses kicked be stronger enemies it is what motivates them. Lock and Jin walked into the house. Lock held his hand out to Jin, which Jin quickly replied to. Thank You for this opportunity, I will be heading to Mr. Rhodes place to challenge him as well. Jin said as he quickly left the room. Poor Kid, you didn't even give him a chance. Well at the very least you have good sportsmanship. Riza said as she sat there. I am going to take a nap. Lock said as he walked up the stairs. What a battle. To think that Lock would find such a strong Pokemon in Kalos. Sophie said earnestly as always. Well, Ms. Riza I am going to take a walk around the island. If I happen to see be Ms. Gem or Mr. Rhodes I will let them know about the barbeque tomorrow. Sophie said with a smile as she walked out the door.

It was soon agreed that the small group would head to Taurn for now, with Keiko quickly asking Ruth to show them around. Neve tilted her head to the side, idly wondering what how the island would be compared to the one they were currently on before putting the thought from her mind for now. There would be plenty of time to think on such things when she decided to write to her brother or add another entry to her journal.

It was only when Ruth asked if they had any flying types on them that Neve pulled herself fully from her thoughts. She simply nodded in response, hand moving to linger over one of the Poké Balls at her waist before deftly taking hold of one of them and releasing the Pokémon within. The Honchkrow that was revealed blinked a couple of times before stretching and taking it upon himself to greet the strangers around him.

The Pokémon held itself somewhat proudly, though it's energetic movements betrayed his true nature and once he had greeted everyone with a slight nudge of his head he swiftly returned to Neve, nuzzling into her side as she crouched down to run her fingers through his feathers.

"This is Morpheus, he's a little lively as you just saw, but he's reliable. He has certainly gotten me out of a fair few situations before."

It was then that Neve noticed that Nanami seemed to be a little quiet. She glanced in the pink-haired girl's direction for a moment, expression staying neutral despite her slight concern. She supposed that with everything happening so suddenly it might be a little overwhelming and she hoped that Nanami was dealing with it well. Still, unless the other voiced any concerns Neve would leave the matter be for now.

"I'll be able to fly with Morpheus, but thank you for the offer Miss Ono." And with that she smiled, waiting to see if Keiko and Nanami had flying types with them as well.

"I see. So Taurn it is then. Can you show us around Miss Ono? If it isn't too much trouble of course."
Taurn would be the next destination then. Keiko, probably the most rational- or at least, a lot more rational than Nanami- was quick to ask their newfound companion to show them around. Nanami had only gone to a few deserts in her time of traveling; she wondered if it would be the same as Unova's Desert Resort.

Still, Ruth brought up a question- did they have Flying-types with them? The first to respond was Neve, who sent out her Honchkrow. The energetic movements and the nudges of its head gave away that the intimidating Big Boss Pokemon was not as dark and mysterious as Nanami had initially thought. "And here I was, thinking that all Honchkrows were shady and intimidating." She laughed, to herself mostly but still at normal speaking volume.

She reached to her own belt and took a Pokeball off. Tossing it up into the air, a small flash of white light blinded her for a moment before the Pokeball fell back into her hand and a massive yellow form stood in front of her. It looked around, confused before its Trainer stepped up to it and patted it on its claw. "As for me, I've got Sorata here. He has tiny wings but he'll be enough to fly me there." Upon noticing the other Pokemon, the Dragonite tipped its head downwards in a polite bow. Nanami chuckled.

Turning to the last person, she tilted her head a bit. "What about you, Ms. Haruna? Do you have a Flying-type too?" As if following his Trainer, the Dragonite tilted its head as well though looked to its Trainer as if asking if he was doing it right.

Ruth, their guide, informed them that they'll have to fly in order to get to Taurn, motioning to her Tropius. She offered anyone who doesn't have a Flying-type a ride, which was rather nice though Kei found the notion rather embarrassing. Besides, Ruth's Tropius may not take too kindly to her.

"This is Morpheus, he's a little lively as you just saw, but he's reliable. He has certainly gotten me out of a fair few situations before."

Neve sent out her Honchkrow, acknowledging that she has someone to count on to fly her all the way there. The Honchkrow seemed energetic as it immediately approached the other Trainers as a form of greeting. Kei responded by lightly stroking his beak as it approached her.

At this point, the others probably wondered if Kei and Nanami had Flying-types with them too which the pink-haired Champion, who had been keeping quiet all the while, was quick to send out her own transport.

"As for me, I've got Sorata here. He has tiny wings but he'll be enough to fly me there."

It was a Dragonite. "Dragonite? Heh, I don't see too many of those back home." Kei remarked upon seeing the yellow dragon in front. Just as Nanami implied, hers seemed to be a little on the amiable side.

"What about you, Ms. Haruna? Do you have a Flying-type too?"

"Not exactly but--" Having been asked, Kei reached for the only odd one in her team and sent her out. Aki the Hydreigon materialized shortly, shaking off the sleep from her eyes as she gazed at the other Pokemon around her. "This is Aki. She's not exactly mine--just loaned to me so she can take a vacation as well. But we seem to get along fine."

Noticing it now, Kei found the odd assortment of Pokemon out rather strange, considering that they're all native from different regions. She turned to face Ruth before she boarded her Dragon. "It seems we're all ready here Miss Ono. Please lead the way."

Shortly after Neve had introduced Morpheus to the others, Nanami released a Dragonite named Sorata who seemed to be polite while Keiko had a Hydreigon named Aki who apparently was loaned to her. Seeing a familiar Pokémon was nice, though Neve wondered how much Aki differed from Ares, given that her own Hydreigon was rather cuddly once you got past his somewhat overbearing demeanor.

They left for the island after the introductions were made, Neve was used to flying with Morpheus by now, although heading toward a desert was something different for the two of them. She listened as Ruth described how Taurn's sandstorm was maintained by Tyranitar while looking in the direction of what she assumed to be the island.

Neve could make out a jagged rock face through the sand, though it wasn't until Ruth pointed out the ranger that Neve spotted the figure climbing to where the Tyranitar colony was. She observed them for a minute before Ruth's question drew her attention again. "So, do you want to go down and get a closer look?"

Neve gave a smile and a nod at this before verbalising her response. "I'm not opposed to meeting the Tyranitar if possible." She had, after all, considered adding one to her team at one point. It was still something she might do in the future of course, but they would have to be able to put up with her current Pokémon which was by no means an easy task.

'Still, this sand will be a nightmare to get off later.'

Once his Pokémon were out and about Alex began to unpack his belongings. With a bit of psychic assistance from Thomas it didn't take very long for them to finish. Once they were finished he quickly grabbed a decently sized journal adorned with his symbol, a simple black skull, the same one adorning his trademark red jacket. He looked at his partner with a smile and gestured towards the door. "The others are all outside let's head out there for a bit. We've got some planning to do after all." He spoke silently ands Thomas responded with a brisk nod.

As he sat out in front of the ranch house he watched his Pokémon for a moment. Most of them had gone off to do their own thing some such as Ghast and Geist had disappeared from view completely. He watched them with a smile as he turned to his journal. His war journal he called it. Filled with detailed battle strategies and attack combos. He flipped past a few pages with detailed instructions and strategies on how to defeat the most powerful trainers Alex had come across and unceremoniously defeated. Past the pages dedicated to the Kanto Elite Four he began to write. The trainers here where strong but it didn't matter he would plan and plan until he had the perfect strategy to cross all obstacles. He didn't know everything about many of the others but it never hurt to start planning as early as possible.

As he wrote down possible strategy after possible strategy he noticed Jin approach the ranch or rather Thomas delivered to his trainer a psychic warning. He suddenly looked up at the Shadow Elite in a knowing manner, the usual calmness plastered upon his face. He closed his book with a snap as he looked at the man and spoke."You're one of the Shadow Elite, your names..." He paused for a moment trying to remember the mans name until like a flash his name suddenly appeared in his mind.Jin right? Haven't I seen you before?"

The man nodded and spoke with a smirk"Actually yes. While you were in Unova. We battled back then, i ended up winning actually. It was tough though I wasn't surprised in the least when you became Champion."

Thomas looked back at Alex concerned than cast his gaze to the Chandelure Giest. That battle Thomas remembered well the aftermath was even more memorable. To the Pokémons surprise Alex did not respond with resentment towards the loss but rather some form of humbleness. Alex merely purses his lips and gave a brisk nod. "I see. So why are you here?"[color=red]

[color=blue]"I came here to challenge you to a battle. One Pokémon each. I also brought you a gift in return for the chance to face you again.You have also been invited to a barbecue tomorrow here on Haven at Lock's ranch."[The man held out a few books toward Alex which the boy eyed suspiciously. They appeared to be first editions, his eyes went wide when he saw the author. Shauntal. It was a little known fact that before becoming Champion he was quite an avid fan of the Elite Four member for both her novels and her skills with ghost type Pokémon. Either this gift was a lucky guess or someone has been keeping an eye on him. Alex took the books with and gave the man an appreciative nod.[color=red]"Very well but I'll warn you. I don't lose to the same opponent twice."

Wasting no time Jin quickly called out his Pokémon, a large, powerful looking Blastoise. "Surge I choose you" Alex looked at the large Pokémon contemplating which of his Pokémon would be the best choice. After a few moments of contemplation he finally decided, he raised his hand in the air and with a snap of his finger Ghast appeared almost out of no where in front of Alex. "Ghast this is Jin and Surge. Let's show them why they call us The Terror."

In a sudden moment Alex held out his Mega Ring hand, Ghast held a long and crooked grin on her face for she knew what was coming. In a flash Ghast's small form was replaced with the fear inducing mega form. Not wanting Jin to do the same they quickly jumped into action. It started with a pair of energy balls barreling towards Surge the first connecting the second disrupted with an aura sphere. Before Ghast could make a move Surge released a powerful dark pulse sending the ghost barreling backwards, giving Surge more than enough time to mega evolve. There was a water pulse and then a hydro pump, the first of which Ghast dodged, the second however sent her flying backwards. She struggled to get up slightly after the impact. Wasting no time Ghast hit her opponent with hypnosis, followed by dream eater. With her strength restored the battle was unceremoniously finished with a direct hit with an energy ball.

With the battle finished Ghast returned to Alex with a smile which he returned."I told you I don't lose to the same person twice." He turned his back to the man and began to walk away before stopping and addressed him once more. "Thank you for the gift. And for the battle. I most enjoyed them both."

Jin responded with a nod and spoke in a relatively pleasant tone."You are very welcome Mr. Rhodes. I'll be off now, to find Ms. Joule. It was an enjoyable battl ethank you fo rthe experience."

Nanami was rather surprised at the appearance of a Hydreigon- even her Dragonite was surprised to see a fellow Dragon-type. Apparently the Hydreigon was only loaned to Keiko; "I wonder if the original trainer had problems with dealing with it? It is the Brutal Pokemon after all. Though this one--" Judging by how the Hydreigon didn't look aggressive- and seemed to be just waking up from sleep-, Nanami guessed that maybe this one wasn't that destructive.

"We probably can't fly all the way over the island, it's got a sandstorm on it. We'll either have to land on the edge and walk further, or not land at all and fly over it."
The Dual Champion climbed up, onto Sorata's back. Ruth mentioned something about hoods- Nanami instinctively felt around her coat if it had one.
It didn't. Well this was just magnificent.
Seemingly sensing her thoughts, Sorata looked to her worriedly and let out a small hum. She reached out and patted his head. "Don't worry, boy, I'll be fine! I've went to deserts before in Hoenn."

While flying, Ruth explained the reason behind the different climates of each island; Pokemon gave the islands their respective climates. The moment Ruth mentioned the Tyranitar colony though, a thought crossed her mind. "An entire colony? I had to look for hours just to find a Larvitar in Johto!" This Threshield guy was richer than she thought.

As Ruth pointed out the Tyranitar colony, and apparently Threshield's ranger was climbing it. "Do you see it, boy?" Sorata gave a small nod in response to her question. Ruth also offered to get a closer look at the Tyranitars, which was something that excited the Dual Champion. Neve was quick to voice her agreement to the idea as well.

"Sure, that sounds like fun!" Tyranitars were scary, yeah- Nanami had seen a police officer in Kalos walking around with a Tyranitar as a partner, and it wasn't the most friendly sight she could have seen in her life- but getting a closer look at a Tyranitar colony? She was up for that any time.

Sophie was walking around the Island taking in all the sights, it was calm here and reminded her of home. Lock had already started things off on a bad foot with the rest of the guest, also he was the only one who brought a guest so It probably makes them look even worse. The people she had met so far were nice, though, aside from Hana Anenokoji. She was going to use this time to relax though and enjoy her time off. Lock's Pokemon are some of the most unruly Pokemon she had ever met, but each of them loves or respects Lock to death. They shouldn't be too much of a problem for him like they are for her. Sophie continued to walk with Sky and Stardust beside her, she soon saw a nice looking lakeside house. This most be where Ms. Gem is staying. Why don't we go stop by? Stardust leaped with agreement, while Sky kept her Stoic demeanor. Sophie always looked up to Jewel a bit, at least while she still competed in contests, her talent is easily at the same level of most of the other invitees, even if they differ in paths. Sophie was average at both being a coordinator and as a breeder, but taking care of Pokemon is her passion and I long she is able to complete her task she can always work to do something better. Sophie still hadn't moved any closer to the house, but she wasn't going to let her admiration for someone stall her. If she can handle Lock and his Pokemon there is very little that can shake her. Sophie began to walk up to the house, Hopefully we aren't too much of a bother. Sophie knocked on the door.

As Jin left Alex's ranch it sunk in the both of his matches were losses. He had a closer match against Alex but was that because Alex was a weaker opponent or because their Pokemon was more evenly matched. He would have to exam the matches when he gets back to his room. Now he would have to stop to see Ms. Gem, a top Coordinator, someone who would now how to use moves in a much more interesting way, something that may give him a lead in a match against some of his opponents. He would have to promise her something if the information he had on her was correct it could be of use with making a deal. If the information on her was correct he may be able to use her sister as a part of the deal, or possibly promise her the information would be locked away. After all, only the SE and Threshield himself had access to it. As Jin began to walk up to the door he saw Sophie waiting at the door, she most had taken a walk around the island if she was to end up here at the same time. Hello Ms. Valentine, taking in the sights? Jin asked at he approached the door. Sophie smiled at him and nodded, Yes, and Sophie is fine. No need for all the formalities, especially when you are older than me, Sophie is fine. Why did you come here? Jin smiled, Well, after losing to both Mr. Everett and Mr. Rhodes, I thought it would be a good idea to learn a bit from Ms. Gem about the interesting ways coordinator use the Pokemon, contest are a bit of a foreign element to me. Interesting hearing you say that though Ms. Valentine, as you speak the same way as I do. Sophie laughed a bit, he had a point after all.
Well, someone has to represent Lock's Brand well. It is a bit of a habit I have picked up since I have been working for him. As they continued their small talk, the Door opened with Jewel on the other side. Sophie smiled and waved as Jin simply bowed.

"We probably can't fly all the way over the island, it's got a sandstorm on it. We'll either have to land on the edge and walk further, or not land at all and fly over it."

En route to Taurn, Kei heard Ruth's warning about the sandstorm in Taurn. As expected, it was rather hazardous for some of the Pokemon. Still, Kei didn't mind. The bit about the sandstorm actually reminded her of her younger days. Just after their preliminary exams, they were informed about spending some time in a resort. What they didn't expect was that it was the "Desert Resort".

"I suppose seeing the Relic Castle more than made up for it..." Kei fondly recalls the memory. Her loaned Pokemon didn't seem to mind as well. Likewise, everyone didn't seem to be opposed to the idea.

Kei listened to Ruth talk about how the weather in the islands are simulated. Apparently, they were all done using the innate abilities of the Pokemon. "Of course. I should've expected it." Still, it bothered her a little. Could this count as grounds for exploitation? Ruth told them it was a colony but, the situation may not be amiable to the Pokemon.

So naturally, when Ruth offered to let them have a closer look at the Tyranitar colony, Kei didn't think twice about accepting. "Sure, I don't mind. I want to get a closer look myself." She replied. Changing out of her usual clothes seemed to be the right choice back then. At least she wouldn't worry about the sand getting to her work clothes.

"Hollow better not chew us out on this..." Descending in order to get a closer look, Kei analyzed the whole layout of Taurn. Somehow, it didn't seem like any of the Pokemon were being forced to work as the colony was thriving. She could make out a man somewhere though, which struck her as odd. Before she could ask, Ruth explained that it was King Threshield's ranger.

"Guess I got worked up over nothing." Kei shrugged. Rangers usually fall under a different jurisdiction, at least back at Unova.

"Shame we can't visit Onna for the moment." Kei addresses Ruth. "I suppose our next stop would be the event Ms. Blackwell invited us to?"

Ruth nodded as the trainers all acquiesced to landing and examining the tyranitar colony. Clover turned to peer at her over her own shoulder, and Ruth nodded. The tropius slowly looped downwards, until she came to land on the dusty ground of Taurn. Even with the unusually light sandstorm on the island, Ruth had to shield her eyes against the gritty winds as she swung herself down to the ground. Clover helpfully moved to act as a shelter, stretching one wing over her human.
"Thanks, Clover." Ruth said, as she swiped some of the sand out of her eyes. Once the others landed, she began to lead the way to the tyranitar colony, Clover close by her side. She pointed out the entrances on the sides of the rocky spires as they approached.
"We can use one of the lower caves to get in." Why Derek hadn't, for that matter, Ruth couldn't say. As they came closer to the entrance, a large shape loomed in the shadowed archway. Ruth may have been easily six feet, but a tyranitar was big enough to dwarf even her. She pulled further ahead of the group and approached the large bouncer-like presence.

Ruth let out a whoof of air as she was enveloped in a fierce hug, courtesy of the tyranitar.
"Yes. Hi. Nice to see you too." She croaked. She wriggled her way to freedom. She put her hands on her knees, caught her breath, and turned back to the girls behind her. She straightened out her clothes awkwardly.
"They know us here." She assured them. The Tyranitar headed back into the rocky caves that were the colony's home. Ruth led the way inside behind him. She smiled as she saw the groups of tyranitar milling around

It was mostly dark, given that there was no unnatural lighting inside the rock spire. Light filtered in through the openings in the sides, where members of the colony could get in and out whenever they felt the urge. However, the large hole up too high for a tyranitar to climb to let in more light than usual, spilling over some rubble on the floor. The large hole that hadn't been there last time Ruth had visited. Well that explained the ease in the sandstorm. Derek and Oracle had evidently had to climb a little further once they'd entered, as they clung to the rocky wall to get a good look at the unexpected skylight. The ranger pair peered round at the hole they were perched beside. Oracle looked down, and called a greeting to the familiar human below. Ruth waved briefly.
"That's Derek and Oracle, they're probably here to check what made that hole." Ruth explained. Her voice suddenly alerted Derek to the group's presence, and he had to catch himself from stumbling on his perch.
"You might not wanna be in here too long," He shouted down to them. "Dunno what caused this yet, so I can't tell you how stable it is for sure."
"Alright," Ruth called back, and turned back to the group. "Well, thirty second speech I guess, some or the tyranitar are rescues his majes-- Mr Threshield took into the reserve after they were taken out of bad situations. Sometimes the authorities don't really have anywhere else to send them, yknow? Pretty rare, but it happens. Buuut thankfully most at this point were born here." Speak of the little devils, a group of larvitar pelted past, apparently playing some raucous game.

Felicity smiled up from her seat on the edge of the small, and threw up a piece sign, until the click of her camera phone in Jacob's hands went off a few times. This continued for a few minutes, Jewel posing for the pictures, and subtly prompting the boy to find the more effective camera angles and effects for himself. Once they were done, she retrieved her phone and scrolled through the newest pictures. Oh yes, this kid would do nicely. She uploaded them, and began to compose texts to her various contacts, making sure they'd know where her photos during this vacation would be coming from. Oh, just wait, kiddo, you get a little older and you're going to have more photography work than you'll know what to do with.

However, unbeknownst to her, Jin and Sophie had approached the lakeside house. And, given that she was not there to answer, it was Topaz who opened the door when they knocked. Despite Pearl's best efforts. The altaria banged against the door in an attempt to dodge the aurorus, but managed to catch the doorhandle on the way down, before landing in a tangled heap. Topaz squealed happily when he saw people and pokemon standing on the doorstep. He fluttered upright and swooped up to circle around them excitedly. Pearl tried to regain her dignity, pulling herself onto her feet and lifting her chin. She looked up at the energetic altaria and made stern, scolding noises at him.

The sight of the bright yellow devastator spiralling around Sophie and Jin was what greeted Felicity as she returned from the shoot.
"Topaz!" She called sharply. The altaria cooed reluctantly, and settled himself on the mailbox by the door. Felicity stretched out one arm with a stern look, but didn't reach for Topaz' pokeball, as a compromise. Topaz brightened, flew over and settled on Felicity's arm as she approached. As he did, Felicity heard Jacob's camera click behind her, and she smiled. A nice dynamic shot, for sure. She approached Jin and Sophie with a smile.
"Good evening! What brings you two here?" She asked, in a deliberately light, airy voice.

Everyone seemed to agree to landing on the island and getting closer to the Tyranitar colony, so Neve and Morpheus followed behind the group as they all landed. As expected she was already getting sand in places she would rather not have it, it wasn't a delightful thing to taste. Morpheus seemed to equally dislike the controlled sandstorm and so Neve was quick to return the Honchkrow to his Poké Ball.

Of course, Ruth had moved on during this and Neve caught up in time to see the tall lady be hugged by one of the Tyranitar. She barely hid a smile at that, disguising a laugh with a cough as well. 'They seem to be rather lively.' Once Ruth freed herself, she lead the group into the caves.

The caves were rather dark, but Neve had grown used to being in such environments while training with her Pokémon and so it didn't take too long for her eyes to adjust to seeing in the low light.

A short walk through the caves and they came across the ranger, Derek and his Absol. The ranger mentioned that the group might not want to stay there long, followed up by Ruth explaining how the Tyranitar colony formed.

A group of young Larvitar ran past the group, clearly playing some kind of game. Smiling softly, Neve crouched down to watch them, idly imagining Nyx trying to join in with the fun. The thought of her friend made Neve’s smile falter a little. It was a rare time where the two were separated and she wondered if the Zorua was still sleeping or if she had gotten in to some sort of mischief.

She wasn’t certain how long they had been in the caves now, but she wanted to get back to Nyx for now. She was sure she would come back and explore another day. Standing back up, Neve brushed some sand from her clothes before taking a step back in the direction they had arrived in.

"I am ready to leave when the rest of you are."

Meanwhile, a certain shiny Zorua had woken up from her nest on Neve's bed. Seeing her trainer wasn't around but had left what she hadn't yet unpacked of her luggage on the floor, Nyx decided to help.

Sophie smiled at Jewel as she came to the door. I was taking a walk around the Island, seeing the sights. I happened to see the house and run into Mr. Ishida. We are throwing a barbecue for all the guest on the island, Ms. Blackwell seems to think that we can use for everyone to get off to a better foot. Sophie looked at the sky as dusk began to set in. Well I am going to head back to the ranch, I am sure you can ask your attendant where the Ranch is I was told most of them used it for a home. Sophie waved as she turned around and began to walk away. Goodbye, I hope to see you two tomorrow.

As Sophie walked away Jin cleared his throat once she was far enough away that she wouldn't be able to hear the following conversation. Hello, Ms. Gem. I am Jin Ishida. I am the weakest of the four Shadow Elite, this is a fact that I am not afraid to admit. I am trying to use this opportunity to make myself a better trainer, I have already battled both Mr. Rhodes and Mr. Everett. Both losses but I learned from those battles. I had gifts to give to them when I met them, sadly I was not able to prepare a gift for you. Jin pulled out a tablet and clicked a folder on it. The screen had a file with Jewel image at the top had the name, Felicity Ono. This is all information of you. Mr. Threshield had all the invitees vetted before the invites were sent out. The only people with access it is the Shadow Elite, it didn't take long to find out by pure coincidence that your sister works on the islands. I can assist you with your sister, or help you hide from her. I know that it looks like I may be trying to blackmail you, but this isn't the case. All I have to offer you at the moment is the information we have on you, and your sister. Jin backed out of Jewel's file and opened up Ruth's. I want to learn to incorporate style into battle tactics, I have seen many trainers that use strategies similar to contest in battle, and I believe you would be the best person to learn that from. Jin stood silently waiting for an answer, this was a risky idea, to say the least, and he wouldn't be surprised if Jewel told him to leave.

As they entered the cave, Nanami couldn't help but feel a little happy to see how friendly the Tyranitar was towards their guide- it reminded her of Sorata, who she had returned to his ball earlier due to the Dragonite not liking the climate very much. Participating in Elm's research had made the Dual Champion used to the signs of affection of a Pokemon but she had never owned a Tyranitar before and it was heartwarming to watch a seemingly frightening Pokemon be affectionate in general.

It felt a little strange for Nanami to be traversing the dark caves- usually she had a small fire from Yamato or her Ampharos to light up the way. Using the- rather blurry- silhouettes of her companions as a guide, she followed them until they got to a place where there was a little more light- and a lot of Tyranitars.

They met with the island's ranger and his Pokemon, and Nanami noted the hole as she listened to Ruth's explanation. Tyranitars having to be rescued? She's certainly heard of smaller Pokemon being used for illegal activities but for bigger, rarer and especially more powerful Pokemon?

A group of Larvitars ran past them, one brushing Nanami's legs. One nearly slammed into her leg had her quick reflexes not caused her to draw it away. Nanami grinned a bit at the Larvitars and the Tyranitars watching over them- it reminded her greatly of New Bark Town, the way they were playing. It reminded her of birthday parties--

Parties. Events.

After a little while of watching them, Nanami stretched a bit as she heard Kei made a comment about Riza's event. "We should probably be heading back soon so that we can still make it, then?" She asked- an idle question, if anything.

The sight of the colony was astounding. This species of Pokemon wasn't really that common in Unova, much less a gathering of this scale. Now that she didn't have to worry about how the Pokemon got there, Kei could let her worries lie and take in the view around them.

"Now I'm getting interested in this Threshield fellow." Kei thought as she listened in to Ruth explaining the how the Pokemon got there. "Wonder what this character used to do?"

A little batch of Larvitar brushed passed her leg as they ran around playing. Ruth mentioned that they were already born here--in captivity in other words. Surely, they'll be a lot more amiable? Kei tried to bend down and pet one of them but the Larvitar she chose immediately back away out of caution before running off to rejoin its friends.

"I can see that my skills in this matter haven't improved much." Kei sighed. The only person capable of defeating her in being notorious around Pokemon is her employer Arius. Speaking of which, she remembered asking him for a request earlier. She really needs to check back in. Both Nanami and Neve all seemed ready to go then plus, it was getting dark out.

"I'm ready to leave on this end as well, Ms. Ono. I look forward to resuming this excursion with you tomorrow." She turned to the two other Trainers with her. "Ms. Sadamatsu, Ms. Bennett, thank you for accompanying me around. It was an honor. I hope we can all go exploring together again tomorrow--after Ms. Blackwell's party of course."

As Kei prepared to leave, she pondered once more about the upcoming event. Will they be seeing the Elites again? Maybe. "Something's going to happen on that party. I just know it."
